Are you taking advantage of Free Resume Printing Day?

Update: Office Depot had their own free resume promotion, and they are extending their free resume printing offer through December 31, 2009. Customers may copy up to 25 single-sided pages of resumes for free and also send domestic faxes to five different numbers (up to 25 pages in total), free of charge.

On Tuesday March 10th, FedEx locations throughout the U.S. will allow customers to print up to 25 black and white copies of their resumes for free. “FedEx Office Free Resume Printing Day” will take place at FedEx Office Print and Ship Centers in the United States during regular business hours. The offer is only valid for orders placed and picked up in-store. Customers may place orders by submitting their resume in printed format or as a digital file, and the copies will be printed single-sided on resume-quality paper.

Do certifications lead to career boost?

With so many newly unemployed finding it tough to find a new job right now, some are going back to school to hit the books and either brush up on their current skill set or learn a completely new trade. Some of these adult education programs lead to certifications or diplomas. There’s also a free program in Georgia called Certified Work Ready, where people can earn a certificate for completing a basic skill set program to make them more attractive in the entry-level job market.

Rake in the green with green-collar jobs?

According to Vice President Joe Biden, if you want to earn a good bit of money in the near future, you might want to turn your job search from the white-collar world to green-collar industries. Green jobs, those careers that involve improving the environment, are hotter now than ever before, especially since it’s such an important initiative of the Obama administration. Biden claims that after completing a green jobs training program, workers can make $50 per hour. He went on to say that on average, the clean-energy jobs pay 10 to 20 percent more than similar work outside the field.
