I agree with every last one of the buts. I think you hit the nail on the head with this one.

Yeah enough already with the Lebron stuff, it's like their stuffing LBJ down all throats. I would rather the ads change up and I'm not even gonna get started on the top tens from this past summer. I'm no LBJ hater either, I'm not a fan though. It's bad enough my hubby and son love the man. Imagine the battles we've had. Hawks fans vs Cavs fans in my house on the regular. Neither of them are from Cleveland. I call them traitors.

I really can't tell what way the Hawks are gonna go with the roster cuts. I'm just gonna be ready to cheer on whoever they select.

Hawks continue the rise in 09-10!

Ed ,

Thanks! I think it's less about Joe himself causing his teammates to defer too much, and more about the offense Joe is playing in causing his teammates to defer. I don't think Horford would have a problem taking on a larger role if asked. Josh already does. Marvin? He's a different story. Crawford won't have an issue and Bibby shoots when he feels like it.

But we can't maximize what Bibby brings unless we put him in a situation closer to what he had back in Sacramento, when Adelman was coaching. The problem there is two-fold. Adelman's offense featured Bibby on the perimeter, with a defense-oriented 2-guard who could also hit shots. Here, our offense is centered on that 2-guard, and he's having to guard the better point guards we faced. The second head of that problem is that we don't involve our bigs nearly as much. Therefore, Bibby doesn't have nearly the number of open looks he has in past years.

Design. It influences everything.

Ray, some of your best posts ever. Keep'em coming...As previously pointed out by one of our premier bloggers earlier, Marvin really stepped it up when Joe went down. Everyone contributed a little more and reminds me of how Houston acturally improved when TMac went down. Both are terrific players but they cause their teammates to defer too much it seems when they are playing.

roan st ,

You never know. As it stands, I hope Teague develops into the point guard that we need. He doesn't have to be a Chris Paul type per se, but I won't complain if he comes close to it. As for Marvin, a guy like Teague could make him better/more effective...
