Report: Pistons could trade Josh Smith

Former Hawk Josh Smith may have worn out his welcome after one season in Detroit.

ESPN, citing sources, reported that Detroit has swapped trade proposals with Sacramento in an attempt to trade Smith. The network reported that Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams are players the Kings may trade for Smith.

The report included this paragraph: “Skeptics will inevitably question whether the Kings should indeed take the gamble of trying to fit Smith in alongside (DeMarcus) Cousins and (Rudy) Gay, especially with three years and $40.5 million remaining on Smith’s contract from the Pistons last summer and in the wake of his struggles playing alongside Detroit big men Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe.”

Smith averaged 16.4 points and 6.8 rebounds last season. As during his nine seasons with the Hawks, Smith continued to struggle with 3-point shots, making only 26.4 percent of the ones he tried.

He needs a to play for a coach who will take him out every time he shoots a jump shot. And he needs to play with a veteran who will get in his face if he does dumb things. He’d be great in S.A.

Where did all the foolish Smoove supporters go? Wasn’t that long ago that many we’re saying Hawk’s should have resigned him. Idiots.

Gohome – go troll some other place. I wasn’t a Josh Smith supporter and was tired of his piss poor attitude. But just because some fans liked him doesn’t make them the idiot you appear to be.

AJC must be obsessed with my boy J Smoove. The contracts are guaranteed in the NBA, you people need a life! Mean while the coach who gets a dui his first month in town, is made out to be the good guy. You people are sick!

Who cares about Josh Smith; he doesn’t play for Atlanta, and isn’t in any discussion for being traded here, so why even make mention of him; because he played for the Hawks in the PAST?

He was a divisive persona on the team and left for a good reason. Why keep dredging up his name and wasting such a large amount of ink?

Josh was our hometown boy so that’s why he’s a story here. Same as Cam never-played-for-the-Falcons Newton and Keith still-missing-tackles Brooking and Champ never-played-for-the-Falcons Bailey.

If you can’t see that connection then you’re just going out of your way to insult the home talent.

As for Josh, it really is a shame he won’t give up on 3-point glory in order to maximize his skillset.

“wasting such a large amount of ink”

Your comment was almost as lost as the column itself. Stop wasting so much ink, JacketMan.
