UGA sophomore wins NCAA decathlon title

Maicel Uibo, a Georgia sophomore from Polva, Estonia, scored 8,182 points to win the men’s NCAA title in Eugene, Ore., on Thursday in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Uibo is the reigning SEC men’s indoor heptathlon champ and was the 2013 SEC outdoor decathlon champ.

The UGA men are in second with 24 points, trailing Oregon (26 points) with two days remaining in the competition.

The UGA women are 13th.

Congrats to the track team, If your only down 26 points to the Ducks in track you have one hell of a team.
