John Daly admits to gambling away $55 million

John Daly has made millions throughout his 25-year career in golf.

His greatest accomplishment remains winning the 1995 British Open. His regret? Not his loud pants, but losing upward of $55 million gambling.

The legendary golfer turned duffer sat with Graham Bensinger to discuss his struggles on the course along with his addictions to alcohol, gambling and women.

In a series of video clips, Daly claims President Obama cheats at golf, drinking improves his game and his virility off the course helps him on the course.

Sin is expensive. Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.

There is a big difference between pleasure and happiness. Pleasure is temporary and happiness is long term.

Can someone show me where gambling is a sin in the bible. However it may be a dumb thing to continue to do. You cant prove its bad by the people who won the mega million and powerball.

He will be in the list of sport’s list of bright stars that dimmed too soon. I hope he can still turn things around.

Tiger Woods once said JD had the most natural talent on the PGA tour. What a waste, I loved to watch him play. Now the only time you can see him is at the Masters in the Hooters parking lot selling t-shirts and selling autographs.

This is a very old story, why it is news now, I have no idea. Daly’s gambling problems were well chronicled by the media and in his book ‘My life in and out of the rough.’ He lost a large sum of money gambling at the casinos in Tunica, MS while he was living in Memphis, at one time playing a $10k a pull slot machine I believe. Callaway bailed him out of his gambling losses and got him into rehab. His contract with Callaway ended several years later when he walked out of alcohol rehab treatment that Callaway required him to attend.

Byron…this is an old story but $55 million is the revelation here. He is approaching the Mike Tyson playground.

Did Jim Broome spell the N word incorrectly or is he afraid to show his intelligence? What does his comment have to do with the article topic?

It took until a little after noon for a racist to appear on an AJC blog. Must be a record for non racist posting.

There is no need to gamble when you are filthy ass rich. You already won. As for the women and booze, I don’t have a problem with that. Spend your money wisely son.
