Jim Kelly dances with his wife on Mother’s Day

Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly, who continues to his fight against cancer, took a few steps Sunday and danced with his wife, Jill, to commemorate Mother’s Day.

A photo posted by his daughter on Instagram included the cutline: “Daddy just wanted to dance with his bride on Mother’s Day #prayersforjk

Kelly has two daughters. His son, Hunter, whose battle with a fatal nervous system disease inspired Kelly’s charitable works, died in 2005 at the age of 8.

In March, Kelly was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in eight months. The legendary Bills quarterback’s first battle with jaw cancer concluded with surgery in June 2013. This time, however, his wife wrote on her personal blog that “the cancer’s back, aggressive, and starting to spread” and would not require surgery. Kelly underwent radiation and chemotherapy.

Jim Kelly returned home to Buffalo to continue his recover almost a month ago.

What his wife posted about it being aggressive is not good, lost both of my parents to cancer and both Doctors used that “aggressive” term. He was one of the greats when i was a younger man, wish him a speedy recovery, sounds like he has had enough bad luck recently.

I was never a fan of the Bills and reveled in their losing 4 straight Super Bowls. Those were just games.

But this, I take no pleasure in. Get well soon, Jim.

I was never much of a Bills fan, either, but they never lost a Super Bowl that I was not hoping they would win. Unlike each of their opponents, there was little to dislike about Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills.

Praying for comfort and peace of mind for Jim and his family.
