Where are they now? Former UGA great Terrence Edwards

Terrence Edwards, who starred on Georgia’s 2002 SEC Championship team, is still catching footballs. The all-time leading receiver for the Bulldogs just completed his eighth season in the CFL. Edwards, 33, is married to Candice, who is also a Georgia graduate. They began dating after college and have two young sons, Terrence II and Troy.

What do you think of this year’s crop of Georgia receivers? “I was up there on Monday, and I got to meet Tavarres King. I told him that the catch he had against Auburn was a great catch. I also told him that even though I’m the all-time leading receiver, that him and AJ Green and the rest of the guys were way better than me when I was their age. I think this year’s crop has all the tools. It’s tough to see Michael Bennett and Marlon Brown go down. But the younger guys stepped up and look at them now. Aaron Murray has how many touchdowns in his career? 89? That doesn’t just happen by throwing the ball. You’ve got to have somebody to catch it. I think they are an excellent group of receivers.”

Alabama or Georgia? “It’s going to be Georgia. I think they’re playing the best right now. I think this Georgia team reminds me of the Georgia team I played for in 2002. It’s because we got better as the year went on. We were playing our best football at the end of the year. Even back in 2002, I didn’t think anybody would beat us. That’s the way I feel about this team after Shawn Williams called out the team, especially the defense, with the way they had been playing. Since then, the defense has been playing better than anybody, even Alabama or Notre Dame.”

What do you remember about the SEC Championship? “My team was the first Georgia team in 20 years to win the SEC Championship. It was a blessing and an honor to be a senior on that team, and to be a team leader. I will always tell my kids, my team was the first at Georgia to win the SEC in 20 years. We were the team that started this run that Georgia has had with Coach Richt for the last 12 years. My team was the one that started it all off.”

The article is titled “Where are they now?” and never says where he is now.

Yeah – I would like to know a little more about Terrance’s current career in the CFL. Obviously, he’s doing well there. Any insight on his plan after football? Good guy during his time in Athens. Remember watching him play QB for Washington County in a semi-final game in the Dome. Outstanding athlete and DGD.
