Former Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton told the AJC’s Michael Cunningham that the Falcons aren’t really seen as a worthy rival by his current team, the Saints, on Tuesday.

Lofton and his New Orleans teammates may feel differently after their bus allegedly was egged while the team was leaving Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Wednesday night.
The Saints were arriving in Atlanta for their game against the Falcons Thursday night in the Georgia Dome.
Saints backup quarterback Chase Daniel tweeted this just minutes after the team’s charter flight touched down:
@ChaseDaniel: Wow, as we’re boarding buses on the Tarmac @ Atlanta airport, we start getting eggs thrown @ us by airport workers! Guess they do hate us!
Tight end Jimmy Graham confirmed the incident took place with another tweet:
@JimmyGraham: Bus just got egged after landing in ATL by the ramp workers. Classy! “RISE Up” smh
A third player, linebacker Will Herring, also tweeted about it:
@wherring54 First time my bus has been egged by opposing fans! Tomorrow should be fun!! #WhoDatNation
Hartsfield-Jackson officials are investigating the incident.
New Orleans has won 11 of the last 13 games in the series, including a 31-27 victory on Nov. 11.
But the Falcons are 10-1 and the Saints are just 5-6 this season.

First of all, Sean Peyton is dedicated to the New Orleans Saints and has ALREADY decided that he will sign another contract with the. Secondly, it goes to show the world how CLASSLESS the Falcants’ fans are. The Saints are a much better team than the Falcons. Always has been Always will be! WHO DAT????!!! Yeah…we are going to beat your behinds yet again! Just watch and see. Of course the Falcons are not a rival team for the Saints..You are NOT WORTHY enough to be… GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

I think those airport workers deserve a raise. Lofton saying that they don’t see the Falcons as a rival speaks more to his low IQ than accurate knowledge of football. Our Falcons will defrock the Saints and the Dawgs will prevail on Saturday.

Last time with 2 of our best out with injury the Saints fans held their breath and it took a last minute play by Greer to save them. NOTHING will save them tonight. Falcons by 14 BANK ON IT>

dolemyte I agree with you 1,000%. You are so right. We will see a lot of red seats tonight while THE REAL CHAMPIONS beat their behinds! The Saints will beat the Falcons yet again. It has been proven time and time again the Falcons barely won a lot of those games. Yeah had any other team on the outside of the Arizona Cardinals played the Falcants they would have won that game. The Falcons fans are sorry fans period. C’mon throwing eggs at a bus? Really? yeah that should be considered a terrorist act. It just shows how classess they really are. By the way….New Orleans is a much prettier city than NOTLANTA! The Saints will beat your pants off tonight..Oh and we don’t even have our coach at this moment, but he will be back early next year. Bountygate has NEVER been proven either. Yep. No wonder Atlanta is at the BOTTOM of the education list in this country. You people here are so ignorant! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!

Besides these Sain’ts players are such weenies they couldn’t even take a little pregame smack talk and had to call daddy the commissioner to complain about our guys TALKING.
In reality there was probably only ONE EGG thrown and the Drew broke a nail diving for cover under a lineman’s butt.

Shows the mentality of the Alt. fans. Like you stated – the Saints were accused of wrong doing – but it has never been proven. How does that statement go – “Innocent until proven guilty”. But thats right Atl. are the ones thats always right no matter what.
Can’t wait until they serve up baked dirty bird at the game tonight. Falcons are way too overrated.

Hahahahahahaha! Falcants’ fans…remember those 2 points? hahahahahahahahahaHA! Yeah..the Falcants’ were the LOWEST SCORING TEAM IN A PLAYOFF GAME IN NFL HISTORY! It looks like they are going to repeat that again! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Isn’t it amazing how all of these sorry Falcants’ fans are now speaking AGAINST Curtis Lofton and less than 6 months ago they were the very same ‘fairweather’ fans beggin’ Blanks classess a$$ to keep him? too funny.. Now they are calling themselves talking about him..too funny. You just have to consider the source that is coming from. I’m certain Lofton is taking that as a compliment..too funny! Lofton spoke the truth. The Falcants’ are NOT a rivarly team for the New Orleans Saints and Actions speaks louder than words..
By the way….why don’t you all tell that nappy headed Roddy “I’ze do anythung fo ya Massa” White to get those plats out of his head, take another English course, and grow up THEN speak! hahahahahahaha! I hope they knock the socks off of his behind. I can’t stand him with his ghetto ignorant self!

LMAO….reading some of these comments.
The article is about Falcons fans throwing eggs at the Saints Team Buses and many Falcon Fans on here says that Saints fans are the worst fans.
I have been to Falcons v Saints games both in New Orleans and in Atlanta and I can tell you that Falcons fans never experience the treatment that Saints fans experience in that circus tent. Last season, things were thrown at us, pour on us and mean and hateful things were yelled at us through out the entire game. I have never seen that done to Falcons Fans at the Super Dome…..at least not in the section I sit in.
Jealousy makes people do mean things….and Falcons Fans resorting to throwing their unhatched dirty birds is a prime example.
It sure will nice knowing that when the Falcons finish the season 14-2 that those 2 losses will have come from their Big Brothers!

I’ve been a Falcons fan since day one, including going to the first game they ever played, a 9 – 7 loss to the Iggles.
That said: Was a police report filed? If this is true and those guys can be identified, they should be charged with malicious mischief at a minimum,,,, AFTER they’re fired. I would suggest no less if the same thing happened to the Falcons in Nawlins. The IDIOTS who threw the eggs, IF they really did, were throwing eggs at a bus most likely owned and operated by an ATLANTA business owner who would then have to pay to repair any damage done to his bus.
I see a lot of Birds “fans” pointing out prior bad behavior by Saints fans as if to justify this childish, yet criminal behavior, and think y’all need to take a hard look at yourself.
I’ve been to many Falcons/Saints games in the Superdome over the years and have ALWAYS been warmly received by Saints fans before, during, and after the games in the quarter. And yes, I always wear my Falcons colors.
Grow up, jerks.

If eggs were thrown, it would be easy to tell. Debris or FOD as they call it at the airport is cleaned up as to not be sucked into the jet engines. So if you have some idiots throwing ANY type of debris in that area, then they need to be dealt with swiftly and harshly! I don’t care who was on the plane, Saints or Sinners, throwing debris is not acceptable!

Don’t they know people will lose jobs for stunts like this, in these hard economic times one would not risk losing their job with a stunt like this. Where did they get the eggs from?? Another airport worker?? I would really like to know if airport security has a video of aint players boarding the bus and dodging eggs. Oh wait all these guys have cell phones that can record video and take pictures!! Where is the evidence?? There is none!!

I have been to many Falcons games over the years. I will be there tonight. The worst, rudest, most classless fans I have encountered at the dome are always the Saints fans. Apparently they have no life other then living through the Saints recent success. The Saints have an excellent QB in Drew Brees, and then a bunch of thugs They have won a super bowl, which is now ancient history. Move on with your lives, Saints fans.

LOL at the clown calling The Saints a “small market team,’ you should be a comedian. Travel the world and you will see Brees jerseys all over, I saw one on a person in Australia (PRE KATRINA). Now seriously, how many Atlanta fans are outside of Atlanta? I don’t think even half of Atlanta is a Falcon fan…Braves, yes, Falcons, NO! Falcons were smart to copy the color of the Dogs, or you’d rarely see red and black around here! I hardly EVER see Falcon support in this city (not counting the last three months) and it’s still just a murmur! Atlanta radio 790 was begging fans this week to act like “Saints Fans” and be there for their team. REAL die hard Falcon fans are rare and nice to come by, they usually treat us Saints fans like family (step children, but still family).

This story would need to be confirmed before I believe it. I can’t imagine airport workers pulling such a stunt at the airport, but I guess you never know.
I was a season ticket holder for years (leaving during the Vick fiasco), but the Saints game was always my favorite to tailgate. I was offered tons of (great) food, beer, etc. by many Saints fans, and I never had any issues outside of the normal trash-talking. Haven’t been to a Saints game in 2 years, so maybe that has changed.

Stick to football trash talk people! Judging people, comparing cities (we both have BIG issues,I’m from N.O., but live in Atl.), is pretty small minded, and childish! I love a true fan that can trash talk to you, but shake your hand at the end of a day! Geaux Saints, WHO DAT!

@Wutehvah…it’s the band wagon jumpers that cause trouble for most teams! How many times has the Saints come through ATL airport with no problems? Many! But I bet those airport workers never paid attention to the the Falcons other than the year they went to the super bowl and this year, NOT real fans. A real fan would not celebrate this act of foolery! I would not be happy with New Orleans fans if they did this…You can NEVER say New Orleans is not a hospitable, and welcoming place to Falcon fans…they love it there!

Wow…whoever was involved with egging the New Orleans Saints are about to lose their jobs! Good! That is so unprofessional what the workers did! Yeah they will be in the umemployment line tomorrow! They are so stupid! There are cameras EVERYWHERE. Even places where they don’t know and they were on film doing this! I’m so happy they are going to be fired!
This is NOT how you treat anyone. When you are in a professional environment like the Hartsfield Jackson Airport you KEEP your personal feelings, beliefs and opionions to yourself.
I guess these sorry Falcants’ fans think that it’s O.K. that this happened, but baby..it’s much deeper than that! Atlanta is known for being the friendliest city in the south…well I beg to differ. This treatment of these football players is NOT acceptable!
I have tweeted this and I also placed this on my facebook page for the world to see! Yeah…..
For the Airport Employees at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport that did this, I hope you have a back up plan..because you are on your way out of a job and it’s well deserved! Good riddance.

Word from a credible source says a wealthy financier out of NYC is behind this utterly dastardly deed. Sources name El Goodell as the money man for the 2 dozen grade A projectiles. Two dozen shell caseings were recovered by the TSA and are being sent to the NFL offices as evidence. Sources also believe that it was an inside job, as all of the Saints issues have been inflicted internally. Either way, it is apparent that no one likes the Saints, internally or externally. On a side note, the Egg that hit Jimmy Graham hit him in the hands and he dropped it. No word yet if the NFL stats dept will add that drop to his league leading total.

This text book college – high school rivalry prank, not worth of the hype the media spins before every pro sport match up, It was a little mean spirited but OMG
I was in attendance when Saints played in Atlanta last year. Saints fans were rude making harassing comments in front of children threatening harm to people when they cheered for the Falcons, This isn’t hear say I say it in front of me , Alcoholic sales were cut off during third quarter. Fans escorted out by the police
People in Atlanta donated their time and monies after Hurricane Katrina which hit more than just the city of New Orleans (with a warning people, duh) ( I was a volunteer at the hospital to help )
Many moved here after New Orleans, ok to love your home city but trashing another doesn’t make you look better , and why don’t most move back, for whatever reason you’re here now , mind your manners! Don’t be ingrates
Let it go people,. All teams have a few jerkwad fans on board
