Will Muschamp has fired back at Nick Saban over his BCS bowl complaints.
The loser of Saturday’s SEC Championship between No. 2 Alabama and No. 3 UGA will likely drop to a non-BCS bowl game, maybe the Capital One Bowl. Meanwhile, No. 4 Florida will likely make it to the Sugar Bowl, despite not playing for a conference title.
Saban is not happy about that. And on this issue, UGA fans might be in agreement with the Alabama coach.
“It’s not really a great scenario,” Saban said on Sunday. “You play your way into the (SEC) Championship game, which means you’re the best team in your division … It doesn’t seem quite right, but it is what it is. I don’t really know what me commenting about it is going to do to change it. But I don’t feel good about it.”
Muschamp responded to the comments from his former boss, Saban.
“Well, I can switch and go to Atlanta if he doesn’t want to go Atlanta and play the Dawgs,” Muschamp told the AP.
“Be careful what you ask for, Nick.”
This makes for some good water-cooler discussion. Last year, Alabama was in a similar position as this year’s Florida team – left out of the SEC Championship game but had clinched a spot in the BCS bowls due to a high ranking.
Florida has defeated four top 10 BCS teams this season. It seems unlikely that Alabama or UGA with two losses would hold off 11-1 Florida in the next BCS rankings to finalize the bowl games.

Its quite entertaining that most of the comments come from Gaytor fans, lol. Toooo bad UF has to, once again, sit in the stands while the two best in the SEC fight it out for the right to play for the crystal. The Gaytor faithful HAS to be wetting their jorts their Muschump-led “team” can’t sustain a hard-on.
Too bad, p*ss-throwers, suck it up and get a big boy program.

I think this year that the loser of the SEC championship game should go to the Sugar Bowl. I think the rankings before the championship game should be taken into account. Otherwise, the runner-up will almost never get into a BCS bowl. Last year I agreed that Bama should have gone to the BCS championship since they were only beaten (barely) by LSU and the East teams were not nearly as good as the West. I think the SEC needs to have some sort of rule where if the runner-up is ranked higher than the other SEC teams before the championship game, then they automatically go to the Sugar, if the SEC winner goes to the BCS championship game. You shouldn’t be penalized just because you had to play an extra game. It’d almost be better to come in second in your division if you didn’t really have a BCS championship caliber team, which UF does not have, due to their offense.

I expect stupid comments from stupid people like Jess! Especially a a Gay Terd! If you want UGA/FL history, dumbass, look at last 3 years. Better than that look at last 5 years. Or, even better, look at the overall UGA/FL history.
You make me think of that commercial… “you like to whine”!

Alabama has the best record in their division but got manhandled by Johnny Football in their home stadium. Not sure they’re actually the best.

I actually see both sides of this argument as valid. The moral of the story is don’t lose in the SEC because someone is always waiting to surpass you.
