Looking for tickets to SEC Championship?

Looking for tickets to Saturday’s SEC Championship?

It’s one of the hardest tickets in college football to get.

A lot of it has to do with UGA having the chance to win its first national title since 1980 – if the Bulldogs beat Alabama on Saturday. That’s a pretty big “if.”

The SEC Championship game is officially sold out. But you can still get tickets on the secondary market for a steep price.

But hey, like an Alabama running back suggested on Twitter, this is an event that only happens every 30 years for Georgia. So why not splurge?

Note: The SEC has issued a warning about purchasing counterfeit tickets to the game. The SEC and Georgia Dome officials will have a “Ticket Validation Window” at the main box office at the Georgia Dome beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

How do you find the best price on the best ticket for Saturday? Check back on this page throughout the rest of the week.

I sold my lower bowl seats for $350 each, but that was before Oregon & Kansas St. lost. Had I waited a couple more days, I’m sure I could have gotten $500 or more per ticket. Oh well, still a pretty good profit for me!

If you think the prices for the SEC Championship Game are steep, no amount of money in the world will help UGA “buy” a BCS title and long as Mark Richt is in Athens and Coach Nick Saban can still draw a breath.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that in the spirit of Christmas giving any fan that shows up Saturday will be admitted with or without a ticket. The first 20,000 fans through the gate will also receive a free official ACC brown paper bag to wear proudly during and after the game.

SEC Winner-42 Notre Dame-14

SEC IMPLEMENTS BCS PLAYOFF-
The SEC championship game is a play in to the BCS title game. I think last years BCS title, featuring TWO SEC teams is what forced the BCS’ hand and made them create the four team playoff for 2014. But hey, we’ve got half of it right now. The #2 and #3 teams are playing in the SEC championship game to be in the BCS title game.

It would be the 7th consecutive National Championship for the SEC if they win. There has never been such conference dominance in NCAA football, has there?

No matter who wins the SEC title, Notre Dame will be facing as many future NFL players, in one game, as they’ve seen the whole season. With the long recovery time available for the SEC winner, it’s hard to see Notre Dame staying in the game until the end.

Only happens once every 30 years for UGA…..but since 2006 Florida (06, 08, 09) and Alabama (08, 09, 12) have each played 3 times in the SEC Championship with a BCS Championship trip on the line….not to mention they have won 2 National Championships each in that time period.

Good news is that UGA fans will be able to get a good deal on Capital One bowl tickets come Saturday night.

“SEC Winner-42 Notre Dame-14. ” Made me laugh.

Notre Dame has no.2 defense in the nation at 10.3pts per game allowed. We have limited Oklahoma which averages 41 pts a game to 13 points.

Score will be something like ND 14 – Bama 13

Alabama better than Georgia all-time? Conceded. They’re better than everyone all time, with the possible exception of Notre Dame.

As for Florida, they are better only if you think that college football is a very recent invention.

Call me crazy, but 12 championships (playing for 13) beats 8 championships. 49 series wins beats 40 series wins. Our first championship (1942) preceded yours (1991) by 49 years. But what’s 5 decades among friends, right?

Florida football will forever be stained by an inglorious 59 year drought of non-championship football, which includes a potential championship (’84) wiped out by some of the worst NCAA rule-breaking in recent memory. For most of its career, Florida football is what you get when you mix Vandy with SMU. Sorry, but the last 22 years doesn’t erase that shameful past.

“SEC Rules” –
Have you seen Notre Dames 400 lb. nose guard yet. Didn’t think so. As you can see below, the highest point total scored against Notre Dame this year was 26 points, and that includes games against Michigan, Stanford, Miami, Oklahoma, and Southern Cal.

Yet, you believe Georgia will score 42 pts! Wow, you’re crazy.

No rational SEC fan should discount how good ND is. They’re a very stout team.

However, ND might get real about the SEC. Ohio State and the other recent losers of the NC game were also very stout teams.
