Alabama RB pokes fun at UGA

Alabama finally cracked with some smack talk about its SEC Championship opponent on Tuesday afternoon.

And it was an Alabama running back from Georgia, Hillgrove High School’s Kenyan Drake, who fired the shot on Twitter:

Biggest game in 30 years?? We do this every year #rolltide

Drake is a freshman at Alabama, as this is his first season of college football. He was obviously making reference to UGA players or fans being hyped up about Saturday’s contest.

Drake may not be politically correct but he is right. It is UGA’s biggest game in 30 years because a win will give the Bulldogs a shot at winning the national title for the first time since 1980.

But should Drake have said it out loud?

UGA players have been talking a little smack, in bits and pieces, all week – most notably with safety Bacarri Rambo saying “We have better players (than Alabama) across the board.”

Meanwhile, Alabama coach Nick Saban and players have been relatively quiet in media interviews this week.

What kind of screwed up system is it that would allow the pitiful 2012 version of the ‘jackets to go to a BCS bowl by beating a team well out of the top 10 while UGA could lose a squeaker to the #2 team (who was #1 almost all year and is the defending national champion) and get shut out of the BCS altogether. Not that I would mind either event, but still that’s messed up!

Is Buckeye trolling here again – from the best team in the historically most over-rated conference. Even with UGA and Bama’s “patsies” on their schedules, they have stronger strength of schedule numbers than Ohio State. The Big-10 is one colossal bag squeeze. The ACC might be better than the Big-10, the MAC certainly is. Kentucky might be bowl eligible if they played in the Big-10.

Just to keep the pressure on – this is Bobo’s game. If he reviews his lack of a plan against SC and creates a game plan that gives Murray time to throw, UGA has a 50:50 chance. If Bama is in Murray’s face all game, UGA loses. It’s that simple.

Drake is right, alabama does this pretty much every year. Alabama will be at the top again next year, UGA will lose all but three players with any experience on defense. This is the UGA nations opportunity for a National Title, 2013 we will be lucky to go 9 and 3.

The only way for UGA to lose to Alabama is if Aaron Murray beats his own team like all the other times against quality teams in his three years at UGA.

Still waiting on the question to Richt — Will H Mason be put in the game if National Title opportunity is still in sight??????????????????????

Face it bugs, your entire program is a maggot-infested steaming turd. Just pave over The Joke by Coke and use it to expand your entomology department. Yellow Jackets do not live in Hives, they live in nests in the ground. They don’t make honeycombs like you have on your jerseys (which I thought was a chickenwire pattern when I first saw it). Drake’s comment illustrates why Saban doesn’t let his freshmen speak to the media. I guess now Nick is going to take away his Twitter account.

Let’s review which players have been talking or tweeting trash from each side. Rambo and Commings both served 4 game suspensions at the beginning of the season for failing drug tests, Drake didn’t dress for Alabama’s game a week ago Saturday with Western Carolina because he was in Saban’s doghouse, apparently for the second time.

Keep it up Kenyan and you may be one of those Dawgs next year. I’ll bet you’ll be hearing from Saban again if you haven’t already.

You’ve did “JACK” at UA, and now you wanna go viral? Do you think this was gonna cut into Lacy and Yeldon’s touches? Do you think that yu’ll elevate your self up the charts? Boy do your History and you’ll realize that if not for Nick Saban wanting to try the NFL, he’d be at LSU, and this would be idle conversation, as LSU would be ya’ll Daddy. The media takes Teams like UA/Notre Dame, and USC and over hype them. Trust me ya’ll will get beat Saturday, and shutter when you realize you gotta deal with Johnny next season. I give you credit for 2009, and really you guys need to thank UGA for exposing LSU’s offense last year so you could win it in 2011. Let’s face it. UGA has won 2 SEC titles in the last 10 years and Bama has won 1. UGA was in position to move up in the BCS standings when LSU and UT played in the championship and UGA didn’t, but LSU had 2 losses and jumped UGA to win. The next time this happened (last year) Bama did jump up to the title game because ESPN kisses Nick Saban’s fanny and has him on as an expert all the time. I personally think when you are an active coach there should be an NCAA rule to prevent you from doing that. All of that said, UGA will have the two best players on the field Saturday named Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree on either side of the ball. It will be fun watching them pop the slobber out of Bama players and then see what happens.

UGA LAST PLAYED for the MNC in 82 or 83 vs PN STATE for the title. We lost. TNEY tackled Walker low, below his knees and he only had maybe 100 yes and one TD.

We finished number 4 or 5 that year after the bowl loss.

Drake is just a kid, ignore it. Coach Saban probably had him running stadium steps @ 5:00am this morning. Same thing Coach Richt should have had Rambo doing. The fans love it but the Coaches hate it because its bad for the team. We are trying to get rid of the idiots at UGA. Can’t soeak for Bama. LOL! Kenyan, where the hell were you last year? I didn’t see Bama in the SEC championship game. You were gift wrapped a national title you did not deserve. I might also ask where the hell was Bama for 10 years before Saban got there? The fact is you don’t do this every year, and we’ve won as many SEC titles as you have big mouth, and more games.

Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, or South Carolina would beat Notre Dame. I hate to tell the NCAA but the two best teams won’t be playing in the BCS NC game. Also I guarantee you Ohio St. doesn’t want any of these six. This is the top six teams in the country. Oh yea Oregon doesn’t either.

Gary Danielson on UGA:

“when the rest of the country was playing really tough football games, Georgia has played Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech. They haven’t been tested. So they’re basically coming from the Oct. 27 game into the championship game and we don’t know if they’ve gotten any better or where they stand.”

Gentlemen- Saturday will be a great game between two great teams. In my opinion, whoever turns the ball over the least, will win. If Bama gets off to a great start, if will be tough for Ga to come back. If Ga gets off to a fast start, Bama will still come back. It has been a while since Ga has been in this position. Do not be surprise if Ga plays this Saturday like they did against Boise St last year. We will see. Roll tide!

So what’s the problem?? what’s wrong, starting to wonder if you have enough speed to beat Bama or are you worried BoBo will get into a chess match with Saban and his staff? worried about your stamina? I remember a certain UGa team that ran out of gas last year against LSU in the 2nd half. what’s different this time around? your impressive record again a mediocre schedule? 71-71 I believe is the win-loss record of all the opponents. starting to wonder what that defense can do when they have to stop the run on a team that has depth up front and in the backfield? you clowns crap on Drake but he was the Jawja Gatorade Player of the Year last year. he’s playing and guess what, Bama’s adding more talent from Jawja next year. guess you’re mad at him wanting to play for national championships and not just SEC East titles. put this on your bulletin boards clowns-it’s a 4 qtr game boys so mount up!! Short-term memory

November 27th, 2012
10:40 pm

Short-term memory like the other bumer fans. They have soon forgotten about the Dubose, Franchione, Shula and Sabans first season where they had around a .500 winning percentage combined with multiple years of NCAA probation violations. It has only been since 2008 that they have managed to pull out of their funk. Once Saban burns out from all the hissy fits and spanking his players, he will abruptly leave like he did at Miami. Thats what they all do when things turn south and the well runs dry. They jump ship and go somewhere else. Except for Mark Richt and Georgia. He’s a man of loyalty and character that is building a legacy that will last. It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog!

short term…what is it 48 wins in 4 years? I’ll give you a minute to wrap your head round that bro. the point is Bama did something about not winning. they don’t settle for SEC titles and proclaim their coaches are in it to build character. that’s what second place teams talk about. I mean if that’s what you guys are into then go for it. win all the SEC East titles you can stand and keep building “character”, how many arrested up there at last count? while others are building trophy cases and stacking trophies and hoisting crystal footballs that say national champs.good luck Saturday.

I bet it eats at Saban that he couldn’t succeed at the next level only to have to return to amateur sports. This may be why he gets so upset with his players. It’s like a college coach having to return to coaching highschool football. That must be why Spurrier is also always uptight and frustrated. He couldn’t make it at the next level either. It takes a different caliber coach with a higher level of composure to succeed in the NFL. The sideline tantrums don’t cut it in the Pros.

UGA and Bama fans need to step back, and take a deep breath. Fact is, both schools benefited from one of the easiest conference schedules you can get in the SEC. Fact is, neither had a daunting OOC schedule. Fact is, both teams faced rough patches during this season, and both have played really well at other times this season. Fact is, what happened last year, or in 2008, or in 1976 is totally irrelevant.

The only thing that matters is this Saturday. I think these teams are as evenly matched as it can get. If one is hot, and the other not, it could be a bit one sided. But I’m expecting both teams to be at the top of their games.

I’m hoping for a Bama win, but understand that the Tide had better pack a lunch.

SEC Winner-42 Notre Dame-14

SEC IMPLEMENTS BCS PLAYOFF-
The SEC championship game is a play in to the BCS title game. I think last years BCS title, featuring TWO SEC teams is what forced the BCS’ hand and made them create the four team playoff for 2014. But hey, we’ve got half of it right now. The #2 and #3 teams are playing in the SEC championship game to be in the BCS title game.

It would be the 7th consecutive National Championship for the SEC if they win. There has never been such conference dominance in NCAA football, has there?

No matter who wins the SEC title, Notre Dame will be facing as many future NFL players, in one game, as they’ve seen the whole season. With the long recovery time available for the SEC winner, it’s hard to see Notre Dame staying in the game until the end.
