Alabama RB pokes fun at UGA

Alabama finally cracked with some smack talk about its SEC Championship opponent on Tuesday afternoon.

And it was an Alabama running back from Georgia, Hillgrove High School’s Kenyan Drake, who fired the shot on Twitter:

Biggest game in 30 years?? We do this every year #rolltide

Drake is a freshman at Alabama, as this is his first season of college football. He was obviously making reference to UGA players or fans being hyped up about Saturday’s contest.

Drake may not be politically correct but he is right. It is UGA’s biggest game in 30 years because a win will give the Bulldogs a shot at winning the national title for the first time since 1980.

But should Drake have said it out loud?

UGA players have been talking a little smack, in bits and pieces, all week – most notably with safety Bacarri Rambo saying “We have better players (than Alabama) across the board.”

Meanwhile, Alabama coach Nick Saban and players have been relatively quiet in media interviews this week.

Drake better enjoy every carry he gets this year because next year he’s no better than #5 on the depth chart.

SEC titles are important (we have 22) but the national title is the ultimate prize. Maybe, that where we differ ?

TIde, you better watch out, I saw dem Dawgs put up 7 points on USC, and not that pansy Southern California, I am talking about dem South Caroliner boys. You just better shut up Tide and take your licking liek a man. Boy, it warms my heart to see da BCS falling into place so that my dawgs can lose a close game by 28 points and then still possibly claim the national championship. Makes sense, don’t it?

What kind of screwed up system is it that would allow the pitiful 2012 version of the ‘jackets to go to a BCS bowl by beating a team well out of the top 10 while UGA could lose a squeaker to the #2 team (who was #1 almost all year and is the defending national champion) and get shut out of the BCS altogether. Not that I would mind either event, but still that’s messed up!

I guess college football just didn’t exist for Alabama between Stallings in 1993 and Saban a few years ago….because, they were darned near being another Miss State through all of those years…and the Dawgs beat up on them a few times.

It is the first opportunity in 30 years, but our last crack at the MNC came in 1982 when we were #1 playing Penn State. Penn st upset us and Joe Pa claimed his first title. I was there and yes, 30 years is a long time.

Is Buckeye trolling here again – from the best team in the historically most over-rated conference. Even with UGA and Bama’s “patsies” on their schedules, they have stronger strength of schedule numbers than Ohio State. The Big-10 is one colossal bag squeeze. The ACC might be better than the Big-10, the MAC certainly is. Kentucky might be bowl eligible if they played in the Big-10.

Just to keep the pressure on – this is Bobo’s game. If he reviews his lack of a plan against SC and creates a game plan that gives Murray time to throw, UGA has a 50:50 chance. If Bama is in Murray’s face all game, UGA loses. It’s that simple.

Drake is right, alabama does this pretty much every year. Alabama will be at the top again next year, UGA will lose all but three players with any experience on defense. This is the UGA nations opportunity for a National Title, 2013 we will be lucky to go 9 and 3.

The only way for UGA to lose to Alabama is if Aaron Murray beats his own team like all the other times against quality teams in his three years at UGA.

Still waiting on the question to Richt — Will H Mason be put in the game if National Title opportunity is still in sight??????????????????????

Joey – let’s not forget Archie Griffin ripping off Anthony Davis for the Heisman or that class act Woody Hayes punching the Clemson player. My brother in law from Univ Tx went to Columbus when they had a home-and-home a few years ago. Said the OSU fans were the worst he’s ever seen. They spit on his daughter. Sick. I’d let my kids got to Tennessee before OSU.

I love how you can always count on the NATS dingleberries to come on and talk smack vicariously through other teams.

Face it bugs, your entire program is a maggot-infested steaming turd. Just pave over The Joke by Coke and use it to expand your entomology department. Yellow Jackets do not live in Hives, they live in nests in the ground. They don’t make honeycombs like you have on your jerseys (which I thought was a chickenwire pattern when I first saw it). Spending time, money and effort on a football program is almost as big a waste of time as the 2 minutes your daddy spent with your mother. Go Buzz somewhere else….

LOL, Drake is a freshman. He hasn’t played in anything important yet. He doesn’t even play important minutes. My guess is he is off the team by his Junior year.

Just anther punk from metro Atlanta who has no loyalty to the instate teams. Geno Smith is another example.

Awful lot of RECENT years where Alabama was nowhere to be seen in the national rankings…ah how they are so soon to forget their own history. Yet, since he is all of 19 years old, I guess its too much to expect him to remeber something as recent as 5 years ago.

Drake’s comment illustrates why Saban doesn’t let his freshmen speak to the media. I guess now Nick is going to take away his Twitter account.

Let’s review which players have been talking or tweeting trash from each side. Rambo and Commings both served 4 game suspensions at the beginning of the season for failing drug tests, Drake didn’t dress for Alabama’s game a week ago Saturday with Western Carolina because he was in Saban’s doghouse, apparently for the second time.

Keep it up Kenyan and you may be one of those Dawgs next year. I’ll bet you’ll be hearing from Saban again if you haven’t already.

Contractor, I understand he is part of the team and that he may become a good or even great player. I just took a little umbrage that a 17-year-old freshman felt he could claim credit for previous players accomplishments. I have nothing but the greatest respect for Alabama’s program, history and tradition. Look forward to a great competitive game with no injuries to either team.

Prep Zone, is Aaron Murray just another punk from Florida who had no loyalty to his in state schools? Are Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall punks from North Carolina who had no loyalty to their in state schools? If not, why are they in school at UGA, did they not have any offers in their home states?
