UGA’s Rambo: “I feel like we’re more talented (than Alabama)”

One of UGA’s veteran defenders has provided some of the first bulletin board material of the week in advance of Saturday’s SEC Championship showdown between the Bulldogs and Alabama.

UGA safety Bacarri Rambo went on ESPN radio after Saturday’s blowout win over Georgia Tech and said some words that will surely get the attention of Nick Saban:

“I feel like we’re more talented (than Alabama). We have better players at each position, across the board, especially on defense. It’s going to be a great challenge for us. I know it’s going to be a battle. It’s going to come down to who has the best defense and who makes more turnovers. It’s going to be a battle of the defenses.”

Which defense is better?

What do you think? Is Rambo correct? Is UGA’s defense better than Alabama’s? And if so, should Rambo have made the remark? If not, why not? Please post below.

Saturday’s SEC Championship game will match up No. 2 Alabama versus No. 3 Georgia. Please check back all week for the AJC’s coverage of “SEC Championship Week”

Gee weez, what kind of fans are you. The kid just played in a cross town rival game which was a blow out, he knows they keep their seeding and are going to the SEC Champ game so he is hyped up. An ESPN mike is thrown at him so he rattles off tough guy talk saying his team is better. WTH else is he suppose to say? Come on give the kid a break will ya.

Rambo has earned the right to say anything he pleases. It’s his skin on the field

Georgia is not man enough to beat Alabama-Pat Dye

If Georgia got humiliated by SC, they will lose by 40 to the Tide

Just like in the Rambo movie against the big Russian, He did bleed…..and so does Bama. A&M proved that. Dawgs have more than a chance……because THEY ARE good, and hearing that they don’t have a chance. I like that set up.

@Steve “The King” Spurrier – I had the pleasure of eating at the Hard Eight in Stephenville. It was three meals worth of food served at once and definitely some great ‘cue.

p.s. echoing what Buster said in the first comment on this thread, what Rambo said won’t matter once the hitting starts. And I expect both teams to do plenty of hitting!

It’s not such a stretch to say that UGA has equal or better talent than Bummer after so many elite palyers were drafted off their team last year. Psuedo UGA fans (as in those that wear yellow jackets) are the ones that are screaming.

My first reaction was like many: No!!!! Don’t give Bama any b.b. material! But I now think his comment is basically harmless, and maybe even slightly helpful for the Dawgs. For one, Rambo’s gonna have to back it up. And I don’t think he played that great against Tech. Obviously the interception was a horrendous pass, and the stripped ball, if I remember correctly, came as Tech’s running back was almost to the end zone. And as some others have said here, we definitely need to kill any mystique about Bama right now. You’re darn right, the Dawgs have better players! To heck with Sir Saban, to heck with all those national titles at Bama. And to heck with all the media types who seem to be licking their chops over a Notre Dame-Bama matchup. Seems to me the more interesting storyline is 1980 Herschel vs. Notre Dame/2012 Gurshall vs. ND! Fact is, the Dawgs should be favored by 10-14 points. Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!

I’d give Alabama the edge at OL and at coaching. There DE’s are probably better than ours too. Thats about it though….Ga holds the edge elsewhere. Problem is…if the game is won in the trenches and you give up the coaching edge…one can easily see why it will be on the tough side for Ga to pull this out. But….we have a chance and we can turn the tables on them if our OL can step up and coach Richt can get the Dawgs to play smart football. Lots of pressure on the Ga DL to play well and neutralize Alabama’s strength. Big John will need to play the game of his life.

Looks like bad news for dawg fans may be coming out of the SEC offices for the pile driver Ogletree put on the Tech player. Alabama had a player suspended earlier in the year for the same exact thing. It’s coming from my sources.

Really Rambo are you really that stupid. You are going to call a Nick Saban team less talented. It just shows the mentality of the UGA players. Wonder what is going to happen Sunday when they just lost this game. UGA is a good team when they play smart football but that was stupid and trust me Nick Saban will make Rambo pay for those comments on the field.

Well, there it went. With Bama, all it takes is a comment like that to tick them off. Rambo’s comment will no doubt be used this week by the Alabama coaching staff. Those guys take insults like this quite personal. This was juts plain stupid on Rambo’s part. In a game that quite possibly could have been deadlocked, he just gave them all the motivation and advantage they will need.

BREAKING NEWS: NICK SABAN ARRESTED

AP-Tuscaloosa
Authorities arrested Alabama head coach Nick Saban in the predawn hours Monday at his home in Tuscaloosa on animal cruelty charges. Saban, 56, was charged with 85 counts of animal cruelty in an alleged attack which occurred
Saturday night in Athens, Georgia.

Police said that as many as 92,138 witnesses saw Saban and a large group of violent young men under his control hit, kick, crush and destroy a large pack of mostly-docile bulldogs.

One officer was quoted as saying, “I haven’t seen bulldogs treated this badly since the Michael Vick case.”

Let your play do the talking BR. it sounds like the players needs some coaching on giving interviews as well. this is the time to be conservative with the interviews until you have that SEC or NC trophy in hand. Georgia is probably more talented but Alabama is more discipline, refuses to lose, and play hard nose football for 4 quarters. let’s talk about that BR.. you only get a trophy by being more talented in little league football.

Tampa, that is my fear. The entire playbook that Bobo used against Tech and Auburn will not all work. He needs to think and go to what’s working and adjust off their adjustments. That’s a tough one for Bobo.
