One of UGA’s veteran defenders has provided some of the first bulletin board material of the week in advance of Saturday’s SEC Championship showdown between the Bulldogs and Alabama.

UGA's Mark Richt (AP)
UGA safety Bacarri Rambo went on ESPN radio after Saturday’s blowout win over Georgia Tech and said some words that will surely get the attention of Nick Saban:
“I feel like we’re more talented (than Alabama). We have better players at each position, across the board, especially on defense. It’s going to be a great challenge for us. I know it’s going to be a battle. It’s going to come down to who has the best defense and who makes more turnovers. It’s going to be a battle of the defenses.”
What do you think? Is Rambo correct? Is UGA’s defense better than Alabama’s? And if so, should Rambo have made the remark? If not, why not? Please post below.
Saturday’s SEC Championship game will match up No. 2 Alabama versus No. 3 Georgia. Please check back all week for the AJC’s coverage of “SEC Championship Week”

@Back up your smack
Actually you are wrong “historically” speaking. UGa under CMR is great on the road. Maybe not perfect the last few seasons, but over CMR’s career the dawgs have played great on the road.

Wonka you are a idiot if you think that means Ga wins and poor kyle is as dumb as you are. i wish i could see the look on your faces after the game i know you will blame The coach for losing this one but he i have already talked about meeting in this game and he wants to win it just as much as you do the only difference is he knows how to express him self and you are just like all other schools we have faced. You think your guys are better, faster, stronger, and smarter. But i have to give them credit they are smater than you. What you don’t know is i pull for GA. when they paly any one else besides BAMA. But you would not know what Class is because you are a Child in a mans body We will see what happens but no matter what happens it wont change the fact that you are AN IDIOT!!! Little boy

Rambo has a right to comment on matters such as this; however, I wish he would be more tactful. Let me suggest to all of the Dawgs: “Walk the Walk” and don’t worry about “Talking the Talk” until after you have defeated one of the greatest football programs of all time. Go Dawgs!!! This game is for the MNC!!!!

Another sad, sad Tech. Fan heard once again. Your poetry is about as poor and illogical as your team is. Perhaps CPJ will be successful and you will be granted a waiver to a bowl game. Enjoy sunny El Paso again, and maybe you will actually meet a team you can beat.

Didn’t UGA give up 207 yards rushing to UK??? Hmmm….Alabama loves to run and when they get going they’re hard to stop.

[...] GEORGIA: Will play for the BCS title — some guy I know predicted they would — with a victory over Alabama on Saturday. Barometric reading: Three weeks ago, people were saying the Bulldogs would have no chance against the mighty Tide. A lot of those same people seem to have changed their minds, and I’m not just talking about Georgia fans. I’m talking about neutrals who see the ‘Dogs as no less talented as Bama. Just as Bacarri Rambo said. [...]

Well hell, we all know these boreds are just hot air and mean nothing in the whole wide world, but here’s my addition. I’m a Bama fan and live in Georgie, but I know Bama is not as good as last year and has been lucky this year to beat some of the poor teams they have played. I’m pulling for them to whup up on the dawgs, but I’m afraid it’s gonna ge Georgie by seven points. If it is a close game A J will not quite measure up to the occasion. Roll Tide! …..

Has Rambo been hitting those brownies again? LOL Bama is #1 in total defense, #2 in rushing defense, #3 in passing defense and #1 in scoring defense. Georgia is #22 in total defense, #67 in rushing defense, #9 in passing defense and #16 in scoring defense. I believe that says it all.

Rambo needs to check before he barks.Bama is #1 in total defense at around 233 ypg.The doggies aren’t even in the top 10.We’re 3-1 against top teams and georgia is a pedestrian 1-1. It’s gonna’ be the elephant stomp all day long…
Have a nice game.

you can say what you will about alabama geotgia has played two physical teams this year and one of them they got spanked and the other turned the ball over 6 times or yoiu would not be where you are now, so please keep the trash talk coming bama will use all the fuel that you give, is georgia good of course they are good but i wonder if they will try the black jerseys again

Living in Atlanta I see and hear a lot about Georgia and as a Bama fan I know a lot about the team. While I think Georgia is definitely on a roll, it is hard to understand why there is so much optimism about their chances Saturday. I have seen them struggle against every opponent except maybe GA Tech and the Florida game was one of the worst I have ever seen in my life (9 turnovers, 24 penalties between the two.) with all of this Georgia hype this week, once again Dawg Nation is set up for a major disappointment. I don’t think they have better talent at all and they certainly are not as disciplined. It’s over by the start of the fourth quarter.
