UGA baseball player arrested

University of Georgia baseball player Patrick Kyle Carter was arrested Sunday morning on alcohol-related charges.

Carter, 19, remained in the Athens Clarke County jail Monday on charges of public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol, according to jail records. Bond was set at $500 on each charge.

It was the second arrest in three months for Carter, a freshman pitcher from Columbus. He was charged with possession of a weapon in a school zone, a felony, and misdemeanor simple assault after he allegedly threatened a woman with a baseball bat Aug. 19. Carter denied he threatened the woman and said he was only trying to get her to leave his dorm room.

You bunch of self righteous cowards bashing a kid on here need to get a life. You act like you were never 18 years old and you dang sure must not have kids. Me? My two teenage sons were in Athens this weekend. You only hope and pray that they make good decisions. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.

Perno will investigate and apply the policy. That’s the way it works. He’ll miss some games and hopefully learn a leason. Thank god he was smart enough not to drink and drive. 19 year olds with alchohol aren’t unusual except in Alabama where no one underage ever drinks.

Frankly, no news here. College kid drinks and gets caught. Run the stairs at 5:00 for a couple of months and keep out of future trouble. And next time you want to kick a girl out of your dorm room, call security.

The big lesson for this kid is learn to think ahead and avoid trouble.

Such an accomplishment to swill beer. I swear these kids are so stupid now. Drinking isn’t new but you’d like to think risk/reward crosses their minds once in awhile. Than again, they’ve never been told no before so who can be surprised.

With the exception of Jarvis Jones I have to say Columbus has really disappointed UGA with the athletes we have gotten out of that great city. What is is that causes this? Crowell, Sanks, the kid at Ut who stole on his recruiting trip, Crowell’s buddy who quit, and there are more. Thank God for Jarvis Jones.

This is what happens when UGA signs 25 freshman a year when the roster limit is 32. Coach Perno and is Ass Coach Jason Ellers run one of the dirtiest baseball programs in D-1. Most of these frosh never set foot on the field; end up ineligible for a year if they transfer to another D-1; end up at JUCOs; countless good players’ careers get flushed — but Perno rationalizes that oversigning keeps the talent away from the competition. And lowly Furman U, with a losing record in the SoCon practically owns UGA; beats UGA every year.

Oversigning isn’t winning; it’s just lowering the talent level at the competition. Yes UGA went to the CWS, what 6 ? years ago. But that’s ancient history.

UGA needs to clean house in baseball — starting with Perno, the biggest chicken cheater of them all.

To “Put in Timeout”….seriously, you know you can’t prove it when they don’t stop/ticket/arrest/report it at Bama. Come on…That’s the point. Bama will end up on Probation AGAIN in year or two and Saban will move on.

Doesn’t matter anyway…BAMA is very vulnerable and we will spank that tail in the SEC CG….you can meet me back here day after the game and bow to my power. AND, it will be 2 TD’s , which is a beatdown in that game. Your QB will leave the game with an injury by end of 3rd qtr. Jones will live in the backfield , it’s gonna be ugly for Trailer Boys.

What do you know? Another dog player headed to the hoosegow. Surprise, surprise. Dog coaches must recruit at the state and federal prisons.

Hopefully he will get it right. Underage drinking is a joke in college towns anyway. The bars are full of players after games and yes they are drinking. Look at all the fights outside of bars. It goes back that most of these kids had parents that didn’t give a damn about them, or the parents were still partying instead of raising their kids right.

He has a pattern – time to go.
Punk.
I do love the people talking about ALL the arrests at UGA.
Pretty funny – so, if you do discipline/dismiss kids that get in trouble, you’re damned.
If you give them 3,4,5,…8 chances (AL, FL, AU), you’re damned.
This is going on everywhere.
You can’t have it both ways.
