Dogs are third in new BCS standings

Georgia is third in the new Bowl Championship Series standings, which were released Sunday night.

Notre Dame is No. 1 and Alabama is No. 2. All three teams moved up after Oregon and Kansas State were upset Saturday night. Florida is fourth in the BCS.

The top two teams in the BCS standings at the end of the season will play for the national championship on Jan. 7 in Miami.

If Georgia beats Georgia Tech and Alabama beats Auburn Saturday, the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will play for the SEC championship, with the winner advancing to play for the national title.

Notre Dame, Alabama and Georgia also held the top three spots in Sunday’s Associated Press poll.

In other college news Sunday, Tennessee fired coach Derek Dooley. Dooley, 44, had a 15-21 record that included an 0-15 mark against Top 25 teams.

#3? C’mon, with that schedule? Aside from Florida, who have they beat? Buffalo? Florida Atlantic? Vandy?

A perfect example why a playoff is needed.

THE NUMBER 3 RANKING AND SEC CHAMPIONSHIPGAME MEANS NOTHING IF WE DO NOT BEAT TECH. THE DEFENSE NEEDS TO COME OUT LIKE THE DID AGAINST FLORIDA THIS SATURDAY. WE NEED TO PUT TECH AWAY EARLY LIKE AUBURN.

Dawgs 10-1 and Falcons 9-1…and the only thing on our minds is this Saturday with the Fuzzy Bugs….

@Taco

UGA is the only Top Ten pretender ND could beat in my humble opinion.

Oddmakers in Las Vegas say that Notre Dame would be an underdog on a neutral field against any of the top “six” teams in the SEC..Like last year the SEC championship game is the national title game in spite of what GT Bob says.

I have no doubt that if the dawgs really want it they can play with Alabama could be a very good game. My biggest concern is coaching, Saban is hard to beat when it means the most but it can happen. SEC wins another NC.

I hereby announce that Notre Dame, Alabama, and Georgia will all share the National Title……its only fair to redistribute the Crystal Ball so everyone has a Chance to share.

Some of you people in Georgia need to get over the fact that a mixed-race person is going to serve two terms in the White House……and that the majority of the people in America do not think like you.

Now….back to college football.

Texas A&M (9-2) plays 6 teams ranked in top 25 and loses to 2, UGA (10-1) plays 2 teams in top 25 and loses 1, UGA ranked 3rd, A&M 10th….go figure, strength of schedule (NOT) …..perfect example of why the polls don’t mean much! Hope the DAWGS keep dreaming about that NC and the Jackets bring the heat! GO JACKETS put the DAWGS in their rightful place!!!

Also……like Otis…….

Some of you people need to get over the fact that Georgia did not play an overly challenging schedule this year and realize that they won the games they needed to win to be currently ranked number 3 in the land…..and if they beat Bama in Atlanta….they will be playing for the National Title. If that happens……they more than earned that opportunity. Florida blew it. Georgia earned it. Simple as that.

Tampa Gator—-why do you assume that the remark was made by someone living in Georgia. You see, my good friend Al Gore created this thing called the “World Wide Web” and you can leave comments on a blog from anywhere in the world. Its a fantastic concept. Google if you like.

Oh….and not everyone that disapproves of me do so based on race. Please feel free to get your head out of the gutter as well as your ass. Thank you and God Bless America!!

VCCJ….

I would almost be willing….ALMOST…..to leverage my home that Georgia Tech will not beat Georgia this weekend. No way….Georgia is just too big and too fast on D for the Jackets offense. And Murray and company will eat up the Tech lack of D. BIG, BIG win for the Dawgs this weekend.

Tampa -

You’re a Floridian on a blog for an Atlanta news site, for a Georgia football team, about a Tennesee coach. So my next comment seems valid (at least to people with IQs above 140.

More stupid people breed. More stupid people are allowed to vote. Stupid people make up the new majority. Stupid people get voted into the White House.

Make sense? I know it may be difficult for you to fathom. Take your time.

Can we get back to talking about football and the proposed topic now?

Would the Floriduh people please stop saying that the gayters gave us the game. Geez, Murray threw 3 picks in the first half himself. Hell, the Falcons committed 6 turnovers today and found a way to win. You lost because we’re better this year. Plain and simple.

UGA has no heart. UGA would have been trailing at halftime against Ga Southern if refs had not stopped Ga Spouthern on 4th down. Dawgs back down to earth by seasons end. Yes, vastly OVERRATED!

Disgusting picture of that one-eyed dog that’s ugly to start with.
Did you know that when you put a bulldog in the water, it sinks like a rock?
Did you know that the bulldog is the second-most untrainable dog (next to the bassett hound).
Aside from this, I applaud Coach Richt for doing what it takes to break the top 5. He is definitely a great coach, and will be remembered as such. If it weren’t for Richt’s leadership and knowledge, well . . .

Hey 3 in a Row, where do you think the “fake” USC team will watch the SEC Champ game? The same place they watched it last year, or the place they will watch it next year? Probably somewhere not in that Cesspool Columbia. I bet they want to get the heck out of that town.

Teams whose one loss was 35-0 have no business in the BCSNC game. It doesn’t really matter. No matter who the SECW opponent is, UGA will get crushed as usual.
