The prospect of playing for the BCS title may have some Georgia fans thrilled, but Vegas isn’t quite sold on the Bulldogs’ chances.
While Jeff Schultz has a tough time believing an SEC team will miss out on playing in the championship, the odds are not in his favor.
Georgia’s odds of making the title game stand at 20-1. Too high or too low?

Any team in the SEC not playing for the championship would trade places with the Dawgs in a heartbeat. Ask Spurrier.

If you go by the “Eye Test” they talk about GA doesn’t even qualify for a drivers license let alone odds of reaching the BCS Championship

Gbal; “quality win”. How do you define that? They have three wins against top 25 ranked teams (when they played them). How many of those does UGA have?

Can Ohio State even play in a bowl? I thought not…
These conversations are for teams and their fans that are bowl eligible. Go post on the “Dang! We got busted cheating and our head coach lost his job” blog. You Ohio State guys should be able to get a word in now that Lane is no longer in the Dog House… Tell Bobby P. we said “Sooie Pig”!!! However, you better get there quick because Gene Chizic will be there soon!

The Dawgs did look good Saturday and I think improving every week. OMG I hope those f’ing brownies (and other infractions) were worth watching the BCS Nat’l Championship on TV. This is the BEST team we’ve had in a long, long time but stupid mistakes kept us from glory. Imagine how that game in Columbia would have been if the same team that played AU last weekend had been there to kick Coach Superior’s butt.

I love all these people acting like it’s impossible. It takes 2 of 3 very very media overrated football teams to lose. If that happens the SEC champion WILL be playing for the NC….Bama or UGA.

The fact is, just because the ESPN talking heads want it this way, neither UGA or Bama stand a very good chance at making into the BCSCG. They say a 1 loss SEC team doesn’t deserve a shot over the 3 undefeated teams.
I say they’re full of hawgwash!
The fact that the SEC has won the last SIX titles speaks louder than ALL their words!
The fact that SIX of the top nine in the BCS standings are from our conference, SCREAMS that they’re all full of hocky!!!
I say, until another conference knocks us off in the title game, the SEC Champ should be a shoe in for the title game… no matter what the record!!!
Like ole’ Ric Flair used to say, “To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best”… and who’s gonna argue about who’s the best conference in the land?

Why don’t any of you say alabama and lsu didn’t have to play Georgia? I mean seriously, folks. we didn’t lose to #15. And why don’t you idiots look at SEC East and SEC West records? They are basically identical.
We lost to Carolina because spurrier, no matter where he is, hates UGA so much that he plans for that one game all year. His team plays lights out against us. Yeah, we lost and I hate it but they were #6 when we lost. After that they lost to lsu, who isn’t a bad team and is ranked in the top 10 (even though they also have 2 losses). Basically, we lost to a better team that you did.
And did that Ogre idiot actually say we didn’t play Arkansas? Seriously?! Arkansas? Do you even have a clue what you are talking about? Catch up. It’s not 2011.
Oh, and bama played powerhouses Western Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina and still has auburn, a group with a a combined record of 16 – 34. The overall record of alabama’s opponents is 59 – 59. Yeah. Tough run there.

Can we take care of business in the SECCG first? I’m hearing a little too much BCS title talk for comfort. We haven’t won the SEC in 7 years, let’s start there. That will require a great effort against a really good Alabama team, and maybe a break or two.
Why worry about things out of our control, like undefeated teams getting upset?

You can figure the odds yourself: What are the odds UGA beats Bama in the SECCG? Actually not too hard to imagine – - say 2 -1
What are the odds that two of Kansas State, Notre Dame, and Oregon lose a game before the season is over? That will be harder – - but not impossible, say about 2.5 – 1.
I think the odds are more like 5 – 1. Therefore, I am encouraging all UGA fans to go to Vegas and bet as much as possible on UGA making the BCS NC game,.

ESPN controls cash register and accordingly the Polls. ESPN hates Georgia. CMR is far too boring for ESPN. The only way UGA will ever play for the NC is if they are the only undefeated team. Even then I have my doubts.

i think the sec is the best league overall, but in no way does a 1 loss sec team get an auto bid to the NC game. the fact that an sec team won the NC 6 yrs running means squat. its not what the conf did 6 or 60 yrs ago. its what you did on the field this year. i love Bama, but they didnt lose by a missed field goal to the #1 team this year, they lost to #15 at home. if UGA beats Bama, they beat a 2 loss team as their best win. and UGA’s strength of sched is horrid. they got hammerd by SC, didnt play decent sec west team, and look at that pathetic non-conf sched. if 2 of the 3 top teams run the table, the sec sits it out this year. if they don’t and Bama wins out, they get a ticket as the best 1 loss team.

Watched a BCS show today on the U and several years the teams that won it all were anywhere from #4 to #7 (Florida) going into the last weekend… There is a ton of games left and we just have to beat Southern this week, sit back and enjoy our position….

87DAWG … well put.. While we would all like to win all our SEC games.. ain’t going to happen unless you are very, very special. Just having one loss is special enough… and the conference is just getting harder with TAMU and MIZZOU in the mix…That is why a top 4 makes sense going forward…

PFFT…. Dude, stay off the juice so you can type better… If we beat Bama, that means we beat an undefeated UF team that was # 2 at the time and probably a #4 Bama who may move up if the top 3 stumble and they probably will…. plus we have 6 in the top 10…. Uh, Scoreboard!!!! I agree that we should not jump an undefeated team as they are right now but what if the Plus 4 was in vogue this year.. None of them would want to play Bama or UGA right now…

bobdawg, sorry to offend your inner grammar police. but just like i said about past years, the playoffs are not in play so your point is, well you don’t have one. Scoreboard!!!!!!!, huh its called BCS Rankings!!!! again Bama has a shot at the NC game if they win out and top 3 stumble. but if the top 3 don’t the sec misses out. as for UGA, if 2 of top 3 stumble, and they beat Bama they still have no business leaping another 1 loss team with their resume from “this year”. blown out by SC, and they played GA southern, fla atlantic, buffalo, and if they beat Bama – a 2 loss bama. weak sched, no other way to put it. i actually like bama and UGA. but im tired of people saying a 1 loss sec team should be allowed to play for the NC, just because they are in the SEC. get it done on the field, not in the papers.
