UGA still behind Alabama in BCS, AP poll

Georgia failed to gain ground in the BCS rankings or the Associated Press poll Sunday despite No. 1 Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M.

The Crimson Tide, which had been No. 1 for 10 straight weeks, dropped to fourth in both after a 29-24 loss to the Aggies in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday.

Georgia, which routed Auburn Saturday and will play in the SEC championship game at the Georgia Dome, was ranked fifth in both.

Kansas State took the top spot in the BCS standings while Oregon was No. 1 in the AP poll. Oregon was second in the BCS, while K-State was second in the AP poll. Notre Dame was third in both.

Do you think Georgia should have been ranked ahead of Alabama? Do the Dogs have any path to the national title game?

Bama always gets gifts from the pollsters. They looked average the last 2 games and is the only team in America that would drop only 3 spots for it.

Makes me sick to see Notre Dame at # 3 knowing at least 5 SEC teams could beat them right now and the score wouldn’t be close.

Makes me sick to see Alabama ranked that high knowing they were losing the whole game at HOME to a mid to bottom dweller Big 12 squad.

Makes me sick to see Georgia ranked that high knowing they got crushed by a team that beat a team that almost lost at HOME to 5-4 Rajin’ Cajuns.

ESPN and especially Granny holtz spitting self and rest of media hate Georgia Bulldawgs and The Bulldawg Nation. Dawgs have to overcome more weak, candified stuff by far over any other college football team every year. BCS is Bulldawg Cheating System. BCS and ESPN have cheated us out of 2 National Title shots. Kansas State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, USC, etc we call you all out. Come play in the SEC baby, and look at your record then. You are all Pretenders and in no way should be considered contenders. Com’on Man.

UGA is spitting into the wind now with Alabama losing. Murray is no Manziel and you can pretty much say that with that loss yesterday to A&M Saban and the Tide will be beating everyone up and getting style points including spanking an average dog team in the dome.

Talk all the trash you want but now you have to live with fact facing Alabama just got tougher.

Georgia Bulldawgs and The Georgia Bulldawg Nation would go undefeated every year in Pac 12, Big ten really, little 12 is worthless and weak, Yeah Baby. We switch to those conferences, they are a joke. SEC is REAL MAN FOOTBALL. Anyone got any brass ones? Does any of the Pac 12, Big ten, or Big 12 go undefeated against SEC teams, players, coaching? Hell NO. Period. The truth will set you free.

One more thing the anti SEC groups are out in full force and they all seem to come from media so called experts who played or are associated with programs that have been irrelevant in many years such as Tim Brown and Eddie George. 99% of the nation was rooting against Alabama and the SEC yesterday.

Georgia doesn’t need to worry about where Alabama is ranked. That one will take care of itself on the field. Georgia’s only path to the title game is to win out, beat Alabama, and have two of the three undefeated teams lose.

Notre Dame still has to play at USC. K State has only Baylor and Texas left and I don’t see a loss there. Oregon has Stanford at home and then goes to Oregon State. Dogs need some help, but they’ve got to beat Alabama either way and that’s gonna be hard enough within itself.

SEC is strongest this year over the past 6 or 7 National Champions years. The polls tell the story. SEC teams knock each other off year in and year out. SEC #3 and possibly #4 would win National Titles if #1 and #2 were not in the game. Truth will set you free. Go Dawgs.

why would ESPN hold a grudge against UGA? probably just recognize that UGA simply isn’t a power program…the SEC’s version of Purdue or Rutgers…

Alabama losing yesterday really hurt the Dogs. If Alabama doesn’t rise in the polls, a Georgia win won’t do anything to propel UGA upwards. Also, that ugly loss at South Carolina will be the undoing if it comes down to Georgia being in the top three. All the talking heads were bringing that up last night when talking about ranking Alabama over Georgia. Dogs have to find a way to avoid the one game letdowns they seem to have every season.

SEC teams have to play championship Full Grown Men Football week after week after week. SEC can not play one big game over T exas and take 5 weeks off till you play who? Baylor? like Oklahoma has done for a century. Some Teams need to have their Championship Trophies from past taken away. Com’on Man.

Alabama still deserves to be the top 1-loss team. Their loss was not as bad as ours; their best win was as good as ours, and they have looked dominant more often. My biggest concern against top teams is our O-line. But I like that we are playing our best ball lately and that the defense finally looks very good. We will get a chance to prove ourselves against them on the field. Go Trojans and Go DAWGS!!

Texas A&M is no joke. They are going to better in the next few years. They will get the elite atheletes in Texas who would normally go to Texas or Oklahoma. They would love to be able to play in the SEC and stay in state. Johnny Football is playing lights out and only a freshman. Scary!!!!

“Makes me sick to see Notre Dame at # 3 knowing at least 5 SEC teams could beat them right now and the score wouldn’t be close.”

of all the delusional sentiments shared by rabid SEC fans, this one of “if (insert team name here) was in the SEC, they would have (insert number of losses, at least 4, here) losses at the very least!”

How could you possibly know that? you can’t.
The top teams in the SEC have won the MNC the last few years, no denying that. But for SEC fans, when one if their bottom dwellers plays a top team close, it is because the conference is so strong. When the same thing happens in other conferences, it is because they suck.

Take a look at some of the SEC teams this year:
Auburn
Tenn
Mizzou
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

seriously, do you think that makes for a strong conference? No, the SEC consists of, like all conferences, a couple of really good teams, a couple of pretty good teams, and a whole slew of terrible teams.

no surprise that bama didnt drop . pollsters and ESPN give them so much love that if it had of been Georgia number 1 they would have droped to 7th or 8th in the polls . They just trying to make sure Bama is there at the end to play in MIAMI . But Geogia can make there case at the GEORGIA DOME with a win against Bama. Thats the only way !

No matter

Doesn’t matter. It’ll sort itself out in the Dome.
What matters is Notre Dame. If they stay undefeated, I will GUARANTEE they play for the NC, regardless of what anyone else does. They will jump whomever is ahead of them, that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Sorry Notre Dame fanboy with the stupid blog name. You can comment on the Notre Dame hate all you want, but answer this question.

Do you really think Notre Dame would beat teams like Alabama, LSU, UGA, Florida, South Carolina or TAMU straight up? You can list off the bottom half of the SEC, but the reality is that Notre Dame is in reality a 15-20 team that is getting far too much publicity because of who they were.

There is not much to worry about though, as USC will take care of those Golden Pretenders. when that happens you can come back here and apologize.

I was at Bama game yesterday and really thought they were going to pull off a win with less than 2 minutes left. I don’t think they looked as bad losing as Georgia did losing to SC, but A&M was also ranked much lower than SC. If I had been voting, I would have flipped a coin to decide if GA or AL should be ranked higher. I do strongly believe that current BCS puts conferences with championships at a disadvantage due to an additional opportunity for loss. BCS should rank based on total wins not total losses-then the SEC champion would have same record as ND.

Besides LSU and Bama, what makes the SEC think they are tops? I mean come on, those two teams are miles ahead of NCAA football, period. Georgia is not in their league. Better give someone else a chance in the championship who could actually win. Have you seen their schedule for this year? I wouldn’t respect it either.
