UGA still behind Alabama in BCS, AP poll

Georgia failed to gain ground in the BCS rankings or the Associated Press poll Sunday despite No. 1 Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M.

The Crimson Tide, which had been No. 1 for 10 straight weeks, dropped to fourth in both after a 29-24 loss to the Aggies in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday.

Georgia, which routed Auburn Saturday and will play in the SEC championship game at the Georgia Dome, was ranked fifth in both.

Kansas State took the top spot in the BCS standings while Oregon was No. 1 in the AP poll. Oregon was second in the BCS, while K-State was second in the AP poll. Notre Dame was third in both.

Do you think Georgia should have been ranked ahead of Alabama? Do the Dogs have any path to the national title game?

kral…..

I had no trouble acknowleging that Georgia’s defense shut down a horrible Florida offense….and that Georgia earned that victory with two great plays…..Marshall and Jones. Florida did not make those plays…….Purifoy on Marshall……and Reed vs. Jones. But I still think Florida got ripped off when Easley was called for a penalty on 3rd down. But that did not win or lose the game for the Gators. Georgia was the better team that day…..

Notre Dame has done what they needed to do to be where they are. I think they have a very good team. Could they win the SEC title……probably not. But you could say the same thing about Bama, Georiga, Florida, LSU, SC….and others.

If Murray comes back….and I see no reason why he would go early to the NFL…….Georgia will have an outstanding offense next year. But they are losing a bunch of NFL talent on the defensive side of the ball…..very experienced talent…..that will be very hard to replace….including Jarvis Jones who is a goner to the NFL.

I had issues with the holding in the backfield call on Easley on 3rd down that gave the ball back to Georgia…..and Marshall score shortly after that. But that is football…….and that play did not win or lose it for the Gators.

Notre Dame would beat all SEC teams other than Alabama. Get over it you bunch of fools. The conference is good, but don’t think they are great. Alabama is the cream and the rest can stick it. Texas A&M beat them yes, but everyone plays Alabama like its the bowl game. Get over it because there is still football to be played. Georgia is not that good by the way. Bama by 21 at least.

Just imagine if the Dawgs had not laid that big ole EGG in Columbia SC earlier this season!
AND
Dawgs have the talent to complete with and beat Bama but they won’t. Bama will crush the Dawgs. Then the Dawgs will lose whatever bowl game they get. Then 5-7 players will get drafted into the NFL. Then the Dawgs will sign another top 5 recruiting class yet again. And the the beat goes on….year after year

Georgia can beat up on a little high school team and expect to be automatically moved to # 1. Everyone is not as stupid as you dog fans. You barely break the top 10. Of course we know who’s fault the high rankings is,, The Atlanta Urinal Constipation newspaper. Bama will beat the crap out of you!!! We can’t wait to get you over rated clowns in the dome.

Does anyone really think the Dawgs would go undefeated in the Pac 12? For that matter, would they have gone undefeated in the SEC West? Face it, the Dawgs had an unbelievably easy schedule this year. As shown this week, FL was terribly overrated when they played the Dawgs. The Dawgs are probably on the same level as USC, and would get beat by both Stanford and Oregon and who knows about Oregon State. (Who in the east knows anything about Oregon State???)

Georgia got embarrased by SC and has one decent win and really it was handed to them by the Gators. Bama should be ranked higher.

Doesn’t matter right now anyway. SEC Championship is THE National Championship for the Dawgs. Win and this year is a huge success. Lose (especially in a blow out) and this year is just like the last 5. Disappointing!

How many really top rated SEC teams has/does the Big Dogs play this year. Well the answer is only 2 !!! Wow how impressive!!! You only won 1 of those games and you are crying because you are not ranked # 1. Just in case you can’t remember some of the Big Impressive teams you play I will list them for you,,, Buffalo,,, Florida Atlantic,,, Vanderbilt,,, Kentucky,,, Auburn,,, Georgia Southern. Georgia Tech,,, Now please count them on your toes or fingers 7 teams that stink from A to Z. Yawl actually play two good teams! I guess when you get through beating up on Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech you will expect to have the National Title awarded to you without even playing anyone. Yawl are real tough, If you don’t believe it just ask the Puppy Dog Nation. Read all about it here in the Atlanta Urinal Constipation.

Since the Dogs are so tough,, Why don’t yawl step out and start proving it by having a decent schedule. Year after year you hand pick these small schools that you know you can beat up on. Step out there and play some of the teams in other conferences that would prove the Dog Nation is as tough as you say. I cant believe your fans continue to buy season tickets just to see yawl play these small teams. The Dogs are just a bunch of Bullies that like to pick on small teams that they can beat up on without taking a chance of getting your big fat butts beat! Cowards!

True MS, UGA has 4 OOC games, 3 of which they can choose the opponent. This years choices? Mighty Buffalo, Terrifying FAU, and the Oh So Formidable Georgia Southern.
Hard to cry for national respect and rankings when you don’t play anybody challenging. You’ve played two decent teams this year and gone 1-1, and both of those teams were over-rated when you played them, Fl. being the most egregious since you jumped up simply by beating the #2 ranked team at the time – who should never have been #2.
And yes, I’m a Tech fan, and we played a crap OOC schedule as well, but we at least scheduled one challenging team in BYU and we also don’t claim to be top ten (or five) material every year while playing no one of any significance.
So please tell me again why UGA should deserve to play for a Natl Championship when you have played no one at all besides SC and FL, and SC took you to the woodshed and FL gave you the game with their awful play.

6 teams from the SEC in the top 10 in the BSC. Enough said. I know Georgia didn’t play but two of them but after playing Alabama it will be three. Tell me how many teams in the top 10 did Notre Dame , Kansas State or Oregon play this year and don’t tell me a team that isn’t currently in the top 10 because all those team that the top three beat earlier should have never been in the top 10 to begin with. A teams schedule is ranked for hardness at the end of the year not what the idiot media thinks they would like the ranking to be at the beginning of the season.
