UGA still behind Alabama in BCS, AP poll
Georgia failed to gain ground in the BCS rankings or the Associated Press poll Sunday despite No. 1 Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M.
The Crimson Tide, which had been No. 1 for 10 straight weeks, dropped to fourth in both after a 29-24 loss to the Aggies in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday.
Georgia, which routed Auburn Saturday and will play in the SEC championship game at the Georgia Dome, was ranked fifth in both.
Kansas State took the top spot in the BCS standings while Oregon was No. 1 in the AP poll. Oregon was second in the BCS, while K-State was second in the AP poll. Notre Dame was third in both.

The bulldogs have played well and been blessed with an easy SEC schedule. They should remain fifth – beat BAMA in the SEC Title Game and earn it.

All of you arguing about the AP poll are silly. It means nothing as far as the BCS is concerned. In the Coaches poll which does matter. UGA is 4, Bama is 5. Which it doesn’t even matter where either are ranked (4 or 5) because both need two of the unbeatens to lose. If that happens and they both win out I guarantee you whoever wins the seccg will be ranked higher and play for the mythical national title.

I disagree that Notre Dame had even close to the hardest schedule and it wasn’t their fault that the use-to-bee’s were not very good this year. Polls should never start until at least 6 games into the year. At the end of the year is when we will find out which teams had the hardest schedule.
Right now the only teams Notre Dame beat worth talking about is Oklahoma # 13, Stanford #14 and Michigan #23RD. Everybody else has 4 to 8 losses. Notre Dame doesn’t have to play 8 games in a Conference or win a Championship Conference game. If Notre Dame played in the SEC they would have at least 4 losses right now and that would be very generous.

I cannot remember a time when the asthmatic dogs stayed up top for 10 weeks. Herschel is an old man now, we were both in school at the same time. Yes, you show some talent, along with an inflated sense of grandeur and entitlement. Come on, tee it up. There is no shame for us in losing to Texas A&M, they were fantastic, and we left it all on the field. If you’d get a coach who didn’t recruit disciplinary problems, you might have some legs to stand on.

I don’t believe Bama’s pass defense is horrible, but it is nowhere near as good as last year for sure.
And their DL is not as good either. If Georgia’s OL can protect Murray in Atlanta, Murray will pick at some big holes in the Bama secondary and Georgia can win the game in Atlanta…..and probably will. Georgia is simply playing better than Bama right now. But Saban has several weeks to get things fixed……and he is very good at it. We will see.

Exactly how did Florida luck out vs. Missouri? Florida’s defense dominated Missouri, as they did LSU and SC……and played exceptionally well vs. Georgia and A&M. You really think Florida came into that game yesterday with any interest….and it almost cost them. But really good teams find ways to win loseable games….and Florida won that game yesterday with a great defense and with great special teams play…..and not many teams play defense and special teams better than Florida this year. But, unfortunately, most teams play offense better.

I’m obviously a Jackets fan, and I can’t stand Notre Dame. Their only games of the season that I saw were the Pitt game and parts of the BC game, neither game did they look very good in, so I decided to look at their schedule assuming that they were being overrated again due to being Notre Dame.
Their schedule? Navy, Purdue, Mich. St., Michigan, Miami (Fl.), Stanford, Oklahoma, BYU, Pitt., BC, Wake Forest, and USC. If they make it through that unscathed, they most certainly deserve to play for a Natl. Championship. No way in hell that UGA would make it through that schedule with anything less than 2 losses, and from my vantage point, it would be more like 4 losses – Michigan, Miami, BYU, and either Stanford, Oklahoma or USC. I could easily see UGA losing all six of those games.
So keep on dreaming about your superiority to ND, it’s a major fallacy.

Tampa G, this was not to be BAMA’s year. This was a 2010 season. Too many young guys on the defensive side of the ball. It was next year that was to be the year. They are ahead of schedule in my opinion.
