Tennessee stops Kennesaw State in opener

Tennessee used a nine-point run to balloon a 12-point halftime lead to 21 and then held off Kennesaw State 76-67 in the college basketball opener for both teams at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn., on  Friday night.

Senior forward Aaron Anderson and sophomore guard Delbert Love scored a game-high 16 points each and  freshman guard Yonel Brown scored 10 and had three assists in his collegiate debut for the Owls.

Kennesaw State, which opened its second season under coach Lewis Preston, travels to Orangeburg, S.C., to take on South Carolina State at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

“Thanks for the great article!” ~Nobody

Put some effort into it next time. This was an impressive opening game for Kennesaw.

Yikes! go check out ksuowls.com. They’ll have a write-up for sure. I’m sure the AJC didn’t dedicate a writer to this game so they can only give a short write-up based on a phone call or a stat sheet.

@Kyle: Please don’t “represent” KSU with such horrible grammar and typos.

Any KSU alumni using poor grammar on blogs or in public will be tracked down and beaten by the Alumni Association, with my full support. However, it’s highly likely that such individuals were in fact education majors at KSU, and they are the morons that give us a bad name…

But can I also say to the AJC: as an alumni of the third largest university in the state, it would be great if we could get a little more coverage than a couple of paragraphs in the generic sports page blog. I guess we don’t really exist until we get a football team, right?
