Former Falcons QB ejected from press box

Former Falcons quarterback Bobby Hebert was ejected from the LSU press box Saturday night during LSU’s 21-17 loss to Alabama in Baton Rouge.

LSU officials confirmed Hebert was escorted out by police during the fourth quarter after ignoring warnings not to cheer or disturb sports writers and other media covering the game. Press box etiquette does not allow members of the media to cheer for teams. Rules are posted in most press boxes.

Bobby Hebert (left, with coach June Jones) played four seasons for the Falcons.

Bobby Hebert (left, with coach June Jones) played four seasons for the Falcons.

“He was disturbing other media members who were trying to do their jobs and he was warned twice,” LSU associate sports information director Bill Martin told the The Times-Picayune of New Orleans. “We had complaints from several people in the press box.”

Hebert, who played four season for the Falcons, is a sports radio host in Louisiana, broadcasting from outside Tiger Stadium prior to home games. His son, T-Bob Hebert, played at LSU, graduating after the 2011 season.

Hebert signed with the Falcons in 1993 and was picked for the Pro Bowl that season. He played for the Falcons for three more seasons before retiring in 1996. He started 41 games for the Falcons and also played seven season for the Saints.

Hebert was born in Cut Off, Louisiana and played at Northwestern State Louisiana.

I have had the opportunity to meet Bobby Hebert on several occasions when he lived in Atlanta and was working in radio covering the Falcons. He was very friendly and loved by all. Bobby is not a journalist and probably should not have been in the press box. Bobby is the type of person that would were body paint and scream during the entire game. That’s why Falcons fans and all football fans love him. Journalists and Press personnel need to be in the press box. Fans need to be in the stands. Love that crazy Cajun, but stay out of the press box.

First of all Love Bobby, he’s great. Terrific on Radio, hilarious stuff, of all the places he belongs in a stadium, the press box is not one of them.

Right idea, wrong place. Cheer in the stands, not the press box. The press box is a working environment, not the place for homers cheering on “their” team.

BS Patrol, Munson wasn’t in the press box. He was an announcer. Not the same thing.

no big deal—bobby likes to get liquored up for the games and lay it all out. He’s a party animal in new orleans.

alcohol probably played a factor – but the guy is passionate (and drunk) – not all bad. Just do it outside the press box

Problem #1 for Hebert: the rules were posted on a sign. That idiot probably can’t read.

Problem #2 for Hebert: dude is an idiot–always has been. If ANYTHING on his body was as big as his marble mouth, somebody might be impressed.

Problem #3 for Hebert: someone told this guy he is a media member. That’s pretty much diluting the definition of media as far as it can be. The fat dude on the treadmill beside me is technically a body builder. He’s in here doing what body builders do, he just sucks at it. Hebert can barely speak, is functionally retarded, and is an a$$hat to boot. Strike three, Bobby. Loser!

And T-Bag was the biggest blowhard waste of space ever to wear the LSU colors.

“You either love him or hate him”

This is the most overused cliche around. I have no opinion of him, so your cliche is invalid, Frank.

Hey, people we are talking Bobby Hebert…this guy speaks something akin to Anglo-French dog….throw in a few too many beers, some shooters and well, it was a LSU home game…and the booze is free in the pressbox….what ya’ll expect, a sober Cagin’ or something

I’ve sat near him at several high school games when TBob was playing. Wow, funny stuff. I can’t believe he hasn’t had the big one. Nice guy, very friendly and passionate. Wife was hot as well. I remember I was checking her out and suddenly, she is looking into my eyes. See was checking me out, I didn’t stand up for 5 minutes.

Bobby Hebert is an idiot and a**hole on WWL 870 in New Orleans. It’s hard to imagine a former Falcons player who hates the Falcons as much as that idiot does!

If he wanted to cheer all he had to do was buy a ticket and not use his media credential to get into the game for free. Come on, Bobby.

Hebert is a jerk. He threw the ‘92 playoff game for the Saints against the Eagles. His son was a loudmouth who was always in trouble at LSU. He used to host the halftime show on Saints radio, now they just give him a 45-second commentary.
