Home of UGA QB Murray, linebacker ‘egged and rolled’

A house shared by Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and senior linebacker Christian Robinson was “egged and rolled” Saturday, Robinson said on his Twitter account.

According to an Associated Press story, Robinson believes the vandalism was a result of the Bulldogs’ 35-7 loss to South Carolina Saturday night. “Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect,” Robinson said on his Twitter account. “Thought we were in this together.”

Here’s more from the AP story:

Georgia coach Mark Richt said he hadn’t heard of the players’ home being hit with eggs and littered with toilet paper until he was asked about the incident on his weekly teleconference Sunday afternoon.

“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”

Richt said every quarterback he has coached since he was an assistant coach at Florida State has had to have unlisted telephone numbers “because you know there’s going to be somebody to call and say something foolish after the emotion of a game. Unfortunately, it’s part of it.”

Six hours after tweeting about the ugly scene at his home, Robinson followed with another post that seemed to follow Richt’s advice.

“Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church,” Robinson tweeted. “There are more important things in life than wins and losses.”

While I was disappointed in the loss, there is no reason for someone to do something like that. That is totally classless. Reminds me of the debacle at Turner field Friday night. Embarassing. Robinson got it right. It is just a game and there are far more important things in life!

Good Attitude young man. Don’t let the foolish words or actions of a few tarnish the goo that you have done and continue to do.

Hate to see this for the players, there is no reason for this type of behavior. Fairweater fans to say the least.

At least Murray will be able to sleep this week and not have any more nightmares about Clowney turning him in to a handpuppet.

Unbelievable. No reason to egg and roll a house… Once again the team has a terrible game plan and comes out FLAT in a big game. On the other hand, I was glad to see fans litter the field at Turner(I was there, but not throwing debris). Atleast, the talking heads in the media can finally say we actually are passionate about a sports team. Ha!

Pathetic. And after last week, and what Aaron is going through in his personal life with his father, this just makes me sick. Hang in there guys. Aaron, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I understand the passion, but this kind of behavior towards a student athlete is appalling. If you’re going to be an A$$, at least focus on the real problem and go to Richt’s and Bobo’s homes!

I don’t condone vandalism, but if they were going to mess up someone’s property, why didn’t they do it to Richt? Richt was the architect of Saturday’s debacle.

I think this is another result of no accountability and leadership of head coach Mark Richt. He constantly blames his players for his own lack of ability to have his team ready to play and play calling and game planning. If he had the guts to stand up after the horrible game against USC and say this loss is on him for not having his team ready and making poor decisions during the game than this may not happen. People it is the coaches fault for the poor game on Saturday night not the players! I agree egging Murray and Robinsons house is completely horrible, but this is just another reminder that McGarity needs to step in and make some decisions regarding the coaches started from the top. If CMR contines to be allowed to make poor decisions and not have his team prepared to play, unfortunately these stupid things may continue. I hope not, but the fans have had enough!

His response is again typical CMR, “this just goes with the territory” Really!!! I doubt it very much!! You would think he would be angry about this! again no emotion or leadership! He does not act like he really cares.

Georgia fans at home games are the worst behaved in the SEC. This is nothing new. I am a UGA grad, and I was present when fans pelted the team with ice and bottles in the early 90’s after a loss to Vandy. This is shameful and cowardly.

Like the passion but it needs to be expressed in different ways. We all know it’s time for a coaching change at UGA. Put the energy into emailing and calling Greg McGarity.

That is embarassing …almost as embarassing as ESPN telling the world our little quaterback has been having nightmares about South Carolinas defensive ends. They should.nt have rolled his house but delivered some PAMPERS so he won’t wet the BED hahahaha…..I see Richt hasn’t been fired yet…. Sad

Think about the miserable lives of the young people who did this. They are so emotionally involved with something they could never do themselves that they act hatefully when the people they hold in high esteem don’t live up to their imaginary heights.

Once again the Alabama/Georgia state line becomes a blur. Bama fan, UGA fan…they’re all the same. This is the result of fans with pathetic little lives who have no real accomplishments of their own. College football players are kids who don’t deserve this crap.

UGA dropped the ball when Evans went out as AD. With MR’s knowledge of college sports, his recruiting ability and his strong code of ethics, he would be a great AD. That would have been a great time to move MR to the AD spot and open up the Dawgs head coach job to someone with killer instinct that will play ALL his players and not just his selected few favorites. I keep hoping we’ll stumble up on another Bear Bryant like Alabama did.

What is embarrassing are the Georgia Fans reaction to this game. One, we were overrated from the start of the season. Two, Ole Ball Coach will always have our number. Three, we are not a top tier program, we are a very good middle tier program. Four, we have a very good team this year, we need to support and get behind them. The world will not end on last Sat game. And finally for God Sake leave the freaking players houses alone. Those are somebody sons. How you like it to happen to you child. Freaking unreal the act of egging and rolling but shocking some are suggesting alternates to it.

…if they were going to mess up someone’s property, why didn’t they do it to Richt?

Don’t forget that Richt is a very wealthy man. He lives in an expensive gated community with tons of security. Vandals couldn’t get close enough to his mansion to do any harm.

We don’t have enough information to draw conclusions. Maybe this was about the ball game. Maybe it was about a girl or something. Who knows? If it WAS about the ball game, then the perpetrators are idiots, and I hope Aaron and Christian don’t take it to heart. I know “fan” is short for “fanatic” but this behavior crosses a very bright line, a fact of which I am sure that most UGA fans are well aware. We are still behind y’all. Just get out there and sic ‘em!

Bottom line is Richt will never win a NC. May not win another SEC title. Good for 9 to 10 wins. If that’s what the administration ay UGA wants they will keep Richt. The only way to voice our opposition is cut the money off. I for one will not renew my season tickets after this year.
