Home of UGA QB Murray, linebacker ‘egged and rolled’

A house shared by Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and senior linebacker Christian Robinson was “egged and rolled” Saturday, Robinson said on his Twitter account.

According to an Associated Press story, Robinson believes the vandalism was a result of the Bulldogs’ 35-7 loss to South Carolina Saturday night. “Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect,” Robinson said on his Twitter account. “Thought we were in this together.”

Here’s more from the AP story:

Georgia coach Mark Richt said he hadn’t heard of the players’ home being hit with eggs and littered with toilet paper until he was asked about the incident on his weekly teleconference Sunday afternoon.

“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”

Richt said every quarterback he has coached since he was an assistant coach at Florida State has had to have unlisted telephone numbers “because you know there’s going to be somebody to call and say something foolish after the emotion of a game. Unfortunately, it’s part of it.”

Six hours after tweeting about the ugly scene at his home, Robinson followed with another post that seemed to follow Richt’s advice.

“Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church,” Robinson tweeted. “There are more important things in life than wins and losses.”

“I am still upset about how Spurrier did not call off the thrashing. They continued to pound it down our throats and Clowney all but made Dallas Lee wear a ball gag.”

Didn’t know Dallas Lee played tackle. But I guess when I had my ‘thang’ way up your exit only hole, you were seeing a different game.

As a Jackets fan, I find this deplorable. These are young men, many of them teenagers–not professionals getting paid millions of dollars (even then, this would be uncalled for). Fans have gotten out of control with their expectations. This is an example of the bottom of low class. Folks, this is a game. A game! There are so many other more important things in life to get overly passionate about.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but the 3 teams which UGA has beaten in the SEC this year have a grand total of 1 SEC win, which occurred when 2 of them played each other. On the brighter side, combined SEC record on UGA’s SEC schedule other than SC or FLA? 1-15. Must be because it’s such a tough conference; those are really good teams…

I’ve never been a Richt fan and never will. He cannot get the most from his players. Aren’t you tired of having the rug pulled out from under you every year? Last year was great, but it was the same old thing. Win the East and utterly collapse after a fantastic start in the SEC Champ game. Time for Richt to go. IMHO.

Every year its the same drill—-all UGA fans think Richt is going to do something different and he never does—–one yard to go to score and what does he do—-he passes the ball twice—not once but twice. What kind of a whimp whould even consider doing something as stupid as that??? Well—————you guys know the answer———Its ACC football at UGA and it will not change until Richt turns 90 years old or the next flood comes———its like I said before—-all that passing only works if you have Joe Namath and some really great receivers—but even then you have to be able to run the ball in a positive manner——–Georgia needs a new life—I do not know what that is————but they have lost to South Caroling 3 years in a row and they rarely beat Florida at all——————face it folks—there is a lot of dreaming and hipe at UGA but not a lot of national championships—-i mean hardly any to speak of—–next year it will be the same thing all over again————a lot of hipe and BS and no cigar—I think I am on to their sales pitches.

You said it extremely well and the fools who did the egging/rolling really aren’t any worse than those who come on here making light of it and wanting the coach fired. It is pathetic that there are so many Single Digit IQ FOOLS that think you are nothing if “Yo team ain’t won a NC lately the whole world needs to be revised drastically”.

Hopefully God will see to it that they do NOT reproduce. These are the same DFINO that find fault with other teams like Bama, Auburn, Tenn, GT and Florida but are guilty of the same or worse behavior. They are also hurting the recruiting for UGA with all this BS is showing the world just how big of a fool they really are.

Have to agree with True Dawg calling out Lucinda and 80’s dawg as fair weather, just wish he had included TC, RNB, Ed Richter and Sick and Tired. Also wish I could place a bet against S & T’s claims of first, being a season ticket holder and second, if he is, against him not rebuying.

Jackets are 2-4, but they are playing some exciting ball. We only have the solace of being “so close, but yet so far”. We still support our team and our coaches.

What a gutless excuse for a coach! If i were in his position i’d find it very hard not to be pissed off and call the fans out for there classless behavior, but what does Richt do? Hides behind a skirt like he always does in fear of every hurting anyones feelings.
You know a real man was the lineman for the chiefs who called out the entire fan base for cheering when Cassel went down on Sunday!
People wonder why Bobby Cox was the most revered coach in Atlanta history its because he went to bat for his players.

I had that sinking feeling in my gut when the 1st polls came out. UGA should never be ranked higher than 15 pre season.
Typical CMR response to the loss. Sabin or Meyer would have to be restrained. CMR will always be a good coach but never an elite coach. As long as the boosters and sponsors pay up nothing will change.
Set your sights on something realistic, 3rd in the SEC East.

1- I read a few replies that blamed our running backs . Marshall and Gurley did a great job . Spurrier said that the ENTIRE defensive concentration was to stop the run, which he did. Malcome did a good job because South Carolina had a lot of reserves in the game late .
2- Bobo and Richt had a pretty good game plan in place, it wasn’t their fault.
3-Murray said he averaged 1 hours sleep for the previous 2 days. He was exhausted and that is why he was 10 for 31 passing.
4- Shawn Williams missed some assignments that cost us dearly.

Bottom line is the reason Georgia has been so successful is because they have had a balanced offense. When South Carolina shut down the run game because they keep everybody ready for the run, Murray had to be perfect throwing the ball which he was far from it. Georgia has way too good of a team not to end up 11-1 or 10-2. I don’t think Murray has the ability to lead us past Florida because of his anxiety problems. and not being able to control his emotions but I think we have a good enough team to win the rest because Murray’s confidence will not be in doubt. Sometime you have to accept reality and the reality is Georgia will end up around 10th best team in the nation and that is okay by me. Be thankful that we are not Auburn or Georgia Tech.

North Carolinians feel the same way about USC fans. Trashy and classless. That is why they love Spurrier. Still, he was a better coach in this game. It seemed to me that the UGA team didn’t even have a coach during the game.

I agree this was a cowardly, and totally deplorable act. However, it cannot be overlooked that Georgia fans have been once again duped by a QB who cannot win the big games & team which showed no heart. Those who say CMR shouldn’t be fired are kidding themselves. It is OBVIOUS the team was NOT ready to play Saturday, and that’s coaching, my fellow Dawg fans. I couldn’t find one part of the game that was in any way redeeming. It was a total team collapse, and there is no one other than the entire coaching staff to blame. If people are satisfied winning 9-10 games a season, then by all means keep CMR. I am NOT one of those people. The time has come for a change; maybe overdue.
