Home of UGA QB Murray, linebacker ‘egged and rolled’

A house shared by Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray and senior linebacker Christian Robinson was “egged and rolled” Saturday, Robinson said on his Twitter account.

According to an Associated Press story, Robinson believes the vandalism was a result of the Bulldogs’ 35-7 loss to South Carolina Saturday night. “Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect,” Robinson said on his Twitter account. “Thought we were in this together.”

Here’s more from the AP story:

Georgia coach Mark Richt said he hadn’t heard of the players’ home being hit with eggs and littered with toilet paper until he was asked about the incident on his weekly teleconference Sunday afternoon.

“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”

Richt said every quarterback he has coached since he was an assistant coach at Florida State has had to have unlisted telephone numbers “because you know there’s going to be somebody to call and say something foolish after the emotion of a game. Unfortunately, it’s part of it.”

Six hours after tweeting about the ugly scene at his home, Robinson followed with another post that seemed to follow Richt’s advice.

“Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church,” Robinson tweeted. “There are more important things in life than wins and losses.”

No need for this, but you players better realize that your play is very important to people. All this hoopla around college football and basketball it happens. It has created monsters in the fans, players and coaches.

So their house got rolled and egged – BFD. If the “Bulldawg Nation” can’t handle a little feedback from their fans, they need to go back to high school. Doesn’t sound like anyone got hurt, and tis the season, so to speak, with Halloween around the corner. You got your clock cleaned on national TV, UGA – grow up and deal with it. It’s going to be even funnier when GT does the same thing to the Bull Pups, heh.

#1 How does anyone know it was UGA fans doing this? Could it not have been SC fans, Tech fans, or Flordia fans? #2 Richt and his staff are 100% responsible for this loss for not having the team ready. They are PAID and guys like Murray and Robinson are not. If you are angry about the game like I am, let McGarity know that a 2-15 record against ranked teams since 2008 is unacceptable and it is time for a change in Athens.

And I think I speak for most fans when I say that if I knew about this yesterday and known where their house is, I would have helped clean it up.

Rather than egg the QB’s house the money should have been pooled with others to send a moving van to CMR home.

Those people are wrong for egging and tping his home. They should have been upfront about the whipping the team took and brought no more than four men to hold the QB and whipping him 35 times with a leather belt but being careful to only leave light marks on his buttocks only!;)

It is not known who did this. It could have even been some teens out for pranks. It is classless & stupid and if they get caught they will be arrested and prosecuted. Also classless are the ignorant posts by redneck uneducated anti-Georgia fools that draw meaningless conclusions.

Why didn’t they do Richt’s house, and throw a brick through the window while they were at it? Bama was able to get Curry out by that method, and judging by the limp wristed way that the AD has handled Richt, it may be time for the fans to simply run him out of town.

No chance of a coaching change after this season.

Get a grip folks. You don’t fire a coach that averages 10 wins / season.

Statistically, we are far more likely to end up worse, than better— example Tennessee.

The DAWGS will run the table and play Alabama for the SEC. I can’t promise a W in that game but it could easily happen. Think about it. We have the elite talent from the best state for college football in the country on our team – and they’re Alabama. The winning tradetion at UGA will kick in to this team and their going to be on a mission.

6th National Championship to UGA this year could easily happen.

GO DAWGS!!!

Again, when Richt experiences a loss, he falls back on his christianity. His church. He is going to burn in hell for leveraging his religion. How about the man just man up and say he got out coached, and had
his team unprepared? The man is a coward.

what a shame this kind of behaviror happens over a college football game, just wait till the playoff systems starts in a couple of years. i think we should do away with the bcs, the proposed playoff system and put sanity back into college football. lets go back to the old bowl system and have fun again. my daughter in law is a uga grad and huge fan and says she is done because the season is over since they have 1 loss…what a shame for the players and coaches too know there are fans like that out there.

Tennesse will fire Dooley after this seaon and hire Petrino. The east just got tougher. I am sure we will stand pat with Richt. Now we will have to compete with Petrino, spurrier, Muschamp. Georgia will have the fourth best coach in the East.

If someone did this to Richt’s house, or the house of one of his children, would he be so dismissive as to say “It comes with the territory”? It doesn’t appear to me that he really stood up for his players very much with his response.

How can anyone who watched that game say that the problem is anything but the coaching. Mike Bobo is an absolute joke as a football coach. Mark Richt will NEVER win a national championship at the University of Georgia, especially if Bobo is on his staff.
Herbstreit said it best, UGA has NFL prospect after NFL prospect, but there’s just something missing… and everyone in the Dawg nation knows what that something is.

Yea there are more important things in life than wins and loses. But, at least the players and coaches should have showed up. Ga was outplayed and definitely out coached. The coordinators did a pitiful job preparing the players for the game. It just goes to show you that UGA cannot get up for the big game like they use to. Mark Richt is a good man but he is definitly not a head coach. The way the players and coaches showed up in South Carolina was pitiful. I am a BIG BULLDOG FAN and right now I can honestly say that the players and coaches are a disgrace to the Bulldog nation. I would be embarrassed to show my face in Athens for a while.

Someone earlier mentioned great recruiting tool. Well, I assume it’s a techie since they are obsessed with everything UGA. I guess you could go to UGA where you may get your house egged or rolled, or, you could go to GT where you could get robbed and murdered. Hmmmmmmm……easy choice.
