Time for Friday’s Braves game set at 5:07 p.m.

The Braves will play the St. Louis Cardinals Friday at 5:07 p.m. at Turner Field in the NL wild-card game, major league baseball announced. The one-game playoff will be televised by TBS.

Kris Medlen (10-1) will start for the Braves against right-hander Kyle Lohse (16-3) of the Cardinals. The winner of the game will advance to the NL Division Series.

Ticket windows at Turner Field will open at 8:30 a.m. Friday to buy or pick up pre-purchased tickets in advance and will remain open until the end of the 6th inning. Standing-room only tickets ($18 each) are also available. Suite tickets are available for $100 each (includes a $25 food and beverage credit added to ticket).

Parking lots will open five hours prior to first pitch and the Turner Field gates will open three hours before first pitch.

The AL wild-card game will be played at 8:37 p.m. Friday.

The Braves would play Sunday if they beat the Cardinals.

Longtimefan: I’ve been here since Davey Johnson was a second baseman, but the post-season failures wore me down. Braves hitters have no heart or fire in the post-season, all they do is pucker up and make outs. I don’t like it, but it is the truth. I want them to win, but deep down I know they won’t.

The braves will beat the cardinals easily—but the time sucks due to traffic, work etc.

If you want to see it bad enough, you will. You’ve known it could be either an afternoon game or a night game for some time now.

I hope we don’t have to listen to Tim McCarver with his Cardinals-biased bullcrap. Can we get Deion to come out of retirement to throw more water on him?

For those bashing Atlanta fans for whining about the 5:00 start…..Atlanta is horrific for traffic, especially Friday evenings (which starts at 3pm and lasts until 9pm nightly). Unemployment is about 9-10% in greater Atlanta so ditching work…for most…is not an option. 5pm is a lousy start time for fans in this city….hopefully folks who bought tix can get there and be loud…before the national media rip us for being bad fans…

Nobody was complaining in 1991 or 1992 about the 4:00 NLCS start times..Playoff baseball should be a holiday..Your boss will understand, and if not he/she isn’t a true American

Atlanta Fan 28, you’re right. You have to live it [getting around ATL] before you understand just how insane it is. I lived in St Louis for years and it is nothing close to the chaos here. Should be a fun game. Both pitchers are top-notch, but Medlen’s been in a special place the past couple months. About as shut down as you can get.

Awful adjustment of the Wild Card by MLB, but you get what you receive, and it is what it is

Go Medlen, and certainly Go Braves!

Why does the American League get the prime time game? I think that stinks. It makes a big difference to the Braves and hurts our chances.

Surely, TBS wouldn’t throw skirt-wearing cheerleader Joe Simpson into the booth Friday. I know he has had some national games before but the way he slobbers over the Braves, I can’t imagine him getting within shouting distance of a microphone.

Just remember this….. Eventually, ALL streaks come to an end. With each game the Braves win, the odds on the streak continuing get worse and worse. I think the streak ends tomorrow, as the team that is the hottest right now(Cardinals, 17 wins in the last 21 games) will prevail, and a Braves team that has trouble scoring more than 2 runs a game will be send Chipper out a loser. I have constantly stated on this forum all season, that the Braves have a good team, but not a playoff quality team. They have already exceeded their talent level, and fans should be proud of their season, but… the end is near IMHO. GO CARDS
