Mom: Football league discriminates against 297-pound son

Herschel Walker’s mom once told Lewis Grizzard that she was not keen on her son playing football for fear of injury — to other players.

That’s not a concern for a Texas mother, who insists her nearly 300-pound son should be able to play peewee football against kids one-third his size.

According to the Associated Press, Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association President Ronnie Henderson said 12-year-old Elijah Earnheart is not eligible because at 6-foot-1 and 297 pounds, he exceeds the league’s weight limit for seventh-graders — by more than 160 pounds.

Cindy Earnheart, the boy’s mother, was furious.

“They would not even let him weigh in on the scales like every single boy out there,” she said. “He might be the size of a grown man but he’s 12 years old and he has feelings, too.”

Would you let your 12-year-old play football against a 297-pound child?

She said her son was a victim of discrimination (sizeism?).

“No one is telling boys who are too thin or too small that they can’t play football,” she said. “Why tell my kid he’s too big?

“Isn’t bigger better in football? Football is a contact sport. If you don’t want your son tackled, get him off the field.”

Henderson defended his decision.

“We’ve got little boys that play against him that are 85, 95 and 100 pounds,” Henderson said. “We have to look out for all the kids, not just him.”

Elijah could play for his middle school team, but since he hasn’t played much football he was hoping to gain experience against the little guys.

Cindy Earnhart told local TV station KTBC that she’s not about to give up.

“This is what he wants to do and I’m going to make it happen,” she said.

So he can play for his middle school team? But does not want too so he can beat up on kid 1/3 his size? Typical entitled dummycrat. I am sure Mom is hoping to get paid big $ because all these racist be abusing her child. Pitiful.

Really, she thinks he’s being discriminated against? How would she like it if when that child was 5 or how ever old he was when he weighed a 100lbs. if a grown over weight man jumped or fell on her son a couple of times… I’m sure she would call that abuse. Kids don’t develope that fast and that’s why we have rules in “pee wee” football. You should be ashamed of yourself lady, fussing about something like that. My guess is that you’ve pulled this “discrimination” card MANY times before. God help this country!

I hate it for the child but the rules have been in place a long time. Are they outdated? Potentially so but they are the rules set in place at this time. The boy does have an option with the middle school football team and he could learn to play against kids who are closer to his size. Granted, he may not get on the field for many games but going through the practices would help him develop his skills for future years. Mom is naturally being protective of her child and may or may not try to tackle this in the proper fashion.

I think that this all could have been avoided….Not one person in that league prior to weigh in mentioned the weight limits because WHY? It wasn’t obvious that this child was going to be above the weight limit?!! Surely mom has to realize that this could not be a safe situation for children that are required to be under 135 lbs? In our league the weight limit is set such that the player carrying the ball cannot be above a set weight in each age group…so he could play, just not carry the ball.

Nice bloated sense of entitlement Mom. I know it’s hard for big kids who mature early. Same happened to my son. I really do understand as both my kids were very big and tall for their age. People always look at physical size and expect that the kid should also be more mature mentally and emotionally as well, which is not fair. But hey, that’s the cards you’re dealt. Turn it into a positive instead of teaching your kid that world should accommodate him.

This kid is very, very large for his age and it seems to me if he were a real competitor that he would want to take on the “big men” in middle school and make a name for himself. he’s worried about playing time? Gee whiz, with his size he could play Defensive Tackle with no experience at all. As my coach use to say “just plug up the toilet” and let the Linebackers make the tackles. This is much ado about nothing. Play Middle School Ball big guy and make a real name for yourself.

This woman has a point, but I’m not sure it should have been taken to this level. Why can’t she get him in a upper level league? There’s no way he would benefit from playing against kids half his size. I wouldn’t be afraid of letting him play though… the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I really don’t understand what the mom is trying to pull here. She clearly has no sense of “fairness” from any other perspective than her own. Put him on the middle school team and just shutup. He’s not going to get any helpful experience from beating up on kids that are less than half his size and up to 2 or three years younger than him. If she wanted “experience” for him, where has he been the past couple of years??? Just an asinine excuse.

My first thought was how is it even possible that he weighs that much? When my oldest was 12, he was about 6′1″. He’s now 14, and is 6′4″, but he only weighs about 180lbs, and this is after starting to do weightlifting for strength for basketball. And, he still eats everything in my house. I just can’t imagine if he weighed almost 300lbs.

Even though my son was just as tall as him at that age, I still would have had an issue with him playing football with a child that weighed that much.

I feel that either decision this Pee Wee makes they are going to get sued. If they don’t let him play the Idiot Mother will Sue, but if they let him play someone gets hurt then they get sued for not looking out for the safety of the other players.
If the mother was even the slightest bit concerned about her kids feelings perhaps she should put him on a diet as I am sure the other kids are already making fun of his huge size.

@Dawginit – Amen. He should be playing with the kids his own size, and if they whip his behind because he can’t actually play football, well, perhaps he should learn the sport.

The reason the kid is so fat (he is tall too so not all fat) is because his mother is fat and she doesn’t want to feel bad, so over feeds him to stay fat so she can feel secure about her gorging out and her obvious obesity.

I feel in most cases, when the whole family is fat, the cook is too concerned with keeping everyone at their own level to shore up their tiny self-esteem.

This mother’s appearance and her inexplicable and indefensible rants and arguments seem to confirm my thoughts. She is selfish to the core. I might even bet you that the kid wishes this would all go away, or that he could find another team with bigger/older kids, but his mother is pushing him to beat up toddlers so she can brag about how her boy is the best… at least until he is legally disabled at 18 years old and 450 lbs.

Judging by the looks of the mom, she’s probably just upset that she can’t resolve this dispute on Jerry Springer. If this kid had no other option to play, I could halfway understand her pushing to let him play against the little guys, even though it still wouldn’t be safe. But the fact that they’re whining about this when he could go out for the middle school team is an absolute joke. I regularly see guys who have never played the sport before go out for it in their sophomore or junior year of HIGH school, and some of them are even undersized. This kid would still have a huge size advantage against most middle school kids. Too bad for him his mom is trash.

That might be true in Jerry Springer cases but in general that’s about the dumbest assessment of obesity I’ve ever heard. Maybe the answer is more practical? I dunno, if the parents are fat perhaps they like to eat fattening food and since most kids don’t fend for themselves they eat what parents prepare?

This mom is stupid for not considering the reality of the situation (rules, danger, etc) but surely we don’t need to make things up to justify our opinions on the matter.

Somewhere this boys mother has lost a marble or two and the boy is just a scared little triple oversight kid-Common sense should tell the mom that her son is tooooooo big to be playing, falling, tumbling over others kids that weight around a 100 pounds-if the boy want to play he must go and play with kids that is more compatible to his size and weight maybe the (Green-Bay Packers) The coaches and little league officials are not wrong they are doing what they should do and that is not let oversize kids play with the the other kids because he is to large regardless of his age, he should go to the next group.

There are two troubling issues here. First, as we are all learning serious and permanent injuries from head trauma occur among professional football players. So we must be concerned about children who are playing these games just for fun. What about the tiny child who is at the minimum weight and just wants to play for fun. I agree with the league in removing him from the team. This child larger than an adult male. Why would he not want to start off playing with kids at his school. Many of them have probably not had the opportunity to play in pee wee and are playing for the first time. Yes he is a child and he has feelings. But I suspect at his size and age he has had to learn to deal with unpleasant situations prior to this.

Secondly and most importantly, I have a problem with parents who expect legitimate rules to change because their child does not fit the mold. These are the same parents who bring young disruptive children to adult gatherings and allow them to run loose. These are the same parents who want everyone to stop eating peanut butter because their child is allergic to it.

In a civilized and just society there must be rules. And yes, sometimes these rules will prevent some from participating. It is like the person who misses the cut off by one point or is one year too old to get a benefit. As long as the rule is not ethnically or gender based discrimination, then it should allow.

In the end, I fault his mother for subjecting him to this kind of publicity. I also fault her for not seeking a different way for him to learn to play. By the way I bet older teams would be glad to take him and help him develope. Shame on you Mom for putting your son out there like this

Here in GA, most youth leagues are weight restricted ONLY for the ball carrier (Ex: 10yr olds ball carriers must be 125lbs or less)…at 12u there is NO weight restriction on ball carriers. Leagues such as the GFL (Gwinnett Football League) & YFA (Youth Football Alliance) there are NO WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS PERIOD.

So what’s all the fuss about?!? Sounds like TX needs to adapt to modern times & get rid of weight restrictions, because once a kid enters middle/high school everyone certainly won’t be the same size!

My question is why hasn’t some middle school or high school coach stepped up to train this kid & groom him for future varsity success?!?

Pound ball is a joke. There are leagues near them that don’t have weight limits, but weight restrictions (like a lot of the leagues here in GA), meaning he would have to play on the line (duh, that’s where he’d play anyway). I had two tackles at 200+ on a seventh grade team. Hope he’s got good feet because if not the size won’t matter. Those smaller kids will shoot the gap or get the edge on him every time if he can’t move. If I coached in Dallas, I’d grab this kid. He does need to shed some LBs though.

My son’s have played rec league football and I certainly would not want them playing against someone who is larger than most of the coaches. The rules are in place for the safety of the other children and to promote a fair and balanced “recreational” sport. If I were the middle school coach, I would be ecstatic to have him on the team and certainly would want him in High School. If nothing else, he is going to occupy several opposing players. My heart goes out to him that he cannot play on the Rec league, but his mother should realize the situation is what it is. She is definetly making it worse.

I understand that her son has feelings and after all he is a child; however I don’t understand why she refuse to understand why her son is not eligible to play pee-wee foot ball. Maybe when he get in high school he will be able to play. He’s just too big. Children are resilient and he will get over it. She is making a big deal about it and she really shouldn’t. If my son was in pee wee football I certaintly wouldn’t want him playing against that young man…plain and simple..he is way too big for pee wee ball!

This “boy” is in middle school so why not play on the middle school team? Isn’t this the same mom who was accused of “growing” her own athlete? She has been feeding this kid growth hormones that are meant for livestock not children. I know most kids this size start getting the hormones at age 6 so they can grow up and be a million dollar athlete and put momma on easy street. They need to test him for the hormones and then put her in jail.

Move him up to a league with kids closer to his weight, Like the 15 year old kids———- he will have a size advantage still but the older kids will have a more mature football intellect which would level the playing field.
I am from an old school and when I played football in little leagues that was how it was done and that works for the overweight and underweight size players.

Your Body Mass Index Results

A 12 year old (male) child
who is 297 pounds
and is 6 feet and 1 inches tall has
a body mass index of 39.3,
which is over the 95th percentile,

and would indicate that your child is overweight.

This mother is worried about the wrong things. She should be worried more about her child’s HEALTH. Take him to a doctor, and get him on a strict diet. If she doesn’t, she is going to lose him to heart trouble, high blood pressure and/or diabetes before he’s 40! Hi! Uh, how did this conversation become political? And why did this become about Democrats vs. Republicans? And why the hatred? The sun is shining. It’s a beautiful day. Get out and see the world, even if it’s on your lunch break.

As far as the kid goes, the middle school team has unlimited weight, but it seems like he’s afraid to go because he never played before. So someone needs to talk him through it and get him over his fear.

By the way, this happens EVERY YEAR! This isn’t that big of a deal. He just needs to know that in order to keep youth football safe, you need to have those weight limits. It’s also to protect him, as well; because he won’t be able to properly tackle and block if he’s playing with kids that small.

But seriously, folks… not everything is Republican v. Democrat; or Liberal v. Conservative. Sometimes, it’s just about a 12 year-old scared kid and a protective parent looking out for their child’s interest.

Yes, but you also have to use reasonable logic, not “entitlement” which is lost on the few who have their hand out for – “MINE”. The 99% need to be protected which is why there are rules in every aspect of life. 5150 gave you a good example..

@5150 C’mon man sounds like you could use a little anger management in your life, because breaking a CHILD’S knee is not the answer to the problem. His mom could use some serious counseling if she thinks it’s okay for a 12 year old to weigh 297lbs. in the first place. We as a society need to stop the name calling and the violence we try to inflict on one another.

HELL NO ..he should not be -playing with those little kids! Maybe his mom should put Michelle Obama’s childhood obesity program in place in her home! This is the sign of a parent trying to gain the simpathy vote on what he or she is NOT doing. Instead of complaining about why he can’t play due to his size, MAKE him get out there and practice and weight train with them to TEACH his good sportsmanship (not to mention that would help prep him for the next league up in weight class or school! Come on parents let’s look at being the one to help out own kids cause YOU are killing them.

This isn’t the whole story. The kid doesn’t have enough experience to play for his middle school. The Pee Wee league also has multiple players over the weight limit. They just have to play O-line or D-line and wear an X on their helmets. This is why nobody reads the ajc.

Let’s see… she criticizes the smaller kids parents for not wanting their kids to get hurt by her big kid, but she won’t let her big kid son play with other big kids who are his own size because HE might get hurt. Talk about self-centered and self-absorbed.

Here’s the problem: Where’s Dad? My Dad would have made me (actually, DID make me) play with the big boys, not bully smaller boys on peewee teams, most of whom won’t be able to cut it when they get to middle school and high school football anyway, as that’s often where the boys and the men separate. This kid clearly has the size to potentially make a good run at football, but not until a Dad steps up and encourages his son to step up and start turning into a man. This guy needs some real men around him. Sadly, his Mom is going to prevent him from ever cutting it unless some other men come into the picture.

@JOHN……….what weight and height are the X helmeted players?

I posted VPI players weights and you really think this kid is a PEE WEE?
If he wants the EXPERIENCE then MOM can PAY for him to go to one of the TRAINING facilities to LEARN the game without risking the other children’s health too.
High School/ College/ NFL players go to TRAINERS to Improve their skills to get to the next level. maybe this kid’s MOM should PAY to send her kid to these people to get him ready for the NEXT LEVEL and avoid the injury risk to other children for now.

Majority of these kids unlike your son are not big enough to play middle school football, which is where your son belonged in the first place. So do everyone a favor and just shut up. You have had your 15 minutes of fame been on the news talk shows radio just shut your head. Your son was not picked on ridiculed or any other adjective you may think of. Having coached youth football for a number of years I have had to tell many kids and their parents he’s never going to make weight, it is what it is. Just STOP

Mom needs to be more concerned for his health! But here are the facts, in some states for rec ball kids are not required to complete a physical. However, this is a requirement in the school systems…THUS UH HA! He can’t pass the middle school physical. This is her real issue. My son plays rec ball and he is no pee wee, but he is not Goliath either. I coach middle school and had a kid that was a first year player and weighed 250lbs. The mom is stupid. That kid needs to be at the middle school playing. He ate his way to 300lbs while sitting on his butt. I blame the mom. That Pop Warner rule has been around for years. They actually recently upped the max weight per level. And in Pop Warner, oce you are certified, they allow you 1-2 lbs per week. Either way, that kid could NEVER EVER get certified to play Pop Warner. The key phrase is Pop Warner. He can try and find another pee wee league with softer rules since he scared to play at the middle school level. They will allow overweight kids to lay, just on the line….with a weight sticker on his helmet.

Yes, he’s being discriminated against – by the NFL. Let him play there!

I’m sure mom wouldn’t want 400 pound linemen pounding on Lil Eli, would she? (Well, I mean if she wasn’t a kook.) Him playing against pros twice his skill level would be as overmatched as his age group peers would experience playing against him.

By Playing with older boys, he may be ruined as a player. He may not be mentally be ready to play with guys older or at his weight. That’s why they don’t through every rookie QB first in the NFL. At least some are the guts are your peers. He is in a had place. As a parent, I wouldn’t want 297 lbs falling on my son. My sm’s 13 and may weigh 115 lbs -maybe. It could be the parent in me though as a 12 year old i played against a guy that was either 179 or 279. Name was Palmoroy (somehing like that). I wasn’t concerned as he would never catch me (RB) and it never seemed to be van issue.
I know i was no more than 112 lbs. Just make him play lineman or something, less chance to hurt the other kids.

The most absurd part of this is that this kid is scared to play middle school football. While the 12 year olds are 1/3 his size, I doubt he would find more than a dozen kids on each middle school team that were even half his size! He is still going to be the biggest kid on the field by well over 100 pounds in most games!

Are we forgetting this kid is about one biscuit short of three bills?!? If he can’t dominate against middle schoolers at that size, regardless of his experience, he needs to go ahead and start learning to play soccer.

Just my opinion.

I have 3 kids on my team that weigh over 230lbs at 11/12 at a middle school, that all are 1st year players. The are fighting for starting positions on the line. This is called LIFE. The heaviest on of the 3, probably will not start. Why? Because he is lazy and it appears his mom babies him through his lazyness. I have yet to get the kid to run a complete lap yet and we have a game Saturday. He will be more than likely struggle to get playing time in that game.

All of you are being cruel. Making such comments about mother and son being ‘fat’ are uncalled for. Unless you’ve been in their shoes, you don’t know how they feel. Have you ever heard of glandular problems. My mother was 5′5″ and weighed 329# once. She had a thyroid problem and couldn’t help her weight. Finally, she found a doctor willing to take on her case. I agree he’s a little too big to be in the Pee Wee League, but to rake them over the coals is just wrong..

She’s worried about her son’s “feelngs,” yet all she’s done with this media attention is further embarrass the poor kid. I agree … if he really wants to play, play middle school ball. If he develops, he’ll do well in college and pro one day. Mom’s a turd.

Let him play, he has to catch the kids first. At that size he would be out of breath and wouldn’t be able to catch anyone on the filed unless he sits on them. His mother should be ashamed of allowing her son to eat himself into a early death and numerous health problems.

The ANGRY WHITE MAN needs to learn how to check his anger. WTF is your problem ANGRY WHITE MAN? At least the Black and Brown man has SOMETHING to be angry about. You have had the PRIVILEGE of controlling so much and calling all the shots for so long, even when you deceived and exploited, raped, pillaged and terrorized to gain and keep the advantage. You have used your privilege to deny all others the benefit of the doubt and marginalize them, no different than you do with this CHILD! Your SURPREMACIST complex leads you feel that you can without justification put someone in a social, political, or ethical box. It’s a shame that you believe your chzyt doesn’t stink ANGRY WHITE MAN! Now please don’t get this confused (White Americans) because this is not aimed at you if you do not subscribe to what I DEscribed. I must say though, the problem lies in too many otherwise good people turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the ANGRY WHITE MAN, and allows his nature to cause chaos, only to then not understand when a reactive society reacts accordingly.

Football workouts in this heat while carrying those pounds on a 12 year old frame? I fear the young man would encounter serious health issues. If he is allowed to play with children so much smaller, the other parents should pull their children from the team for their safety. Then no one gets to play. That would be the outrage, allowing dozens of youngsters to be denied when they meet the requirements in order to placate a mother who demonstrates no common sense.

LOL at some of you idiots who are saying “don’t call him fat, that’s cruel, you don’t know what he’s been through, maybe he has a thyroid problem” HERP DERP cool story bro!

It’s crazy how every fat person in this country now blames their disgusting fat on being “big-boned” having a “thyroid problem” or the best one–”genetics”. Stop coming up with excuses for being a sedentary clown who can’t control your diet and exercise regularly. It’s pretty sad now how fat elementary school kids are because parents let them sit home all day and play video games/iPhone while eating pure garbage, when they should be playing outside like my generation.

1 pound of fat is 3500 calories. So, if you eat 500 calories above caloric maintenance for a week (500*7 days) then you will put on 1 pound. This fat 12 year old kid has been doing that for who knows how many years…most likely he has been taking in ~4000 calories/day from cake/coke/fried chicken/poptarts/etc while his mom joins him, and this explains why they are both >50% body fat.

The people who are supporting this kid and his mom are most likely fat whales themselves who have a “my sh*t don’t stink” attitude and support the new “fat (i.e., whale) acceptance movement”

ITS THE PARENTS FAULT

Here is something to think about. Has anyone considered that kids that are absolutely obese are that way because their parents are negligible? I mean look at the picture, they are both obese and it does not seem because of illness but rather a low quality, high sugar, high carb diet. I am thinking this kid eats WAY TOO much and so at 11 they think this is good because he can be good at PEEWEE football? I am a 6′1″ adult at 43 years old and am overweight at 220 pounds. In fact I am borderline obese and so I have changed my lifestyle o loose weight. Someone should focus on the poor upbringing that this woman is giving this monstrosity of a child. Now to follow up with low quality parenting she is introducing him to entitlement. Rather then focusing on the things one can do such as; start an exercise regiment to teach him life lessons of weight and quality of life. Put him on good quality, high protein foods with low sugar and low carbs. No chips, cookies or soda. IN the meanwhile putting the kid in middle scholl football would in fact work him out harder and then further improving the boys overall health with is what the most important thing is at this point in this kids life. If not, he will be the next biggest looser at 18 and 450 pounds.

It is not ANGER……….it is the FACT he/mom don’t want to play be the RULES……
Where is BABY DADDY?
Is Baby Daddy playing by the rules and providing for his kid and spe.m bank?
The KID’S Mom thinks the RULES shouldn’t apply and that he is some how being kept from playing football. but that is not the case.
The HUGE kid has other OPTIONS to play ball, but mom wants a SPECIAL RULE made to let him play in this league.

Why all the political crap? Yes, the kid is large & so is his mother. A sad commentary, show me an obese kid & I’ll show you obese parents! What this woman needs to realize is that pee-wee football HAS WEIGHT LIMITS! They have had them for years (at least since the 70’s). Evidently she does not understand that when 300 lbs lands on 80-90 lb child, it will make the smaller child a greasy spot or something worse!

He needs to trim down 50-60lbs or so. At 6′1, he’s way too heavy. He also doesn’t need to play w/ kids 1/3 his size. I was 3″ taller than him (at that age), but 100 lbs lighter. He needs to focus on conditioning for the next year + and ready for HS.

First to “ALL OF YOU OBAMA HATERS,” This about a young man playing football!! UNDERSTAND?? What has Mr. Obama to do with this?? Second, this boy’s mother should be VERY ASHAMED of herself. She has NO REGARDS for the safety of any of the other players who are within the weight limits. She ONLY CARES that her BIG SON be allowed to play football, but at what cost! She is the problem here. I say let her sue! If she wins, then as a parent, I would withdraw my kid from that league and place him and a league where the rules CANNOT be contested!! FIND THE RIGHT LAWYER(S).

BTW, the kid isn’t really to far out of shape. He’s a big kid, not a fat kid.

I wish I had the kid for a season. As a football coach, I probably would have had his college enrollment all situated within a year- with that size. All you got to do is give him some confidence, weights and good running shoes.

If I was him I’d want to play pee wee football also. Talk about dominating the league! :)

People have no sense about them sometimes. Rules are in place for a reason. If that young man puts all of his weight and strength into one of the smaller players he could kill that kid. But no, it’s just a hate league discriminating against her son. Give me a break.

It is odd that the coaches let him practice for three weeks. His own teammates could have been injured in that time. The way this was handled was bad. If she had any respect, she’d tell her son that there is a weight limit and there is nothing “peewee” about him. Sometimes that’s the cards you are dealt and it’s not fair, but guess what, neither is life! Deal with it! Maybe mom should go back to school too and learn some respect for others! Seriously, I understand wanting your kids to have every opportunity possible, but sometimes that’s not possible. You have to adapt. So get the boy into some proper training and get him ready for high school football. Trust me, he’s gonna be a tank and teams are gonna want him if he’s good. Shoot he’s the size (and to some bigger) as most NFL players! I wouldn’t want an NFL player tackling my 12 year old!

I know I coached my son for 9 years in Recreation Football. Not sure how the Texas rules are but I know here in Georgia for most parks now they play age football and limit certain kids from running the ball depending on the weight of the child. At his size and age 12 no doubt he needs to be playing for the Middle School and not the recreation football.

Yes he is a big kid but that does not mean he is going to be a stud on the football field. My son is a Freshman in High School and at the age of 14 he weighs 150lbs. but has no kid on his team that can touch him on the field. I have watched the practices and he hits the boys that out weigh him by more then a 100 lbs. winning the battles every time. Several times he has hit boys over 250 and not once does he get knocked down. It is all about being tought the sport the proper way to play and hit without getting hurt. Football is a game of contact and injuries do happen……

Good points “Dale”:

If he IS allowed to play and another child gets hurt, the Pee Wee organization will get sued by the “rule following parents”….that is an Obvious WIN/Slamdunk for the bottom feeding attorney (that probably has a sign hanging on the field fence promoting his biz). Now
…..if the incompetent Mom, is allowed to have his Son play…..She should be forced to take out a Fully paid for multi-million dollar “Personal Insurance policy” incurring that if another child is hurt, she and only she is Fully responsible for all mental, physical, legal and misc. cost associated with any and all claims…..Bam !!!

Common sense should tell one that a child weighing nearly 300 lbs does not qualify for PEE WEE anything. Pee Wee implies small, undersize. Not XXL. The mother should be ashamed of her disregard for the safety of all players and for allowing her son to reach his present size with no thought to his physical fitness. Perhaps he ought to consider a non-contact sport?

I coach football in Sanfrancisco we play in a league that has no weight limit AND WE DO HAVE SOME BIG BOYS ,our o line averaged 6-1 280 7th and 8th graders , our toughest and hardest hitters were the 5 – 9 to 6 foot players 170 to 200 pounds . We were really good this year but are line was the weak spot .In football low man wins, just because your tall and chubby doesnt mean you can play the game, speed kills .Young big guys aren’t coordinated enough to dominate.Later when he gets in highschool I can see dominating , junior senior year, .We had two guys 8th grade 6-4 320 and 6-6 340
