Another football poll is out today, and unlike the other ones released this year, this one actually means something.
The USA Today coaches’ poll is used as a component of the BCS formula that ultimately decides who will play for the national championship.
The USA Today poll was released Thursday morning, and LSU is atop the rankings.
Georgia comes in at No. 6, one of seven SEC teams in the poll. Florida State, Clemson and Virginia Tech are in the poll from the ACC.
Here’s the list:
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Southern California
4. Oklahoma
5. Oregon
6. Georgia
7. Florida State
8. Michigan
9. South Carolina
10. Arkansas
11. West Virginia
12. Wisconsin
13. Michigan State
14. Clemson

…LSU has a new QB who has never started, and who has hardly played much major college ball, and they are ranked #1? They must have some kind of D and some kind of running game…

10-3; wait and see….maybe we will one day recruit some offensive lineman….remember 2003 and 2004; we were loaded with skill players, good defense, but when it mattered most, we could not run the football.

I’m glad Tech is not in this one.
Let VT think they are better until the battle fo the Techs starts.
GT basketball was racked number 1 one time preseason.
Nowhere to go but down.
That showed what is wrong with rankings because that team lacked the depth needed to stay there.
