Dooley jokes about Bray incident
UPDATE: Head coach Derek Dooley has responded to the vandalism incident involving quarterback Tyler Bray, saying he was disappointed in his quarterback, and then joking about it.
Dooley’s reaction, reported in the Tennessean:
“He’s made some progress in a lot of areas, but that’s just silly behavior. Any time we get a little negative publicity for our program, we take it seriously.”
“Obviously, his accuracy isn’t where it needs to be. He missed the trash can.”

Bray, 20, has offered to pay for the damages he inflicted to one of the cars, so he will not be charged in that incident, police told the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
“The victim called us and said she no longer wishes to prosecute,” Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk told GoVolsxtra.com, part of the newspaper’s website. “[Bray] reached out to her and told her he would take care of the damages to her vehicle,” he said.
The victim, Bradi Hudson, said the windshield of her 2008 Ford was broken and that Bray and his roommate also damaged the car last Friday.
Hudson told police that after the Friday incident Kirstie Allen, another resident of the apartment complex, told her that Bray and roommate Michael Grandinetti were responsible for the damage.
On Monday, Allen, called police to report that her windshield had been smashed in apparent retaliation for implicating Bray and Grandinetti.
She told police that Bray and Grandinetti had thrown beer bottles off a balcony and onto vehicles in the parking lot, the Associated Press reported. The report quotes her as saying an office manager for the complex told her Bray and Grandinetti had been “served with an eviction notice just prior to her arriving home.”
As of Thursday morning, Tennessee Coach Derek Dooley had not commented, even though police said they notified him of the incident on Monday.
The Vols open the season Aug. 31 against North Carolina State in the Georgia Dome.

I don’t care what Tenn does to Bray nor if the girl presses charges or not. I insist that the police deal with him to insure public safety. Ever had your new car vandalized? Well people like Bray will mess you up and feel no remorse tii they are caught and face punishment.

That ain’t just another “college boys being college boys”. This is a crime that will aparently go unpunished…. again.
It is time we (college football fans) face the fact that the inmates are running the asylum! The repetitious reports of players running outside of the law and NO CHARGES were filed is making me wonder why. Why does this go on and on and yet the players never miss a down in a game. And why do we ignore the character of these players as long as they help our teams win on Saturdays!If the coaches/AD’s can’t make it “right” they follow the lead of the UF’s and ALA’s and hand-pick a game that “precious” will sit out ONE series!
Thank God we have Coach Mark Richt!

getting evicited, i guess the boosters are having economic problems? this could have caused serious injury or even death. tn laws must be different laws than ga. in ga even if the victim does not file charges the state will. if dd is sincere about his coaching career he would at least sit this idiot for 3 games. we will see dooley’s true color as to how he handles this situation..

There is your difference…what exactly does it take for a Vol starter to get kicked off the team? I dunno….what does it take for a Vol Starter to sit out an entire game? I dunno….your idea of punishment (if warrented) is for a player to sit out the National Anthem! But then it has to be something more serious than beating a cop into a coma….EweTee baby!

Brainiac (CMR/UGA Fan For Life), I couldn’t agree more. Let the Vowels have all of the Da’Ricks and Nu’Keeses they want (and Tyler Brays too). They have to recruit players from outside of TN in order to field a team. I’m so glad that I support a program thats roster is made up of in-state players. When I see the G on the helmet, I want to know that I’m watching players from G.

Vols players are mostly thugs and delinquents. One of the most horrific killers in Knoxville history, Lemaricus Davidson in the Christian /Newsome case was recruited by Fulmer. As a former Knoxvillian, it’s a weekly occurrence to see a player in trouble and rarely disciplined. Role models they are not, but they are treated like rock stars and still don’t have the intelligence to stay out of trouble and change their lives. Pathetic.
