Suit accuses Saban’s daughter of beating sorority sister

Kristen Saban is accused in a lawsuit of beating a sorority sister in 2010.
The suit, filed in Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court in July by Sarah Grimes, asks for unspecified compensatory and punitive damages of more than $10,000 against Kristen Saban.
According to the lawsuit, on the night of Aug. 29, 2010, Grimes, Saban and three other girls were playing “power hour,” a drinking game on YouTube.
Around midnight, the five went to a local bar, Rounders, where they encountered a man Saban had been dating, the suit says.
“Kristen became angry,” the suit alleges, “because [the man] was not paying enough attention to her.”
The five returned home, the suit alleges, where Saban became more despondent over her relationship with her boyfriend.
Finally, according to the suit, Grimes told Saban, “Kristen, please just shut up. We’re all sick and tired of hearing it.”
Events then turned uglier. According to the suit:
Saban went to her room and posted a Facebook status saying “No one likes Sarah! Yayyyyy!”
Grimes went to Saban’s room and confronted her about the Facebook status.
Quoting from the lawsuit:
“Kristen immediately used both of her hands and shoved Sarah into the corner of [an] open door, slamming Sarah’s head.
“Kristen proceeded to punch Sarah Grimes multiple times in her head and nose, and to pull Sarah’s hair …” A friend intervened, but “Kristen refused to stop hitting Sarah.”
After friends finally separated the two, the suit says, Saban responded that she hit Grimes because she grabbed her throat. Grimes said she did so only after the attack began.
Grimes was taken to a hospital, where according to the suit, the attending physician diagnosed her with multiple contusions to the face and a concussion, and said her injuries could have been life-threatening.
Grimes underwent nasal reconstruction surgery in December 2011 as a result of her injuries, the suit says.
Court filings show Kristen Saban has not filed a response.

The Dog fans are so jealous. Get over it. The man (Saban) raises millions of dollars for charity.
Six losses in four years, two national championships. Sounds like Miss Grimes needed a good smack. The schedule gods have set you up again this year, be thankful for that. But know there is a beatdown coming from the western division champ just like last year. If you guys live long enough
you may win another NC. Auburn waited 63 years in between championships. If you guys live till 2043 you have a shot!!

See what just being around Tuscaloosa does to. otherwise, intelligent, refined, church-going people. This same situation in Athens? They would have never made it home from the bar. Snared by a random road block, they would done what all Americans are getting use to. They would have shown their papers, explained where they were going and where they had been, and be subjected to a pat down and car search. By that time everyone would have cooled down.
