What should Chipper do?

It was widely reported earlier in the season that Braves’ veteran Chipper Jones was contemplating retirement.
The 38-year-old third baseman suffered what could be a season-ending knee injury in Tuesday’s win over the Astros on a spectacular grab behind the bag and leaping throw.
Jones told the AJC’s David O’Brien that Tuesday’s injury was not like the ACL tear he suffered as a rookie in 1994.
Jones is batting .265 with 84 hits, 10 homers and 46 RBIs in 317 at-bats. He is hitting .400 with four homers in nine games in August. He is signed through the 2012 season.
An MRI on Thursday confirmed the six-time All-Star suffered a torn ACL on the play.

I really don’t know what to say. I truly belive that he will retire and it hurts me that this is the way it happens. It has been amazing watching him play and play the right way. I can’t wait til the day he is back in the clubhouse has hitting coach and then manager.

No one will ever forget the outstanding season Chipper has had. His last play that tore his ACL was spectacular.
Go out a hero Chipper! You have had a wonderful career. You deserve the rest. After time, I do feel Chipper would make a fine coach. I have been observing him for years. He’s always watching every play. He’s learned from the best- Bobby Cox.

This is a tough way to retire. Too bad that he followed the “hang on” attitude past the end of a great career like Glavine and Schmoltz instead of going out in style like Maddox.

Chipper should be hired to replace Pendleton. He is a much more disciplined hitter than Pendleton ever was, and from the discipline he shows at the plate, he shows an understanding of the strike zone and is a great hitter. Perhaps, he could get the team going earlier in the game and keep the players focused while they are at the plate. Pendleton does a poor job early in the game, and I don’t expect that to improve.

Come back and get that money, hey it didn’t bother him doing that the last two years. I would put it to the Braves and make them eat the contract just like Lowe is doing. Maybe then they won’t so quick to give long term contracts to players in their twilight years.

Screw this over-rated girly man, Chippy Jones. Up his rectum I say. They should cancel his contract so he can go visit the local baseball park and get on a little league or PeeWee team where he belongs.
Always and injury or something other crybaby incident with this Chippy Jones pile of Horse Manure. He is a selfish little punk that needs to be taken behind the stadium and have his ass whipped. Chippy is a spoiled little 3rd grader masquerading in mans body.
