Did you see the Braves’ comeback?

The Braves scored seven runs in the ninth inning to stun the Reds Thursday at Turner Field.
We have three questions for you, Braves fans.

1 — Where were you? At work? At home? Listening on the radio?
2 — Did you give up when they were down 8-0 in the second inning and miss the whole comeback?
3 — If you watched it, is this the greatest comeback you’ve ever seen? What others would you compare it too?

If you did miss it, Sport South will replay the game at 11 p.m. tonight.

Also, here’s the view from photographer Curtis Compton: and a recap from the AJC’s Carroll Rogers.

1. At the game – invented an imaginary “appointment downtown” for the whole family …. Mom, Dad and kids …

2. Of course we stayed until the end … what kinda question is that? Eight year old (true believer, never doubted the Braves would win) kept saying “why are all these people going to miss the Braves win at the end?”

3. One of the best – if not the best – comeback ever … at least so far this season ….

1) Working from home
2) Turned off the TV after the 2nd inning, but turned on the radio and listened until the 9th, and then turned on the TV again.
3) The Braves have had so many comebacks already this year, but this is without question the best of the bunch – so far!!

This was completely and utterly awesome. My girl’s step father ( from Cincinnati ) called me when the Braves were down 8-0 and proceeded to talk trash. Honestly I don’t even watch baseball but the fact that they won in the 9th was all I needed to call my Buckeye friends up and do a war dance!!! HAHAHAHA Eat that MIKE !!!!!!! ahhh the tears of unfathomable sadness….mmmmm … yummy ….

Dammit!
I missed it because I was at work and GameDay said it was 9 to 5, bottom of the 9th with 3 outs. Audio was on commercial, so I figured it was over! A text message from a buddy later told me what I had missed! bummer….

pressure washing my driveway after seeing it was 8-0, mad that they’d just reach .500, the best comeback to me was pendleton with the double in right off drabek in ‘92 nlcs, and cabrera’s single with bream scoring

Yeah, I gave up. I admit it. I was sitting on I-75 just off Stadium Ave. watching a Car-BQ! (car on-fire under a bridge)… couldn’t believe what i was seeing or hearing.

I was driving in the Johns Creek area……………almost drove off the road when I heard the anouncer say the ball flicked off the webbing of the outfielders glove and hopped over the wall for a GRAND SALAMI !!!!!
This is the sort of thing that always happened AGAINST Atlanta teams not FOR them !!!

1 — Home

2 — I missed part of the middle of it. Judge Judy was more entertaining than the middle innings. I did catch all of the 9th, beginning with Kimbrel taking the mound.

3 — No. The game against Cincinnati in 1991 where Charlie Leibrandt gave up a 1st inning grand slam to Joe Oliver to put us down 6-0 and David Justice hit a 3-run bomb in the 9th was bigger. It meant so much more to us suffering Braves fans. “Braves lead! Braves lead! Braves lead!”

Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS was also a nifty little comeback and better than this one.

1. I watched and ironed up until the 8th inning, when I went to run an errand.
2. I kept it on the radio and was in the car when Conrad hit it out. I lost it and screamed like a maniac!
3. It’s probably the biggest comeback I’ve seen, but I was at a game once where Javy hit a grandslam walkoff in the 9th which was pretty epic.

1 – Home (I live in Europe)
2 – Truned the game on when it was 8-1 and followed it until the 7th inning, because I thought how cool it would be to come back from 8 runs down….. Then my girlfriend came home and we wanted to have dinner, so I shut my laptop down……
3 – Didn’t see the comeback:-(((((

Home sort of taking a nap with the game on in the background. Heard the play-by-play, opened an eye after the bases were loaded. But, when J-Hey struck out, figured it wasn’t going to happen and rolled back over. Then, when I heard the crack off of Brooks bat I sat straight up – and bam!!!

Best comeback win in many years…..

1. Was going to attend the game, but decided to instead go out to lunch when we couldn’t get tickets online. Listened to the 2nd inning on the radio (was glad I didn’t go to the game) and got home just in time to watch the bottom of the 9th inning.
2. I kind of followed along with the score from my phone, but didn’t think they would come back like they did.
3. It was up there. I was at the 3-HR comeback on April 20th, but that game didn’t really allow the tension to build like this one.

1) at home
2) like everyone else I turned the channel after the second
3) changed back in the 9th with the score 9-5. I kept hoping but had never seen a Braves comeback of this magnitude and I have been here since they came in 1966. Maybe the last two nights will kick start them on a winning streak!!

1 — I was at home “working”
2 — I get all the games from Direct-TV so I was flipping back and forth between the Braves and Phils, hoping the Phils would lose (they didn’t)
3 — The tension was so great, I walked out to my driveway… then from the tv sound that was leaking from the window, I could hear all the cheering, so I ran back inside. I couldn’t beLIEVE it! I started jumping up and down in my family room.

1. Saw Shultz article about being live.
2. Around 2 PM realized it must be a day game, check in on the internet when it was 5-0, then 30 seconds later. Saw the cryers on the blog, but knew that was a lot to play, that it could be a crazy day.
3. Check in later, it was 9-1, still knew anything is possible.
4. Saw the score 8-3, but know time was running out. But still thought it was possible.
5 Saw the 8th inning turn over as I left work, thought it was probably not our day.
6. Check blackberry, saw the headlines of the comeback, for some reason, was not too suprised.

I was in the car with my son listening to Jim Powell and Mark Lemke on the radio. They painted a perfect picture. I especially liked when Powell said something like this: “Heyward’s just five batters away. What’s he going to do this time? Hit a two-run homer? A grand slam? Maybe he hits a six-run homer?”

I’m proud to be an avid Braves fan and would have been there to the end. So tonight, I can tell the boys, “Yes, it’s okay to watch Baseball Tonight this evening.”

As for the greatest comeback, this ranks among them for sure. That Phillies-Braves game mentioned above ranks among them as well. I remember when I was 12 or so and saw the Cards-Braves go extra innings. I can’t remember the year. It was in the seventies.

In 92, we were only down one run when Bream slid home, but there was so much at stake in that game.

1 — I was watching on the TV at my desk at work and shouted out a dirty work in exclamation when Conrad’s homer cleared the fence!
2 — I didn’t think they could come back from that deficit, but I’ve learned not to give up on this Braves team.
3 — I’ve played in a bigger softball comeback, but I can’t think of a bigger Braves comeback.

I find it annoying that http://www.MLB.com currently features an article about Pettitte and the Yankees taking on Tampa Bay. It seems the Braves achieved something incredible that would be worthy of the top story. Or, at least feature the story about Hanley being scorned by Dawson and Perez.

1.I was actually at the game, it was awesome too bad a lot of people left early. If I was going to take a half day of work, I definately would spend it at the Ted.
2 I wasn’t happy, but baseball and beer are always good. It was nice to see a lot of the young pitchers. Jesse Chavez did real well and throws real hard for a little guy.—
3 Its definately up there, especially live. The walk the Ross had and McClouth’s double were all clutch. I can’t compare it to anything live.

Was following on MLB Gameday at work. Stopped paying attention when it was 9-1. Went to lunch, came back to check the score and it was 9-6 with the bases loaded and Conrad up. Fired up MLB.TV just in time to watch the walk-off granny. Unbelievable.

Anyone remember that game against the Padres a few years ago where the Pads made a bunch of errors and the Braves came back to win in the 9th on a Diaz hit? Seems like they were pretty far down in that game too.

1. I was home and watching.
2. In the 2nd inning I turned back to The Crew on AMC.
3. I flipped back when I got notifications on my phone that we scored. And that had to be the 3rd most amazing Braves moment I’ve ever seen.

1. The Slide’ 1992
2. World Series win. 1995
3. Conrad Brooks Pinch Hit Grand Slam 2010
4. Otis Nixon’s catch 1992 “HE CAUGHT THE BALL”
5. Andruw Jones’ two home runs in game 1 in Yankee Stadium World series ‘96.

I took a half day and picked my 7 year old up from school and took him to his first Braves game. Left later than I wanted and we got in our seats in the 2nd inning down 8-0(driving from Ringgold). We planned to stay and make the most of it being it was his first game. We moved closer to the field in the 7th and stayed put for the rest of the game. He and I cheered our hearts out!! It was the best comeback I have ever witnessed and being it was his first big league game…well. It was truly amazing and I’m so thankful I was able to share this moment with my son! GO BRAVES!!

Home, yes, I did give up after Heyward wiffed. Most improbable comback I have ever witnessed in 50+ years of baseball.
Conrad’s parents must have ESP to name their son “Brooks” and see him become a major league 3rd baseman, ala, Brooks Robinson, the best who ever played the position.
