Herschel to Canseco: 'This is no joke.'
Herschel Walker said he “would hurt” Jose Canseco if the two ever met in a MMA bout.
“Jose wants to do this for money,” Walker said Wednesday on a Dallas radio station. “My thing is, if he wants to fight me and he thinks it’s going to be a circus, I will hurt him. This is not a joke, I will hurt him, because I don’t do things as a joke. I don’t do this as entertainment. If we go out and play a flag football game, that’s entertainment. We’re having fun. But this MMA fighting is real. You can get hurt, and he doesn’t understand it. I do this as an MMA fighter, not as a joke.”
On Monday, Canseco challenged Walker on his Twitter page, tweeting “I guess I may have to show Herschel Walker who the real bad Boy of the Sports industry is. If the powers that be are reading, I want in.”
Strikeforce, the company that promotes Walker, has said a Canseco-Walker bout is highly unlikely. But if it was to come to fruition, would you pay to Herschel Walker take on Jose Canseco?

Herschel hasn’t done much for his “image” with this latest attempt at attention and limelight. I mean, there was his real claim to fame, football, but he just couldn’t give it up (the spotlight). Bobsledding, dancing, claims of mental illness (probably a couple more I can’t think of), and now beating people in the ring. Sheesh.

Herschel Walker knows how to make money!!! He will take this MMA thing and turn into big time cash like he has done with everything else he’s done. He owns his private jet, mansions, yearly donates a million dollars to UGA, etc. He is serious about this MMA fighting and just as serious about turning it into a cash cow. We’ll probably see Herschel picture all over fitness, boxing, MMA type equipment, etc. in stores real soon, not to mention new TV commericals,

Herschel has been a 5th degree black belt in Tae Kwon for years. He participated in Martial Arts Tournaments when he was in his prime. He has also been training MMA in California for a while now not to mention that he is still in incredible physical shape. He’s legit as far as MMA goes, a beginner yes, an amatuer yes but a legit MMA fighter starting to climb the ladder. Canseco is washed up, broke and way out of shape.

I love how the haters are saying Herschel is doing this for the money. You should probably spend 5 minutes of research before making false, silly claims. He donated his entire winnings to charity. He does not need any money much less the tiny amount of prize money he his winning. He is actually losing money everythime he fights because he still has to pay trainers/etc. Which would normally come from the winnings.

His first fight was against a chump but from everything I read, he was the real deal. I would like to see Herschel move up the ranks as he fights and from what it sounds like, it’s what he wants too. Not really a Walker fan but he works his way up and he’ll earn my respect.
Canseco won’t stand a chance. I’ll consider finding a bar that has it on. Otherwise, the recap of Jose getting destroyed should be sufficient.
