Matt Ryan has a LOT of growing to do. I know many of you love to smell his farts, but he is young and does NOT go through his progressions (which was evident when he threw to a covered Tony Gonzalez).

So the back-to-back winning season monkey is off of the Falcon’s backs. Thank God we don’t have to listen to Fox and ESPN talk about it anymore.

Now let’s go and get another RB to replace Norwood, a DE that can replace Abraham, a DT to complement Babineaux, better OLinemen, and a WR to replace Finneran.

I am pleased with the direction the falcons are traveling! Next year we have a real chance to make some noise provided we make some small additions! Please cut Chris Houston! We have our corners! Grimes and Owens plus Hill and a No 1 Draft pick(corner) should do it. we need two more Linemen and another Wide Reciever!

You Falcon fans are so funny. After 43 years, you finally have back to back winning seasons. You act like no other team in NFL history has ever done it. The Falcons are the first to do it. Why not get t-shirts and hats made up saying Back to Back winning seasons. Have a parade. Try winning back to back Super Bowls, two times. Have 6 Super Bowl wins. The Falcons are STILL LOSERS. Don’t start the hype the Falcons will win “NEXT” year’s Super Bowl. The Falcons will NEVER win a Super Bowl.

I am so glad to see our team end on such a high note!!! Looking to the future this team is a contender. The defense is looking good and teams will have to take us seriously. A strong free agency and draft and we will have a third back to back winning season and a shot at the play offs.

Great work Mr Blank, Coach Smith and then team, you have certainly done yourselves and your fans proud!!

I am proud of the Falcons for having overcome the injuries and tough schedule to land where they are. I am disappointed we could not have had a better season but with the picks we have and having the others get back healthy, I am optimistic that next year will be even better. The parity in the league this year is amazing. With so many teams eligible and fighting to the end to get playoffs berth almost everyone, at the beginning of the season must believe they have a chance to win. Hey, “Not a Falcons Fan”, if you don’t like it here, why don’t you leave. You are taking up space and air for someone who wants to be here.

I agree 100% on your winning season’s continuation prediction. This team is headed toward not just respectability but I see eventually an organization whose name becomes synonymous with dynasty.

I think some key components will come together next year, we get our IR rookies back, Matt Ryan with more experience, a healthy Turner. We should do well in the draft, probably a defensive back but I hope we take a look at the O line.

The schedule for next year s already easier, now if we can just get the NFL to quit screwing us on playing all the teams coming off their bye week.

I sincerely believe we will be in the 2011 Super Bowl, that’s next year baby!!!

No adult in their right mind would come on another opponent’s blog and try and rain on their fans’ parade unless they are just jealous of where the Falcons are headed. Your team may have had six SBs and back to back winning seasons, but you’re team is headed down. They have the same record as we do and are still in the playoff hunt? What does that say about the AFC teams? Go get ready for school in the morning.

Keep Norwood! Babineaux is a great PLAYER, but he may end up suspended so he cannot be counted on! We do need help on BOTH sides of the line! Matt Ryan has a 84.5 career quarterback rating. Here is a few other examples… Roger Staubach – 83.4, Sonny Jurgensen 82.6, Troy Aikman 81.6, Randall Cunningham 81.5, Warren Moon 80.9, Bart Starr 80.5, Fran Tarkenton 80.4, John Elway 79.9, Johnny Unitas 78.2, Joe Theismann 77.4, Michael Vick 75.8, Steve Bartkowski 75.4, Eli Manning 73.4, Sammy Baugh 72.2, Terry Bradshaw 71.0…
Matt Ryan will be just fine. No amount of racist banter can obfuscate the facts!

How bout them Falcons? 44 years of no coaching staff being able to put two winning seasons together until now. Wow! I’m sure glad the Smith’s aren’t running the show anymore and Mora and his clown crew (see what they’re doing to Seattle) are gone. Now let’s get the oline and defensive side of the ball solidified in the off season. Oh yeah, TR I’m with you on Norwood.

Halimaw…Norwood has got to go! He is the new Chris Chandler (always fragile and hurt), runs into the back of his own players, and has no vision of the field. I know what I see week in and week out with this guy. As far as that little “racial banter” comment I hope you were directing that to someone else. Matt Ryan has a LOT to work on once again. You can pull all the little stats out you want “Stat Boy” but stats are turning the ball over and making the wrong read. Hopefully, he’ll continue to get better. Maybe I’m just not as optimistic as some of you.

You can’t be serious. Back-to-back winning seasons? Surely, you jest. It is in fact true? Wow, this franchise surely has had a miserable 44 years. The Falcons, management and their pathetic fans can claim a “moral victory” all they want. This is nothing to celebrate if you are a Falcon fan. Thank the Lord, I’m not! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This team has and will forever be regulated to average status. The players, coaches, and management will see to that. If having back-to-back winning seasons seems like success to you losers, then I feel awfully sorry for you. Wait a minute..not sorry..just LMAO at just how low your standards are..Arthur “Looks Like A Beaner” Blank should cut his losses and sell his pathetic and miserable franchise…

I’mJustSimplyAmazed…looks like it doesn’t take much to amaze you. Have B2B winning seasons is a step in the right direction for this franchise. Sorry all of us don’t choose teams that have long storied histories of winning already–as I’m sure you did. We root for the home team or because we have hopes that our team will one day be one of the top teams year in and year out in the NFL. I don’t understand why so many of you take time out of your day to criticize a team that you apparently could care less about? That’s the definition of a LOSER!

TR for 44 years there was big hype for the Falcons at the start of the season. But in the end, losers. I agree with I’mJustSimplyAmazed. If success is winning back to back winning seasons, have fun. Steelers success is 6 Super Bowls.

Thanks Falcons organization. Putting away the curse of no back to back winning seasons may not mean much to your everyday fair weather fan, but as a Falcon fan enduring 44 years of just plain ole bad football and bad luck, it means a lot to the true fans considering this team didn’t quit and finished in a great manner, overcoming the adversity of injuries, a rough schedule, and the fact that they could have rolled over after being eliminated from the playoffs. Twenty wins in two seasons since the overhaul is nothing to sneer at at. Continuing to build on what the organization has accomplished in the last two years makes one hopeful of the coming years. Great win today Falcons and thanks again.

What amazes me as that the HATERS are harping on the Falcon’s record this year of 9 and 7, when there are several NFL teams heading to the playoffs with that exact same record simply because they are in a different conference.

So, those of us that are “REAL” Falcons fans are pleased that the team was able to have an overall winning season. We had hoped that they would have done better, but we can see that the team is headed in the right direction.

Like those who have made the comments before me….if you don’t like the Falcons then quit reading the AJC Falcons’ blogs and posting comments. Otherwise you’re simply a hater with NO LIFE…..Go Get One….and STFU!!!

Falcons are going in right direction inspite of what some of these posters have to say. How quickly some people have forgotten that idiot of a coach that bailed for Arkansas a mere two seasons ago. Defense needs some changes, some players did not earn their salary, Abraham for one, Peterson faded quickly, Houston seemed more clueless than anything. Babineaux and Weems will probably be somewhere else next year. Next season looks to be interesting.

Quarterback rating is THE measure of a quarterback accepted by those in the know. Norwood has a value. A team carries 5 running backs, normally. He is a situation back, not an every down back I admit. As far as calling me “Stat Boy” I have two things to say about that. 1) I heard a million stats given by Michael Vick fans with a serious MAN-CRUSH. 2) I GOT YOUR BOY!

I have been a Falcon fan since the very first game. Originally, when Atlanta didn’t have an NFL team we could only get the Redskins or Colts on TV. I remember going to an NFL exibition game at Ponce De Leon ball park. The Pittsburg Steelers were playing somebody…..I don’t remember who.
At any rate, at that time Pittsburg was the worst team in the NFL and had been for 25-30 years. They were perpetual losers (check the record) The only decent player they had was John Henry Johnson at running back and he was a Hoss. He gained 1,000 yards when that meant something on a perpetual loser.
My point in this is that within just a few years and a change in management…….. one very good draft…….. the Steelers were perpetual winners.
This back-to-back thing is a big deal for several reasons not the least of which is a continuing march toward respectabiity.
The Falcons were in the hands of poor ownership for decades and that is the real “curse” that had to be broken.
This team is headed in the exact right direction. It won’t be too long before you’ll be hearing in discussions within the NFL “why can’t we do it like they do it at THE BRANCH”.
Can’t come too soon for me. Everyone from Tommy Nobis on deserves this one. Congratulations……….. and many more.
To the guy blowing about their Six Super Bowl victories……. “people who live in glass houses…………….” I can remember when they were terrible.

We’re “losers” for calling out your team for 44 years of abysmal football? I think not. Rather, I just think we like to make fun of the sad state of your team Maybe, I’m just simply bored on a Sunday. What better way to spend a few minutes then to rag on the pathetic state of Atl sports? You want to define what it means to be a loser? It’s certainly not me for simply stating the sad facts. Maybe it’s the 44 year record of 284-407-6 that defines it. Btw, I’m curious..is there a parade tomorrow in the Atl to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment? I mean, it’s pretty rare for an NFL team to have back-to-back winning seasons.

Congrats to the Falcons.
- ATL needs an OL coach and a #2 receiver as Jenkins is too up and and down.
- On the D we need a DE and 2 starting corners as Grimes, Houston, Williams and Owens are OK but are all over matched with the NFL’s elite receivers.
A licker wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
