Great game. Let’s hope we get Gonzo back for next week. Next week will be a tough one, especially after they beat the Saints.

The Falcons missed the playoffs, they have a relatively easy schedule, so who cares about being able to say you have had back to back winning seasons? The NFC is pretty much a cakewalk. Oh, the Saints are a fraud and the Vikings probably are too. Let’s see how fast the Saints bandwagon fans jump off.

I’m willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, but this kid Matt Ryan makes a lot of errant throws, he’s late on most throws, stares down his receivers, and leaves the pocket way too early on most occasions. I hope his third year in the league is better than his second.

Don’t read too much into the Saints’ loss – especially since Thomas got injured.

I think everyone in the organization – from Thomas Dimitroff to Mike Smith to the players – knows the importance of next week’s game. They’ll be ready.

Who Cares — WE DO. As a Falcons fan from day one, I understand it is important for the team to get certain monkeys off their backs, and back-to-back winning seasons is one of those pesky creatures. A true fan will stay with their team through the good times and the bad. This organization is shaping up to be the first truly good and promising teams in the history of the franchise. To Mel in Midtown, who cares if Blank walks the sideline? He is showing total support for his team — something the Smiths never did.

Mr. Sorry, Considering Matt Ryan cannot plant on his back foot, and considering he missed 3 games, throwing for 2700 yards and 20 TD’s isn’t too bad of a year with a game to go. Evidently you didn’t have to bare through the M. Vick years where he NEVER threw for over 3000 yards and only once did he throw for 20 TD’s. Ryan will pass Vick’s 6 year stats in 3 years +. I can only hope the Falcons win next week and get this monkey of never having back to back winning years off our backs.

It was nice to see Ryan go long to Roddy White on the first play, it really set the tempo of the game. However, there were still mistakes like going from 2nd and goal and them backing up to just a field goal. Good tams will make up pay for those mistakes.
I hope they play next week like it is their Super bowl and make up for the Philly embarrassment! Still don’t know how they cashed their paychecks after that game, certainly didn’t earn them. Today they did and nice pick Grimes!!!!!

FalconOne, I was here for the Vick years and many, many before. I don’t know why you brought up Vick but he has nothing to do with my criticism of Ryan. IMO the kid took a step back compared to his true rookie season. Anyone without a unbiased eye can see he has issues to work on in the off season. I don’t think he should even be playing right now because of his injury. I guess we’re desperate to get that back-to-back winning season monkey off our backs.

Vince Burchfield, since you want to try and insult me you’re either just down right ignorant/biased–or you’re the biggest Matt Ryan nutz sniffer around. You’re one of those “Oh don’t criticize my precious Matt Ryan fans!”. Dumb azz.

Mr Sorry, he’s a great Q B and the perfect face for the team. He wants to prove he’s a winner by playing hurt, leading to wins and a new day. So, you’re an idiot and jump in a lake.

We’re finally winning, but it’s too late and we’re missing playoffs. But damn, why didn’t Ryan try to play weeks ago when it mattered the most. Playing hurt would have been trying to play those two games we needed to damn win to still contend for playoffs. To see Ryan smiling about that like it’s okay is not even cool. Ryan is definitely good, but not good enough. But I guess we’re going to find that out again next season. So I agree with Mr. Sorry on this one.

What’s up people? I rate the Falcon’s play today as average at best. We did not dominate this team as much as I expected. We had some good plays and some so, so ones. Mr. Sorry, you’re right on point with your observations of Matt Ryan. If I had to say one word that describes Matt’s play this season it would be “inconsistent”. I do worry about us playing the Bucs to close the season–and try and break the back to back winning season jinx.

Who Cares: The Falcons had one of the hardest schedules in the NFL this year. Thinking otherwise is pure nonsense. Not only did the Falcons have to play two of the best divisions in the NFL (AFC East and NFC East); they also played a 4 times coming off a bye. Not saying the Falcons are prefect: the defense is still very much a work in progress, special teams have been erratic and the coaching staff has made some weird decisions, but I fully believe that if Michael Turner and Matt Ryan hadn’t been as hurt as they were or a good coin flip against the NY Giants the Falcons could be 9-6 NOW.

Mr. Sorry- what you listed is NORMAL for a young quarterback. And Matt Ryan is a lot better than other 2nd Year QBs in NFL history. Let’s give the kid a chance okay?

I beg to differ with you that they had one of the hardest schedules in the NFL this year. Playing Tampa Bay twice? Washington? San Francisco? Chicago? The Giants (who were overrated and really got it handed to them yesterday). Hardly competitive teams. Even if we went with that logic, the Falcons still couldn’t beat the tough teams. I will say that the Patriots are a good team and that game was competitive in that the Falcons did play them well. Matt Ryan is a good quarterback though and the injuries probably made the difference down the stretch.
