dam I hate I have tickets to the New Orleans game. After the Falcons lost to the Giants, I knew the season was shot. Failure to address the defensive back problems prior to the start of the season shows that this organization is a long ways from developing a championship team. I think with a little more time Ryan will be a decent quaterback. We also need to draft a power running back with speed. Turner will never have the season he had last year. The off season and how well we do in the draft will tell how committed this organization is to winning. I’m pulling for Vick to make a great comeback.

I just LOVE all the misery that you miserable Vick hating, suck @ss self-righteous weasels are experiencing right now.

May it stick with you forever. No amount of hate is going to stop this man from getting his life back. Second chances should be given, “let’s move on”, that is unless he happens to wear cornrows and listens to rap music!

HA! I LOVE it. Do your thing Mike. Great game, keep humble, stay focused and make your way again brother.

InYourEyeGuy,
Cute screenname, or is it your job description…

If you love the dog-killing gangster so much, why don’t you two just go ahead and go up to Vermont already and get it over with!! It would confirm the rumours about MV7 anyway…

Get lost, hood rat!

Turf toe – you got to be kidding me. Missing 2 games with turf toe. Somehow running backs can play with it but a non-running QB can’t. It’s not like the season was riding on it – oh, wait, yes it was. No heart – no fire. Why was the three named QB in there at some point – Redmond is pathetic. Oh, and this teams chances of a winning season? Equally pathetic – collective turf toe!

for the person who commented on african americans cheering for vick, i must say, some of you just have a hard time dealing with persons of color who choose to think/feel differently from what the majority in the country deem to be “the right thing”. but it is okay to worship a george washington or a jefferson who owned and raped slaves and never did any time for it. i would suggest you put yourself in the shoes of those african americans who choose to cheer for vick (and note i said those african americans who choose to cheer for vick not all african americans) and you might be able to understand things from their perspective….not an easy job, but it might provide you some insight. it is called diversity of thought, and in this case their cheering did not hurt anyone. the falcons did not play well and the vick cheering fans cannot be blamed for that.

My gripe is’nt about Mike Vick, it’s about the low class trash that cheered for him. That was pathetic.

steve,
nane calling of people whom you know nothing about except that they cheered for someone that you happen to have problems with -someone who has paid his debt to society- shows very little class on your part.

I am not a Vick hater! I hope to God they guy does get his life back on track. I took issue with the fans chanting, “We Want Vick!”, so loud that the t.v announcer(s) kept talking about it. My whole point was that regardless of how bad the team played, like crap, trust me, I know, that you should never want a former player to win with their new team at the expense of the Falcons, if they came form here.

All you “holier than thous” out there, I am a God fearing man. Yes, I screw up everyday, and trust me, I know the power of God and forgiveness. I supported the Commissioner allowing Vick back in to the League. He did his time, and he should get a second chance.

My issue was NEVER with Vick. It was with the fickle Falcons fans, that wore Vick’s jersey today, and next week, they will go back to wearing another one and cheering for the Falcons again. Like I said before, if you like Vick, fine, I cheered for him when he was a Falcon too, but the past is the past, move on. We have a new QB now, that in my opinion, is a hell of a lot better than Vick will ever be.

But here is a stat that will blow your mind:
2001-Falcons go 7-9, then draft Vick with the over 1st pick.
2002-Falcons go 9-6-1
2007-Falcons go 4-12, 50% Vick’s fault…50% Petrino, we draft Matt Ryan with 3rd pick.
2008-Falcons go 11-5
So in essence, Vick only made the Falcons 2 games better as a starter from previous year.
Ryan makes the Falcons 7 games better as a rookie starter, cleaning up Vick’s mess.
Oh, by the way, after 2004, need I remind anyone, that the Falcons tanked for two seasons straight WITH Vick, and before he got busted (2005, 8-8; 2006, 7-9).
Vick looks a lot different from this perspective now doesn’t he?

Once again, this blog is about race and not football. What a sad state of affairs in the city of Atlanta. You people get what you deserve. Look around you. With few exceptions, most people reap what they have sowed. Just plain sad.

Why, pay 20-30 dollars just for parking to witness a 28th ranked defense and players who need a GUT check. Falcon players with the exception of a few, gave no do or die effort in this game(process!). This is not acceptable. A new defensive plan and/or coordinator has been warranted.

It’s pretty sad to see where the Falcons have gone this year considering they had a great season last year. As a Falcons fan it pains me to see this collaspe. injuries for sure have hurt the Falcons this year. Next year, Atlanta needs focus on the NFL Draft and get better defensive players then what we already have. Plus it would not hurt to sign some free agents next year too who can actually play some defense.

As a GT fan, I wouldn’t mind seeing DJ Shockley play. Redman was awful. The offense looked poor.

Did someone say this blog is more about race than football? Well, okay let’s talk football again, Falcons get blowed out in their own dome, they just did avoid history by avoiding shut out, another former player beat his former team and looked good doing it coming off the bench, Ryan probably could have played in a must needed win, no backup, injuries, no good coaching staff, which are issues now coming to light. So there you have it, football talk with game summary included. How much are those orange bowl tickets again?

An Observation

The entire team stunk up the field but Redman was A-W-F-U-L yesterday. Hopefully now the coaching staff will realize that he is not a quality #2 NFL QB in the league. I wish they had put in Wilson because he could not have been any worst than Redman on yesterday.

Tech buzz,
let us not forget that one man does not make a team. most people would agree with me when i say that vick had very little back up where defense was concern. say what you want, but matt ryan does not make a team alone either. anyone who knows football knows that. i will say again, fans cheering for vick had nothing at all to do with the slaughter that the falcons experienced on sunday.

That was pathetic ) LOOK man I was a vick fan before he came to atlanta and he made me a falcon fan as well, so Steve I felt It was class to stand u and cheer for him for the work and determination after all he has been through so lets not spreak on my behalf for cheering for him.

After watching Redman guide his passes against the Bucs, I suggested that Redman must have some ROCKET FUEL stashed somewhere for Eagles game because there were NO ZIP ON HIS THROWS during the Tampa Bay Bucs game!!!

And the Eagles suckered the Falcons into a passing game, to pick Redman apart!!

Furthermore, Ryan haven’t been MUSTERING ZIP on his passes either. Falcons quarterback coaches better find a way to strengthen Ryan’s throwing ARM during the OFF SEASON!!!

Next season, he will need it!!

Maybe they should call Vick and ask him how does he throw the ball so far with such ease.

Just a suggestion!!1
