So much has beeen said, and Mark Bradley was dead on in his Saturday AJC column about the Dawgs program (a must read, get it if you can), but I trace a lot back to the LSU game and the refs. Not the AJ Green call. The Orson Charles call earlier. Spectacular catch at the 5 yard line line. Then , three simple hand waves to the crowd to cheer. Nothing flagrant, by any means. No taunting, no pointing at himself, three little flips of the hand (watch the game replay if you have it) But… 15 yard excessive celebration penalty. Instead of first and goal at the 5, we go back to the 20 and eventually miss a field goal. A touchdown or chip shot field goal, and the season changes. We go from # 15 to a top 10 team. We march intoTennessee with confidence. The whole attitude of the team chages. Anyone who has played knows a lot of the game is between the ears. Instead, we drop out of the top 25. We have a referee controversy all week. We go into Tennessee totally flat and dejected. That entire crew AND the head of SEC officiating should not even be allowed to referee or oversee Rec league football. I would have a commission to at least check for some illegal betting with this crew similar to the basketball scandal. But, again as I said Mark Bradley was dead on with his column. One most excellent game last night doesn’t change anything nor does the referee scandal. Martinez still needs to go and if Sabin or Meyer jump ship to Notre Dame, I sure hope we pursue hard their Defensive coordinators. And I wouldn’t stop there. I’m sorry but Mike BOO-BOO has got to go too. We all saw what Ealy and KIng can do with straight up pounding. Now imagine having an offensive coordinator who actually knows some imaginative formations and plays to run. This is why we are still a second tier SEC team. Please Mark Richt. Stop making truck comercials, concentrate on football and get the two best coordinators you can find in the country (not from within). Do not keep Joe Cox on the staff after graduation. Loyalty is great but we want the best players on the firld. Play the BEST quarterback next year. Two final notes. SEC vs. ACC Total superiority. The advertising guys for the ACC championship must be sick to their stomach thinking how to spin this game. 5 ACC teams in the top 25 all lose yesterday. And last but not least. RUSS-You’ve already earned the honor as a “Damn fine dawg”!!!! Way to go Dawgs !!!!!

Looking through all of the comments, I saw the one for our schedule next year. That’s one more person that should be fired. Our schedule maker. Really. An open date befoe the last game of the year. What an idiot. The open date should always be the week before the Florida game. ALWAYS!!! This is about the time the players are wearing down and some are injured, and all need a rest. And history has shown that our record against Florida is better when we have that off week to prepare. And my last comment of the day. Tim Tebow is a great football player, no doubt about it. You also have to admire HIS character. BUT, I have really lost a lot of respect for him due to the truly dirty playing of Spikes. You saw where Meyer showed his true colors and basically defended the eye gouging. Tebow should have been a man and stepped up, and teammate or not, he should have said that he does not condone such dirty play. He had a chance to show the world his character, his values, and that when something is so terribly dirty, HE is not going to condone it. HE is going to speak up and call it for what it is. Actually, Meyer is so in love with Tebow, he would have said whatever Tebow told him to. And Tim, I lost a lot of respect for you that day, when you sat idly by and did not say a word. All that evil needs to prosper is for good men to say nothing.

You classless dogs reaffirm why I loathe everything about you and your institution. You can’t win or lose with class. You may think you own us, but Paul Johnson is .500 against you and I like our chances against you in the future with him, even if we have inferior talent. Go ahead and boast your dominance, we know you know how it feels. Does the Florida Gators ring a bell?

Let’s not be like Tech and gloat all year. I don’t think they deserve that kind of respect.

Hey Big G. “Classless dogs” ? At least we aren’t the classless Tech program that put last year’s final score on our rings. You guys are pathetic. And now you mention Florida? When all else fails change the subject I guess.

First of all, SHUT UP GA TECH. I love the ACC Championship now-are they playing for 7th best team in the SEC? Tech wouldn’t be .500 in the SEC.
Hopefully, the coaching improvements start tomorrow; this doesn’t change the fact that we still need two coordinators. Our DBs were way too soft, and the playcalling was still brutal in a few situations.
Why put Branden Smith at TB when things were going so well? Why throw a screen behind the line on that crucial 3rd and 3 in the 4th quarter? When you are running as well as we were you don’t need to get so darn cute. Bobo may have a place on the staff but we MUST have a mature OC as well as an entire new defensive scheme.
With the right coaches, and a decent QB, this team can be awesome next season.
And did I mention that the North Avenue Nerds can just SHUT UP!! I thought the messiah, Paul Johnson, panicked in the last two minutes. He had plenty of time to go down the field 10 or 15 yards at a time, and he threw 3 straight bombs! Stupid, stupid, stupid.
“Shift of power” my butt. Shut up nerds and GO DAWGS! 8 out of 9!

Once again, the stars are aligned in the universe. Can’t believe all the “if Nesbitt hadn’t gotten hurt” comments on the other blog. Oh wait, I can believe it. Any excuse will do! Love PJ, but can’t quit smiling over the game!!

Congrats to the Georgia coaching staff for a great performance under pressure. I was glad to see Richt with his war face on, he was not ready for an early gatorade shower and I think it showed he meant business. The same goes for pulling players when they committed penalites and fumbles. This has been a Georgia team that has suffered heavily on turnovers and penalties. I think the criticism of Martinez’s defense has much of its roots in a plethora of turnovers by the offense on the short side of the field.
I hope the blind rage of a disappointed fan base doesn’t cause blame to fall in the wrong places after the season is over.
Take away our awful turnover margin and poor field position for the season and this season would have been remarkably different.
GO DAWGS!

Great win. Kudos to coaches. However, I stiil think Willie needs to go. This team would’ve been 10 and 2 with a better defense. Plus I believe with a better DC, our last 4 seasons would’ve been more succesful.
