UGA is a low class school, they play dirty on the pile and try to take players out. Ga Tech chocked tonight, we show we dont belong in the BCS bowls. UGA proved they deserve going to Shrevport. Yes GT may suck, howerver UGA really sucks. Dont know if Johnson is what we really need here. When you have a team with learning disablities, such as UGA and the figure your offense out..not good. Clemson awaits us next, we will be 10 and 3 after that…then whatever crappy bowl we go to we will be 10 and 4. See, give the man the money and he under prepares his time…ex..LSU last year. Yeah this is funny, after the venom gtu fans have spewed in the past year they are reduced to name calling. You know in your heart of hearts that your season was against Always Crappy Conference teams and that is why you have not received the national respect you think you deserve. Hey Yellow Jacket,
How many BCS Bowls has your team gone to? ZERO!! UGA has gone to 3 and are 2-1. I wouldn’t start talking bull@#$@ until you actually beat Clemson and make it to a BCS Bowl Game for once. Where have you gone the last decade? Boise, Seattle and San Francisco. UGA has played their bowl games on New Years, while the North Avenue Trade School has played theirs on Thanksgiving. Guess what? You just lost your bowl game tonight. What happened last year when you guys finally played on New Years Eve? You got waxed by LSU, an SEC team that UGA beat!! Let’s see if Paul Johnson wins at least 80 games in his first 8 years at Tech like Richt did at UGA. I would love to see that offense play against Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Tennesse, LSU, South Carolina, etc. How many BCS National Championships has the ACC won this decade? None. FL State won in 1999 and Miami won in 2001 as a Big East team. How many BCS National Championships for the SEC since 2003? FOUR going on five soon. I thought UGA’s defense was bad. GA Tech’s really sux. C.J. Spiller is going to make Morgan Burnett his bitch next Saturday. Caleb King is still running as we speak!!!!!

Hey Tech fans,
Don’t look forward to B.J. Bostic helping you out on defense next year. Da’Rick Rogers, who plays for Calhoun High and is committed to UGA, made Bostic his bitch last night. Da’Rick is a 5 Star receiver and Bostic couldn’t cover him. Also, Alec Ogletree of Newnan is committed to UGA and will step in at safety as a true Freshman and help turn around our defense. He will bust Thomas and Nesbitt in the mouth next year. Good luck for the next 4-5 years, you will need it. We beat you tonight with a YOUNG Bulldawgs team. Dwyer and Thomas leave this year for the NFL anyway. Won’t stay for their senior year. There goes your offense.

Congrats UGA on beating tech with a second string scrub QB in the game for a half remember it was a 6 point game in the end if Nesbit plays the whole game that is easily worth 6 points. If CPJ continues to be CPJ we still win that game in CPJ style in the end with not much time left if any with 2 timeouts left and the ball at the 45 and around 2 minutes left on the clock. The decision for 3 bombs i will have to question you on coach but we still love ya in Atlanta. UGA fans if Alabama had not blocked that kick and lost that game to Tenn. would they be horrible how about those close calls with Florida earlier in the season remember UGA it was a 6 point game in the end.

As a full-blooded GT faithful and ‘07 grad, I still support CPJ 100%. His play calling at the end was gutsy and it failed this time. However, he has the background to justify it. The distance b/t genius and insanity is measured only by success. If any of those bombs get hauled in for 6 and the ensuing XPA is good, he would be hailed once again as a genius of CFB.

What are everyone’s thoughts on Wommack and his defensive reactions(or lack thereof) to UGA’s rush?

mwb

JDM i would have to agree with you in that we still love CPJ and think he is a genius but why would you want to score that quickly and leave time on the clock with a kicker like Walsh for Georgia on the sideline. @mwb: I absolutely agree with you. Personally, I wouldn’t be launching rockets like that with 1:30 to go and at least a timeout to spare. I say pitch to Allen and let him own the sidelines. As I’ve posted elsewhere, if you do that you can time it right when you step out and get free 15 yard additions with the awful officiating these days.

Then again, I don’t have the stellar coaching background like CPJ does. I have faith in what some call his madness. 10-2 and championship bound. With a better DC we can go even further. Ramble on!

Lex Luther

SEC won the day…no doubt about that. Tech’s issues on defense caught up with them. It was bound to happen. Richt was smart enough to wear out our defense before we wore out his, which is what has been happening in prior games. But, he did allow Tech their chance in the end; but, fortune wasn’t with them on this night.

As for the final set of downs…Nesbitt to Thomas with man-on-man was money in the bank! When the opponent tightens up to control the option, Johnson goes long with man-to-man coverage and it has worked all season (Tech leads the nation in long balls, after all.) Fly in the ointment: Nesbitt was hurt just enough that he was not perfect on either of two passes that could have won the game. The pass to Thomas in the end zone was just plain bad (he gave Nesbitt a WTF look afterwards)…BUT Thomas was open and would have sucked it in otherwise. Also, Allen had Reshod Jones beat on the post pattern on third down. The ball drifted in on Allen and he had to adjust just enough to allow Jones to ‘break it up.’ Otherwise, it would have been a completion and Jones would likely have once again been the donkey. Again, I have seen Nesbitt nail that pass too many times…something was (slightly) amiss and one has to guess it was his leg/ankle.

The season is not over, folks. Tech will likely beat Clemson in the ACC championship and then may have another shot at an SEC team. It will be interesting to see what happens. A couple of breaks in their favor…and maybe Tech can make a game of it…unless it is Florida, in which case they will probably get trounced. Sad…but true.

And, by the way…folks…football IS JUST a game. It is meant to be enjoyed…win or lose. It is certainly not worth sacrificing our civility over.

If any of you are a Tech Men, you are expected to deport yourself with a level of composure and civility worthy of that institution. If you did not go to Tech, then I have no right to an opinion and certainly would not attempt to hold you to such a high standard.

How can any of us GT fans feel good about this year? Come on coaches, the one game you should be prepared for and expect to win is against the obnoxious Georgia team and fans. You blew it. You let Mike Bobo and Willie martinez out coach you. You displayed no urgency in time clock management, you threw the ball down the field errant at best. Football is a game of preparation and adjustment and the Tech coaches failed. Now we have to listen for another whole year from the obnoxious, but winning, bulldog nation. And for this we gave Johnson an extension? Don’t give me the crap about playing in the ACC Title game, who gives a rat’s fanny? Just beat Georgia!

You want to keep civility – don’t act like you should have won when you should not have won. That is just not honest to make excuses for losing on the final drive. You act as if you “lost” the game and GA didn’t “win” the game. Well, GA won – look at the stats including the points and it is clear that GA won the game, has the better team and will dang well brag about it for 364 days! Other than Derrick Morgan and Morgan Burnett this defense sucks. As bad as I hate to admit it, hats off to the mangy mutts. They wanted worse than the jackets. Bitter pill to swallow. Regardless of CJP trying to down play the lose to Ugag. Losing to them ruined a magical season in the majority of the fans eyes. We don’t scream to hell with Georgia for nothing.

Georgia played a great game last night – they played tough and aggressive football and deserved to win the game. But Tech has still had a great year, and the game against Clemson should be a good one. Our weakness all year has been the defense, we need a lot of work there!

I’ve said it many times on these blogs & vents and it came true: TECH CHOKED!! And don’t say that the Dawgs barely won. I happen to remember quite a few games the nerds barely won this year!! Oh yes, one more thing, funny how the SEC beat both of the teams in the ACC championship!!! SEC Rules!!!

JDM…agree questionable passing at end, but CPJ is a gambler. Can’t win them all. Your D line got blasted which forced Womack to line up 8 and 9 in the box which meant one hole and a long gain was there due to no safety depth. GT needs more size in the middle. Also, UGA DTs were shooting through the center of the Tech line all night…need to get that fixed before Clemson and bowl game. As usual, poor kickoff coverage and missed tackles by UGA helped keep the game close. All in all a great game to watch…and it came down to the wire. Hated to see the kid drop the ball on 4th down…hope he can shake it mentally.

Georgia vs South Carolina for the ACC championship. When a middle of the road 7-5 team beats your conference champ it doesnt say much for the ACC.

Tech’s defense is disgusting. Spiller will destroy them next week, and concrete his chance at the Heisman.

Find some excuses Techies…Your team just didn’t show up, and got beat at home, at their own game. Running the ball.. Georgia got back to their roots, and took the ball away from the suspect players(Cox)..

I went to Emory so I cannot claim true allegiance to either UGA or Tech. The events of last night, however, beg answers to two questions.

1. How weak is the ACC? Clemson and Tech’s showings against non-conference opponents is embarrassing. The ACC championship game ends up having the same interest as say a Wyoming vs. Montana match up. It appears the ACC is sort of a WAC of the east…or worse.

2. If, as Paul Johnson states, the Georgia game is no big deal to Tech, why did they get those silly rings made last year after they beat Georgia?

Ed

I must admot now, the SEC is far superior to the ACC. Clemson loses to SC and GT loses to UGA. The best of the ACC gets crushed by the middle of the pack SEC. The last offensive series for GT showed that CPJ is not the greatest coach of all time. What a shameful choice of plays.

UGA returns all 5 OLmen and King and Ealey both return next season. Imagine how good we will be with Murray at QB next season. Get ready for another long run of beatdowns Jacket fans. Oh and as for PJ…I actually like his offense and I’m not one who thinks it want work at this level. I don’t think Tech deserves to have him as coach. He deserves a much better school. Why…well Tech just doesn’t deserve to be “good” period. And you sure don’t deserve to be on the same level as UGA, let alone, “better” than us. This win just proved that last season was a dream from which Tech fans have now woke up from and realized that they are actually living a nightmare. Order is restored and all is right in the universe.

KENNESSAW JACKET…Let’s get a couple things straight. My Dad was a Tech grad and so was my brother. Dad may have been one of the biggest Techies in history and loved his Jackets. He is gone now and Thanksgiving weekend hasn’t been the same the lat 20+ years. As far as being my boss, that’s bulls**t. I’m a UGA grad and in my employ are two former Tech full scholorship football players who do menial labor…and I mean labor. My brother, the Prodigal Son and cum laude Tech grad was nothing but a worthless drug addict, and embarrassment to the family and a total waste of humanity. He died last month after years of me keeping him on the payroll and being his defacto father/caretaker. It was the happiest day of my life when he died. Sorry, but true. I actually always hope Tech goes 11-1 each year, in loving memory of my father, so long as that loss is to UGA. It is people like you who give Tech a bad name. I would love to biotch-slap you for my father.

Lets face it, Tech got beat badly last night. Our offensive and defensive fronts Dominated your puny pathetic excuse for lines. Our Coach Mark Richt once again proved that he owns GT and that crappy car. Did you see the fear in CPJ’s eyes? He realized that his bugs will never be able to win another game against the superior athletic and academic institution from Athens. Maybe he can give some more rings to try and get his team up to play Clemson next week for 5th and 6th place in the SEC east. Tech will wind up on the smurf turf again. I would like to know what the issue is with the pathetic D. Are the players not athletic enough? Are the coaches the issue?

We need bigger lineman. UGA man-handled the tech O and D lines. UGA created big holes in the line when they were on offense and allowed nothing up the middle when they were on defense.

How on earth the folks from the ACC think that their conference is anything more than a basketball conference still confuses me. 0-3 yesterday against the SEC and the two teams playing in the ACC championship game got a beatdown from two middle of the road SEC teams. The conference is an embarrasment to Division 1 football and they should only count a win against an ACC oponent as 1/2 a win.

An ACC championship and 50 cents will get you a cup of coffee and that is about it.

As poorly and pathetically as we played, it says something that we were right there, in UGA territory with a 1st down and only 46 yards to go to win. Apparently, UGA isn;t all that good afterall. I just was surprised at 4 passes in a row. There was plenty of time. After our 4th incompletion, there was 62 seconds left. Spread that pout over 4 playes and you have an extra 15 seconds a play. Plenty of time to run some option plays.

I am from Boston originally and what I witnessed was a UGA team that just physically and brutally whipped Tech at the line of scrimmage. No excuses, no buts, no ifs, they just did it! Tech fans need to realize that their 10 wins were earned playing a schedule no better than the WAC, MAC or Conference USA. Get over yourselves, the entire nation thought Tech was overrated and your in-state rivals from a much better conference just proved it. They ran up your gut all night and you never stopped them.
