Grimes is a gamer but, has no business playing his position in the NFL. Actually most of the Falcon’s db’s fit that discription. At this point in the season how can a db constantly make the mistake of not turning his head to see where the ball is? The good news, we have the front office and head coach to make the necessary moves to right the ship. The bad news, there are six games left with this current group.

and i spent the day watching the birds again?! is it still ‘68? i’ve never seen folks (paid so much) “play” as tho they’re in the ten year old terriors!!! the birds’ “0″ will improve, but the other 9 members of the “d” should demand a change at the corners.. maybe someone with a head that will actually turn!!!!!

I have no problems with how Grimes played yesterday; he’s being coached up. Grimes had a nice interception on a ball that gave the Falcons the ball in fantastic field position. The Falcons offense did nothing with it. Also, no one bring up Matt Ryan’s fumble on our 30 yard line at the end of the first half. That basically gave the Giants 7 points and was arguably as much of a difference in the game as the secondary play, drop by MJ, and lack of a pass rush, and missed field goals.

I think the secondary play is more an issue of coaching than talent. They guys were in position. A few times Eli made a perfect throw to beat the coverage, but more often than not we weren’t playing the ball. That’s coaching more than the fault of the players. Also, the coverages seemed off a few times. The Fox crew did a good job of noticing that sometimes some players seemed to be playing zone while others were in man. No one is spying Eli Manning. That’s coaching folks!

The sad thing about the loss is that Jason Snelling played a fantastic game…

Obviously, the Falcons have some personnel problems. Need a couple of 6 foot or bigger defensive backs; some defensive lineman and another offensive lineman. Until recently, the team managed to hide its defensive deficiences, but you don’t hide a weakness for long in the NFL.

I would be very happy if team finishes at 9-7 or 8-8 this season. Despite this record, the team has made major improvements this year. To many holes to fill in last 24 months. Can now concentrate
on the process of eliminating weaknesses in their game over the next two years. Look for something really good in 2011 or 2012! Be patient!\\

Not sure if being patient works… I’ve been patient for way too long with this team. I don’t know who the he** in their ivory tower in NYC made up this schedule for the Falcons, but someone in our front office needs to make sure that this never happens again. Nonetheless, I think we have a good chance of still making the playoffs. It will be crucial for us to play our best football down this strech, we have some very winnable games and if we can get hot for the next 6 games, we’ll be able to make some real noise in the playoffs.

But for now, take it one game at a time, fire Elam, get our RB’s healthy, and beat Tampa!
Go Falcons!!

Defense has issues and one of problems could be that defensive coordinator VanGorder. He’s a big joke with no laughter, he came from GA Southern other season and was hired by them to turn program around. When he failed the test down there, he punked out and left for not winning. So why in hell did Falcons hire this guy. No matter where you go, you still same person unless you work harder. So yeah, if Tampa beats them, and if Blank wants to keep the little bit of fans he needs to evaluate and get rid of everyone who’s dead weight like VanGorder.

forget this season. It is over. They are not going to win out. They are not going to the playoffs. Everyone seems hung up on the back to back winning seasons curse. Who cares. It does not mean crap if your not in the hunt. Fire Elam and BVG, Put Michael Jenkins at cornerback the rest of the season. Grimes to the bench and then gone after the season is over. Houston gone. Give Abraham a rest. He is obviously hurt and not producing. Give some rookies a shot. they can’t do any worse. A season that could have been. If Elam is kicking this week, I stop watching.
