Seeing Josh throw like he did tonight- the jackets are going to be hard to beat,,,I think also CPJ should look at the short passes as well-overall nice adjustment 2nd half on the D. Great win for the Jackets today- This offense just keeps getting better week after week—Go Jackets- Beat WF…THWG!!!

I missed the first half, but enjoyed the second. Great win. Nice adjustment Wommack. You’re still on slippery Ice, but thanks for the win.

Defense and special teams need to be improve, be more consistent, and much better in the first half.

now that it is all over but the crying do you think Mr. College Football and the rest of the AJC sportswriters can take a look at GT’s Johnathon Dwyer as a Heisman candidate? 180 yds rushing tonight against Vandy, but nooooooooo all Barnhart can talk about is Spiller of Clemson..how bout getting your head out of Georgia’s behind and give Dwyer some favor..The ESPN announcers of the game said they felt GT was the best one loss team in the country, funny that national media starting to see it but not Mr. College Football blind as a goat in a hailstorm

If we had a kicker who could actually kick deep, then maybe we could cover the kicks better…..Anybody on campus want a part time job? Maybe some Brazilian exchange student who might like a scholarship?

The only good thing about seeing the kick coverage unit on the field, is that it means you are scoring lots of touchdowns. Paul Johnson doesn’t settle for field goals. Yes we gave up a touchdown on a kickoff return to a very good returner who took one back 99 yards against South Carolina, and another one against Army, but we put up 56 points on an SEC defense giving up 17 points per game. I’ll take the win.

Go to http://isportsweb.com for a review of the game Sunday afternoon. Let’s get ready for Wake. Go Jackets!

And what about our punter? 3 kicks that averaged just over 30 yards a kick? Florida’s punter has yet to have a punt return for ANY yards! We had a great punter a few years ago. But, I guess if we continue to score so many points – it won’t matter. Beat Wake Forest! PS: why didn’t Urban (UF) call timeouts at the end of the game again?! I wish he had. UGA wore black helmuts for the 1st time. That went as well as their black-out last year when they got drilled! All gimmick – no substance!

Be fair. FOr the most part out punter doesn’t get all that much practice in game conditions. . .

And I kinda like that. . .

You gave up 31 points to Vandy and you’re talking like you deserve a shot at the national championship? Even with a win I would imagine Tech folks would have their heads hung low in shame this morning.

Rainman – Based on what I saw during the game, it looked like Anthony Allen missed quite a few key blocks last night…I’m assuming that reduced his playing time and carries, but I’m not a coach. Go Jackets!

It’s great that Dwyer got to have such a great game since so many teams are keying on stopping him this year.
Josh should get Heisman consideration but it’s all hype and stats so that’s pretty doubtful.
Paul’s offense and play-calling saves his D coordinator and special teams coach from facing more heat.
At least they show improvement in the 2nd half of each game.

No Vince it’s the Puppy fans who feel shame today after another blowout loss.
I’m not interested in the rankings at all.
Just in winning one game at a time.

Who cares about UGA? Great adjustments at halftime, but my goodness: 28 points to Vandy in the 1st half! I know the Jackets won, but know CPJ is less than satisfied. Of course, it’s better to make corrections coming off a win.

Can we at least crack the top 10 this week ? I just hope Oregon’s win over USC didn’t prevent this. But hey, keeping us out of the top 10 may be a motivator the rest of the way. Go Tech !

misterwax good perspective.. How hard can it be to find a motivated exchange student looking for a free ride @ a world class engineering school. If All of the SEC schools (Auburn, Tenn & Bama) are stealing pup prospects then we can go to waters that aren’t as bloody for our needs. A strong kicking game will instantly improve a mediocre defense by minimizing the pressure put on them. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS !

How did Tech “steamroll” Vandy exactly?? Vandy was either tied with or beating the Nerds until th 4th quarter. At least GA handled Vandy easily. Who’s next on your tough ACC schedule?? What a joke!!! What a bunch of NERDS!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I have one serious question for all of you (ten) Tech fans out there. Where were you the last 7 years? There wasn’t a Tech flag or bumper sticker to be seen. Does it really take a few wins to bring you fair weather fans out of the woodwork? That’s sad. What’s also sad is that even though your team is finally having a decent year, you STILL cannot sell out your stadium. Great message that sends to your players from their “fans”. It’s just funny to me how for years and years you saw very VERY few Tech flags or fans, and now they’re everywhere. Let me guess, once you start to crash again, it will be the same old, “we really just care about basketball anyway.”

I was there, and the first half was ugly, but the second was magical.

Good turn out on the road. There were at least 10 thousand Tech fans there. The other half of the stadium was sparse at best and the tech half was full. It was like a half and half at a high school game. We were loud too, might as well have been a home game, other than that annoying boat horn they honk when they score.

BBR:

I saw a ton of UGA flags last year before they started losing games. I haven’t seen any this year. Where did you guys go?

Now you know how most of the fans felt for the Chan Gailey era. I wouldn’t know, for I started watching Tech football last year when I started school there. Get a life.

My boy BBR is having a bad day. Just leave him alone and I am sure he will either shoot himself or beat up a little kid or something. The suicide watch on the UGA Blog is the greatest thing I have ever seen. They look like those bodies in the crappy movie “The Happening” coming off the building. I love college football….when UGA is losing. I saw a Tech sticker on BBR’s girlfiend’s Pacer Wagon as well.

I’ve read and heard complaints about our latest ranking, but I really don’t think we need to be too concerned about it. First, there are seven teams ahead of us who have not yet lost a single game. Regardless of their conference or their mythical “strength of schedule”, a perfect record should count for something. Suffice it to say that several of those teams will be playing each other within the next few weeks, so at least a few will drop from the ranks of the unbeaten.

There are also three 1-loss teams ahead of us … and all three have lost their only game to one of the seven teams mentioned above. Our single loss, on the other hand, came to the U … which is obviously not undefeated. While I personally think the Jackets are playing as well as virtually anyone in the country, you could make a case that our current ranking is “reasonable”. We just need to take one game at a time … win the rest of them … and let the polls take care of themselves. I believe that, if we win our last five games, we will finish the season somewhere between # 3 and # 5. If we build on that foundation, then next year we should start higher and stay higher throughout the season.

Go Jackets!

the tech dc said that the tackleling in the first half was terrible.it seems to me that the coaches might suggest to the defense where to line up.talk about being out of position.the defensive staff needs to buckle down or cpj will find some replacements.

While I’m sitting here watching NFL I cannot help but think how fast GT’s success has come in these 2 seasons…If you take a deep breath and just ask youself, what just happened here? It all started after CPJ was hired in Dec of 2007 and a reporter ask him, “whose going to be your offensive coordinator” CPJ replied in his authoritative type voice ” don’t need one I’m calling the D_____ plays.” At that moment, I knew we had ourselves a coach! thank you DRAD

Funny how the UGA fans can’t even get the details of the Tech-Vandy game straight. For the record, it was tied at 28 at halftime. Vandy went up by 3 early in the third quarter, then Tech scored 28 unanswered.

Seems that Coach Richt has his players spending more time with their “fashion” coordinator than they spend with their “defensive” coordinator!
