Big letdown. Still learned some stuff today/ Still glad Brooking is gone. Rather lose with him gone than win with him here.

It is sad that Atlanta can’t have a team week end week out that you can be proud of. Just sad. Never have we had a consistent team. With all of the weapons on offense, we play like the Radiers!

this game was lost in all aspects. everybody failed, its supposed to be
such a scary offense but really its not. michael turner is the new T.J. DUCKETT.
every time we gave him the ball it was a waste. but what i dont understand is
why they always pull snelling when he’s playing ball. it seems we have a coaching
staff problem. they called a pretty bad game. this has been a very average team
thats lucky sometimes, to me they have not met my expectations at all. not to mention
T.D.with this bust of a draft. our first pick next year should be a corner, our second
should be a running back, and neither injury prone. sometimes the next best pick is
the best one T.D.

Keith Brooking can kiss my rear-end. He acted like an idiot and could have shown a ton of class. Our defense needs a week to practice tackling. The TD before the half was a joke.

These guys coached like we were playing the Pats. Why in the hell would we have our best pass rusher dropping into pass coverage when we were barely getting a rush??? This is coaching. If you coaching staff is that insecure about this team then they shoud quit because that’s exactly what they did today in Arlington. Q U I T T E R S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Observations:

1. When Ryan scrambles he just throws the ball away – Why can’t he make plays like Rothlesberger? Is it because receivers aren’t coached to break off routes the help QB or is he overwhelmed?
2. No pressure from D-Line. Did Abraham play today? Is he done?
3. Whats wrong with Turner? This is not the same guy from a year ago. He runs scared turning his back when he’s about to get hit, to keep from fumbling?, and he looks so slow hitting the hole. Snelling hit the hole today and look what happened!
4. CB’s stink. New Orleans will light those guys up! Thats bad.
5. Need help on D-line. O-line and secondary.
6. Team is at least two years away. Until we get real CB’s and another pass rusher and a speed/power back.
7. This will be a winning season – Just not a SuperBowl team yet!

One other thing.

Falcons got beat up today.

Its time they man up and beat some body else up!

Don’t care Dahl is dirtiest player in NFL. Until you beat someone’s @$$ yo ain’t nothing! Falcons got their @$$ handed to them today! Its time they return the favor!!!!!!!! Until they do that – They ain’t no Pittsburgh, Baltimore or any other Bad A team in the league, they’re just another wannabe!

The tough schedule has caught up…after a loss at NO, the Falcons face Washington coming off of a bye…would expect a win but it will be very difficult. That would put them at 5-3 and in solid position for a wild card berth. However, it is very clear after today (and after last week for that matter) that the Falcons are a long ways from being an elite team…and that is most discouraging.

It was all I could do to root for Keith Brooking when he was here because he was a Tech guy but it is nice to be able to really hate him now for two reasons and if he thinks he will be welcome back here when his “Texas Time” is complete he has another thing coming. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in Saw 7……Game Over.

Most of you guys have summed up our team…
Mularkey’s play calling is very predictable and conservative
Matt Ryan is really looking like a rookie this year–in a serious PANIC
If Smith puts in the best player to win…Mike Turner wouldn’t be in the game–Snelling would
We are not using all the weapons we have…Finneran, Booker, Weems. Michael Jenkins is still very inconsistent. Weems could fill in the slot for Harry Johnson because he is fast and left Dallas dumb founded with his TD.
Our secondary…well, there isn’t one. We need to start fresh and get rid of all our DBs Grimes, Houston, Jackson, and that supposedly “strong safety” Eric Coleman. We cannot play to our strength to save our lives. Good Lord.

Falcons not in elite with Pittsburgh, Indy, the New York football Giants or New England. Good middle of road team. Won’t win big, big games. Will beat teams like Chicago, not teams like NY Giants, New England, Dallas or Baltimore. Dallas and Baltimore aren’t really elite anymore!

Kinda sad really, had hoped they had turned a corner after loss to NE.

I agree Turner look like a TJ Duckett the pass two games. We needed Norwood presents, but he is so injure prone too. Snelling did well, they need to play him more. Grimes must be cut or traded next year along with Jenkins, his time is up as a Falcon. I dont understand why he can not catch a ball, just a waste. They had Abraham hem up, he couldnt get to Romo once. He need to retire too alone with the rest. I dont know Matt is still growing, he just need some players that are man enough to play out there. Otherwise NO is going to hand the Falcon pretty a$$’s to them next game.

Sorry job of coaching. Team was not ready for this game. Falcons are not ready for the big time. Offensive and defensive lines are extremely weak. I love the way the coaches let Snelling run the ball to the one and then put Turner in for the touchdown. Turner–big let down all year. Bad play calling and no offensive or defensive adjustments that worked at the half. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOrrrrrrrr coaching.

It is not as bad as some might think.
We lost a game. a tough game.
The Dallas d-line is good and the Falcons have a hard time with the 3-4. you never know where the blitz is coming from.
Something is wrong with Turner but with his contract he is going no where. Same with Jenkins, he got a new contract last year, he is here for a while
I love my Falcons.

No one should slash their wrists over it. Ryan is probably 4 or 5 years away from hitting his prime. Smith’s playcalling on 4th downs leaves something to be desired.

I guess that it’s all kind of mystifying after you open the game with a great TD drive, and then suck after that.

If the Falcons punt on every 4th and short against the Saints, it’ll be over pretty quickly.

I know it’s one game but I am peeved. We haven’t loss that badly since CAR at CAR in ‘08. Brent Grimes should be let go on the plane home. It’s that simple. He can not tackle. I don’t care how athletic he is he needs to go and I fault Dimtroff/Smith for that. He has done nothing in the league to warrant a starting position this year after being benched last year. I don’t want to hear about the process and building throught the draft when Brian Williams went down Sunday they should have been looking for help. What is with this year draft picks? I don’t I believe I have heard anyone’s name from the draft this sesason. Not looking promising when they are not even good enought to get on the field.

The play calling is not good. If I see them hand the ball to Turner again I will scream!! He was ran to death last year and he will not have the same production. TAke a note from Pittsburgh Smith/Mularkey, give it to the HOT HAND (SNELLING!!) If Parker can lose his sarting postion so should Turner. I hope Norwood is back next week. Mularkey can you please call a play longer than 5 yards? Dinking and Dunking will not work. Throw the ball downfield!!

So let me get this straight….we’ll go for it on 4th and 10, down by 20 with 4 minutes left in the game, but we won’t go for it on 4th and 2, down by only 10 with 9:52 left?????WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought Coach Smith always wants to put the team in a position to win?

Today showed that he needs to work on his game playing decision making. This reminded me of that 4th and 5 he didn’t go for in New Orleans last year. If your going to make it in this league, and give yourself a shot to win close games, or even games you have no business winning, you have to GROW A PAIR from time to time and smack a defense in the mouth!!!!!!

Those of you saying Dallas is not a good team are clueless. Yes, they have played poor at times this year and won. Also remember that Dallas played a terrible game against the so called BIG BAD Giants and still were good enough that the Giants had to have THREE extremely lucky bounces just to be able to kick a last second field goal to win. Against Denver Dallas again played not so well and it STILL took the Broncos a late game touchdown and two very good plays at the very end by a hall of fame cornerback to win THAT game. Dallas just put together a more complete game today than they have played so far this year. The Falcons have good players and a good team but just got beat today by a team that played a better game. The season is NOT lost!

The Falcons I believe when go as far as their coaching allow them, playing safe when they get behind is not going to work at this level. Until you show you can win with passing you are not going to beat the tough team.

Turner is OK but he is not that runner that will attack, meaning if he see a small open he will not attack at all. Coach to your strengths, Put Jenkins on the bench. Contract does not Matter in the NFL they are not Guarantee…PUT HIM ON THE BENCH.

I like there style of defense which is fine for average type QB’s, Because their Offense is not consistent there D will get Beat at Bad sometimes.

The coach staff is trying to protect Ryan with their play calling. I really think Ryan is even better than the coaching think he is, let him throw. These are the teams you have to see what he can do, attack early enough with a chance to win, not when you are down by 20 and try and open up the offense.

The coaching staff must call a much better game now and not wait until the play off and than realized that you can’t compete when you fall. The Arizona game in the playoff should have shown that. Teams are geared to stop the run this year the Falcon have to adjust and show they can win with passing.

Falcons couldn’t protect Ryan, and couldn’t get to Romo. The results were inevitable.

And Brooking is an idiot. Trashing his hometown and the team that made him rich. I would expect nothing more from a Techie. I would rather lose without him than win with him.

At the start of the season, we all thought the O would carry the weak D by scoring 30+ per game. Outside of the SF game, in the 5 other games everyone associated w/ the O has been consistently tentative. Starting w/ the overall play calling, the use of personnel, the slow adjustments to the opponents D game plan, etc., coaching has often appeared inexperienced. The team has been skating on thin ice most of the season – could’ve easily lost Bears game and even Panthers game was a squeaker.
The Coaches need to show up. And when looking at the game film, the most valuable clip they can look at is the hit White took. They need to replay it over and over and over in slo-mo so they can
focus on the resulting bobble head effect. Its painful to watch, but it shows that Dallas had an aggressive plan inplace from both sides of the ball. We, on the other hand, looked like we showed up late and drunk from the tailgate party.

Courage, I agree with all your game assessments. Ryan must not throw the ball away but make plays when everything breaks down with his arms or legs (I don’t care). We look like pretenders yesterday. We made the Cowboys look better than they really are. What’s up with Turner, he’s running like he’s scared and burned out. I can’t believe we blew out teams with the run last year only to fizzle like old fireworks today. Keith, I had more respect for you before your juvenile antics Sunday.

October 26th, 2009

I have said all along Ryan is a punk under pressure. Boston collage he had only one good year. and in the NFL they gave him a pass last year. The Dallas game shows they gave him a break. they manufacture there stars. with out the run game just he is just another QB in the NFL. He does not have the power to carry a team a few hits he is toast!!!

Thoughts on a poor performance:
Ryan will be a very good quarterback but we forget he is only in his second year.

Teams double John Abraham and the Falcons have no pass rush. Whatever they are paying Jamal Anderson, it’s too much. No pass rush puts too much pressure on already overmatched secondary. Brees will have a filed day if he gets as much time as Romo did. Falcons made Romo look like a lock for the Hall of Fame.

Falcons got whipped in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
We knew the secondary was weak but not this bad. Grimes was totally overmatched by Austin. He looked like a junior high player trying to tackle a college player.

Turner is a complete mystery. Is he not getting the blocks he needs or is he not hitting the holes aggressively? Maybe he is weighed down by his contract.

Beginning to think that Michael Jenkins is another Roberto Duran with “Hands of Stone”.

What happened to the latest Falcon draft picks? With the exception of Jerry, I can’t name one.

Falcons are a middle of the pack team. Let’s hopr for a winning season to break the spell.

Always thought Keith Brooking was a class act. Boy, was I wrong. All the hooting, hollering and flapping and he only had two tackles for the game! Gloat while you can, Keith, you’re still a non-factor.

this team will not be among the elite unless,
1. we spend some money on a shut down corner
and our no.1 pick is another.
2.we reevaluate our coaching staff
3.we get a good running back per. no. 2 pick
4.we get some balls, and play to win, and not to lose.
coaching is a big problem
how in three years, you dont coach houston to
turn his head, theres a problem there, and thats only
the begining, why is chevis jackson declining, coaching
why is the middle of the field always open, play calling

Be careful Mr Brookings there are ten games left,You might have to come through Atlanta to get in the second round of the playoffs. Everybody acts like you didn’t know that the defense was a work in progress. Especially with all those rookies and young players on the field. We have to find a way to run the ball effectively all game. I know some key players have went down, but all teams have this problem. You have to have other guys step up. I think the Falcons will rebound and give the Saints there first lost. GO FALCONS…..

Hey, I think the Falcons should do a “Forfeit” and just not show up next week against the Saints and use it as another buy week. There’s no way we’ll win with the CB’s we have so use it to get rested and maybe we can beat the Redskins the following week. It is time for both the defensive and offensive lines to “MAN UP”. And one other thing. Micheal Turner needs to stop tip toeing to the line and answering the questions of why the running game isn’t going well by saying “there aren’t any holes”. Well big boy, your 245lbs, make a damn hole!!!!

Am I the only one scratching their head here?????

Coach Smith did not put us in a position to win yesterday. He made a “rookie” head coaching mistake–BIG TIME. You play to WIN, not put the game in a piss poor defenses (secondary mostly) hands that has been bitch slapped all day long, to try and pull out a win!

offensive performance was mystifyingly inconsistent–its as if there are so many options they don’t know where to go (and does MJ always drop the first couple of passes?). defensive line did a good job against the run, but could not penetrate the o-line. secondary was out of its league (amazing what a couple of decent receivers have done to this group in the last two games) but could get better (not good enough, but better). lack of effective tackling was annoying. we can still beat the Saints
