I won’t say it like others have.

I think that the rain slowed Tech down a lot in the first half. The OL still isn’t blocking in the middle very well. The defense stiffended up in the red zone, but I think that the short field helps along with UVAs below average receiving corp.

Go Clemson!

On a scale of 1-10 I would give the Techsters an overall 8. With regard to the comment about the blocking in the middle, I think the Collins kid (#98) had something to do with that. Go Jackets!

Congratulations on a big win for the Yellow Jackets. Tech’s offense wore down UVA’s defense in the second half and made them pay for it. UVA’s offense is the worst in D-I, so let’s not get too giddy about the defense today. Don’t get me wrong, they played their a$$ off today and held them to 9 points and they were particularly stout inside the 5 yd line. Too many wide open receivers that couldn’t catch the ball. Brad Jefferson played his a$$ off today.

I am proud of our Jackets and truly believe they are coached up. PJ and his staff get the most out of these young men and have them believing in themselves. It is something I haven’t seen on the Flats since the 60’s.

Thank you Coach Johnson and your staff for bringing respectability back to our program.

In halfway through his second year, CPJ has defeated *EVERY TEAM* he has played – sans LSU. Simply remarkable! With CPJ at the helm, DRAD orchestrating the athletics, the top-rated hoops recruit and a promising hoops season (hopefully Hewitt’s last), it is a SWEET time to be a fan of the Ramblin’ Wreck!

Done in a driving rain, for most of the game! I was so proud! Did you notice the time of possession? Tech had the ball 43 minutes, UVA 17. That’s Paul Johnson ball control.

Did you see J Dwyer lay that guy out after escaping the grip of another guy who grabbed him in the backfield? 7 defenders put hands on him before he was finally brought down…Our backs WERE STUDS today! What pride this team has brought upon itself and the city and oh by the way THE STATE OF GEORGIA !!!! GO JACKETS!!!!

Solid defensive performance. Dominating ball control.

I thought sure that when we spotted ‘Ginny twice inside the red zone they would put up seven each time. This is the first time in a long time that we have not allowed a touchdown in a game.

Kudos to all the young men. Solid team effort top to bottom.

Solid game for the bees. Another bad streak broken! The team has great heart – Nesbitt, Dwyer, Morgan, Allen (who was a stud today with some key runs) and Jefferson. UVa played good defense but clearly got tired at the end (who wouldn’t after a 16 play drive?). Need to pray for the Tigers. Go Clemson!

I hope all the “experts” who complain about the triple option offense will
shut up now! Controlling the ball over two-thirds of the third quarter broke
the back of the UVa defense. That is good football in anybody’s book!

Derrick Morgan is as handsome as he is talented….

Based on the way Georgia Tech is playing this year, but considering the Conference they play in (ACC), it is indeed possible that they will beat the Dawgs. Possible? Yes; Probable? No.

It’s Geeorgia’s turn to ‘turn’ the tables in 2009. Having said that I must commend Paul Johnson and his staff for putting out a fine product.

1. Most Georgia Tech fans actually go/went to the school
2. Just because Georgia Tech is ten times the school that uga is doesn’t make every Tech student/alum a nerd.
3. Look at the respective starting salaries out of the two schools
4. We have 4 national championships to your 2, soo history really proves nothing for you.
5. We have lost one game this year and it was to a top 25 team who was the talent to contend but not the discipline
6. uga sucks this year; you were the better team last year, but you honestly have 1 decent player on your team now
7. Stop talking and wait for the game. Just because your team is having a horrible season doesn’t mean you have to comment on a pointless blog about someone else’s win and start talking trash about a rivalry game that is a long way off.
8. Just become a Tech fan. You most likely have no connection to uga at all, so its not all that difficult. We really are better in all the important fields. The end…

Recognition TripleThreat? ESPN is showing every game film and have not seen anything yet of GT’s very important win. Right now they are showing Indiana State. We get NOOOO respect from ESPN. But I like it cause we seem to play better when we get no respect. Take UGA, who took the week off before the FLA instead of the weekend before GT. Thank you GA, we now have 2 weeks to get ready for you. You don’t have that long. But, you will wish you had. Now showing other CFB games … maybe we will be in that. Showed all the people up for the Heisman. No one from the ACC tho.

I am sorry but that freaking center for the Jackets ain’t touching anyone about half the time. He has a tendency to make d-line guys look great. CPJ sees this and raem his butt or find someone else. I am not worried. He is a smart kid and knows what to do, get it done!

The difference in GT football is PAUL JOHNSON. He has his boys ready to play, and they love to play for him. I’m 57 years old, and went to Tech games, when Dodd was there. I believe Johnson is a better Coach than Dodd. It isn’t his system as much as it is him. He is a leader. He reminds me of the old Confederate GBenerals, who could take a lesser army, and beat a bigger bragging army.

I still dont like the triple option. It just dosent have enough balance.(run, pass).
Who have we played this year??? Miami(loss) VaTech(close win) The rest of the games have been played against teams that are having bad years.
I will hold off on all the praise being heaped on CPJ and the triple option (or any other terminology you want to call it) until after we play some stronger teams.

Your email name could well describe me. I retired over 20 years ago and moved to the NC mountains. Physical restraints make me a better fit in a slower environment than Atlanta even tho I was born and raised there. (family is still there)

Incidently Duke and their passing attack scares me. Watch the outcome of this game closely. Could be an upset. One of the reasons, is Tech has a bad habit of reading and believing all this praise being blown their way. I know a lot of folks say CPJ wont let this happen, but never the less it happened at LSU and Miami among a couple of others.

A Rob

Jack,
Everyone entitled to an opinion. Have to disagree however with yours sir. Yes, we were handled by Miami. Other than that….If you watched all of the Va Tech game you should have seen that it really was not a close game once we got ahead. We basically allowed them to put up the last TD with a prevent and it was meaningless. As to the FSU game, we could have put up another TD at the end, but PJ called off the dogs. And a possible Duke upset, not gonna happen.
The LSU game is truly the only game where you can say we were not ready and had a big head. One more year for PJ and his system, plus better and more experienced players. Not surprised at all by what he has accomplished.
Have a little more faith.

I appreciate a blog like your reesponse to my blog.
No name calling, just an honest disagreement.

Also my dislike of the triple option, does not change my loyalty to Tech. I still want to win everygame, but also try to give a realistic approach to every game. CPJ is just getting more hype than I think is deserved. Its just not time tested as of yet.
