Falcons caught looking at the Championship rings of the Patriots. I thought the players were going to kiss the Patriots after the game. Abraham and the other GIRLS (Jamal Anderson) on defensive line should have had on a DRESS today………because they looked like they were dancing at the PROM>

I’ve seen this many times before. The Patriots offense against our defense looked like a cat playing with a mouse. They could do anything they wanted against us. I don’t think Brady even needed to dress for this game. He could have been in street clothes today. We can’t stop the run or the pass….hell, pick one or the other and at least try to stop something. I was also disappointed in our offense. We couldn’t run the ball and therefore couldn’t pass the ball. We were totally beated on both lines of scrimmage today.

I thought the Falcons didn’t show the bravado on 4th downs like the Patriots. The 4th down on the 38 yd line and punt! You’ve got to show guts and confidence in your team. Then the Falcons punt the ball away with 1 timeout left with 7 minutes left and 16 points down! You have to try at that point to get a first down or the game is basically over. I’m confused because I love our Coach Smith but he didn’t make the best decisions to put our team in a position to win.

Frankly, I am done with kissing this coaching staffs’ a$$! Today they showed an utter lack of creativity both offensively and defensively. I suppose that no completions to TG ’til the 3rd qtr. was part of the gameplan??? I suppose that the stale running game to this point was worthy of up the middle for nothing repeatedly in the first half??? I suppose that the only play worth challenging is one involving TG??? God forbid he (Smitty) challenge defensively on third down when Grimes clearly dislodged the ball going out of bounds (Moss). I put this loss squarely on the coaches, for it was obvious the entire game that we had the edge in athleticism and talent. The coaching staff has an utter lack of creativity and will-power. Ever heard the saying nothing ventured nothing gained??? We did not blitz one time and paid the price for our arrogance. As if the Jets did not lay the foundation for us. NO PRESSURE!!! We deserved to lose and this from a true Falcon’s fan. What an utter waste of talent and an utter lack of coaching by the Falcons’ staff. I am, and we should be ashamed! Screw the officials! It should not have been in their hands to begin with. Our coaches have NO GUTS! Case closed! Argue with that! We’ll be lucky to have a winning season with the likes of them. I kept my mouth(keyboard) shut last week, fearing such an exhibition. And here it was for the whole world to see….Nice job coaching staff! I repeat; NO GUTS!!! No blitzes=No wins!! DUH? Even I know that! Brady and his coaches did too….Pathetic!
Good luck! I am thouroughly disgusted with the effort and personnel decisions. Go ahead and give JA98 another start Fools! What more do you need to say??? Utterly dissappointed, in the Atl.

With a current record of 2-0, this game vs New England, the Falcons did not have much of a passing game, and New England had better plays, and their defense was better, WHY? I am not giving up on my Falcons, but we have to learn from this. We shouldn’t loose our next game!!!!! Were we prepared for this game? Now, with a record of 2-1, we have to win the next few games to stay on top.

I love the Falcons, but we lost due to inept coaching. How does that reflect on the fans? Are we not allowed to call them out? You can single out all the players that you want, but on either side of the ball: They were not put in positions to win all day. You will get beaten by the good teams if your coaching SUCKS! Ours’ did! Period!
I still have hope, but the Staff must take the blame for this loss and make adjustments, or this scenario will be repeated. And repeated. And repeated. And repeated.

The falcons will never win with Pop Warner sized D-backs against pro sized receivers. Looked like the midgets out there. Offense was the worse I saw in the past 5 years. No imagination and no spirit. A 12 year old could draw up better plays in the dirt with a popsicle stick.
Receivers had no separation in the second half and the great O-line sucked. Need a real running back with drive, that does not go down with a hand slap to the leg. Overall grade for this game: Team–D, Coaches–F-. Team was not ready to play.

Attempt numero dos…
Uninspired, reactionary, poorly prepared and little execution.
Not much else to say. Pats gave the berdz every opportunity to take the game and apparently they were not interested.
Why fellas, allow me!
Matt Ryan, meet Tony Gonzalez.
All pro.
Great hands.
Future hall of famer.
Creates his own space.
Look for him Matt, he’s usually got a step on his defender.
I’m not sure but did Ryan throw a ball to Gonzalez all game? I don’t remember one but I FF thru a bunch of repetative laziness and may have missed it.

I can’t believe what I have been reading here today! The team is 2-1, and had a bad day against a Super Bowl caliber team, who was seeking revenge from a loss last weekend, in THEIR BACK YARD, who are (BTW) being coached by arguably the best coach in the NFL! I have loved the Falcons since childhood (late 60’s) but there is NO WAY I would have betted on them to win this game today….and they didn’t. I have the Falcons winning 11 games again this year, and this is certainly one of the losses that I expected. You fans need to get a life….want to retread back to the days of Petrino?! This coaching staff, ownership group, and players, have brought the team back from laughingstock to respectable in record time. Be happy you live in Georgia and SUPPORT your freaking team! I happen to live in DC and have little to no opportunities to enjoy my beloved Falcons, but I have to sit in Nationals Park and watch the mediocrity of your sorry Braves several times a year. Atlanta fans truly are some of the worst in sports.

This coaching staff is garbage. You mean to tell me all the offensive weapons on this team and the Patriots shut down everyone? We’re still running Turner and we’re 9 points down, then we put the ball on 4th and 3? Mularkey is full of Mularkey. And don’t even talk about this atrocious defense…my God. We are two good years of building the defense to be a contender. This current defense is a patchwork of rookies and over the hill players.

The defense played held the Pats to field goals on 4 drives, but the offense has to stay on the field to give the D a breather. Heard on NFL Network during the week that the Falcons defense was suited for the Pats style of play. They were not attacking like the Jets, and if Brady is given time, it’s extremely tough to beat the Pats.
If bystanders could figure this out, how come the Falcons coaching staff could not?
You have to develop a scheme for the team that you’re playing, bit offensive and defensive, and the Falcons did not do that. This loss goes largely to the coaching staff.

Not even a hint of pressure on Brady. If he isn’t as off as he was, we lose by two more TD’s. Ryan was hurried all day. Turner’s fumble was the turning point in the game.
We’re an average NFL team (at best) without better play out of the D line. I think Peria Jerry’s injury is going to hurt us worse than expected. Where is William Moore?

I can’t get too mad at my 7/8 yr old team after seeing the Falcons performance in NE. How can professional atheletes just go through the motions? Is it too much to ask to go all out, 200%, on each play for less than 4 hours for 16 weeks of the year? The Falcons look just like the Falcons…..Got their butts kicked from the punter to the head coach and all points in between…..But I do want to say thank you for some outstanding individual efforts….You made me proud on a number of plays…..butI want that number to be 100%.

Who told the Falcons to Kiss the Patriots Rings? I mean the Patriots could only stop the Patriots today. Did our Defense even get off the plane? I am sorry guys this reminded me too much of the Defense that played in the Preseason. We lacked fire, we had no pass rush, and the Patriot’s lackluster run game gashed us with a 70 year old running back. The Pats beat us soundly in the second half today. Someone tell DeCoud this is his shot! You must make plays when the ball is in your hands. DeCoud should have had two picks. I like Peterson but too much chatter today with his old buddy Taylor and not enough tackling. Peterson should have blown up some plays in the backfield instead he choose to arm tackle. News Flash!!!Grimes is fast and has heart but too short. We may need to use Chevis Jackson more on the taller receivers in the Nickel or at Corner. Defense, you must bow up for us to go deep in the playoffs. We believe in you but Championship Teams win on the road in big games with balance on Offense and Tenacity on Defense. Let’s evaluate where we are and grow because the schedule doesn’t get any easier. San Fran doesn’t plan on laying down for us, and yes they do intend to run the ball.

Falcons never have been “mudders”. Why else do you think they built an indoor stadium? Add to that the Patriots are America-Bush-Cheney’s team (the Patriot Act?), after halftime’s review of the Falcon’s playbook and the tape of signals (the Patriot Act?), it was just a matter of Billy Check holding back his team, so it looked like it was a fair game. Everyone knew the Falcons were going to lose this game. Only giving up 26 is great!

Sad, sad, sad! What has been in this blog the last few weeks is fairly accurate. Mr. Blank, I know you are trying to provide Atlanta with an adequate program, but we are MILES away from the elites. I am not sure of Coach Smith’s game plan, but it sure seemed to take a long time for him to figure it out. I can think of 5 QB’s that cannot wait to play Atlanta(Brees, Cutler, Romo, Manning and of course McNabb/Vick) and their secondary. If we don’t do something soon to pressure the opposing QB, we are heading for a sub .500 season.

The Falcon are not all that! the run Game is gone and soon the passing game will be gone and a weak defence! They have been exposed. This was a front by the NFL any ways. They got a pass last year. Talk about bandwagoneers!!! And you call yourself fans!!! I suspect that many of you are sporting current/past New England addresses. This game was weird. Officiating was suspect the entire game, particularly the head ref with his Bostonian accent. Pretty obvious NFL. Moss was pushing off all day and only got called ONCE.
Our defensive line needs immediate help. We should have gone after Richard Seymour once we caught wind that the Pats were cutting him loose. I understand the need to build through the draft and sign young up-and-coming stars, but the defensive tackles on this team scare no one. We should have never let Grady Jackson go. That was DUMB. Worst mistake made in Dimitroff’s short reign. Note to Team: 350+ pound nose tackles that can play are RARE and you should NEVER let one go.

One thing i want to point out…the people that are saying “Vick should be our QB” is total BS. Vick is my favorite QB, but what’s done is done. Ryan is the QB of the Falcons now.
Is he better than Vick? At the moment, yes. Overall, no.
Will the Falcons be limited with Ryan at QB? Yes. Obviously, he has a higher ceiling than some people on here give him credit for, and some people have raised it to where he “is the next Brady”. Playing in Atlanta, he will never reach that linit, because the front office and the fans here will f it up. Well…maybe not so much…Ryan will get a pass from the white fans here. Have the black fans given Vick a pass? yes. It works both ways. I like Vick because he’s a great QB…not because of his color.
Ryan doesn’t have the arm to stretch the field with accuracy and he has trouble throwing into tight windows (this was proven again, yet certain people that have annointed him already ignore it)
Ryan is a very good QB, but may never be great. If Turner has a down year this year, the Falcons are in trouble. You people already know that the defense is terrible, and teams will be able to pass very easily on them.
As for Vick….its going to be a slow process….if anyone can make a comeback, its him.
Vick will shine again……….

When the defense remarks “they surprised us”, I could understand taking a couple of series or maybe a half to get it straightenrd out. But they didn’t do anything different for the whole game, other than Smith chewing out the defensive line. Can our coaches not make adjustments?
Why can our defensive ends not make an inside rush occasionally instead of getting run 10 yards around the Q.B on every play. And I agree that Anderson needs to be moved inside. I can rush the passer as good as he can and i am 50+ years old.

The falcons did not play bad this weekend but after watching the patriot’s front line hold on nearly every play, specifically Todd Light against Abraham, it is no wonder the falcons lost!

Every time the Falcons look like they are getting an ounce of respect, they stink it up on national tv!!
No wonder no one EVER gives us respect….WE HAVE NEVER EARNED RESPECT !!!
