I’m glad we didn’t quit and didn’t play to conservative in the 4th quarter. Heading to the car. Tired of the rain. Ramblin Wreck!

Darn that high school offense – I thought it had been figured out – particularly by B. Davis. A great win for the Jackets. Go ARIZONA STATE!

Alabama Jack + 1, the episode at the end of the half was was flat unfprofessional and simply not knowing the rules of the freaking game. The number of no calls against UNC is uncalled for. But hey Tech won despite all the crap. Big Win for the Jackets. THWG

In addition to the debacle at the half, the announcers pointed out a hold on 91 and a face mask that wasn’t called on on of our backs, and a horse collar tackle on another. They also thought the pass interference call against us was very, very weak. Did the zebras fly back to Chapel Hill on the team plane?

No surprise re the zebras. the ACC consistently has the most incompetent officials (both fb and bb) in college athletics.

I still want to hear the officials ruling on why they didn’t stop the clock right before half. If not when he went out of bounds, then when the chains are moved. Beyond my comprehension.

Rob, I concur. ACC refs are the most biased and/or corrupt in the land esp. favoring tobacco road or anyone else who will bribe them. They tried their best to give the game to UNC in the 1st half finally giving up because Tech was so much better. Give all credit to Tech players & coaches for overcoming such adversity and keeping focused on just execution & winning the game.

Great win. Back into the Top 25. Va. Tech is leading Miami 21-0 at the half as I had hoped. Now all we have to do is win the rest esp. against the Hokies during Homecoming and the Coastal Division is ours if Miami loses another game! If all 3 have only one loss to each other, I suppose they would go to some kind of a tie-break.

bigdawg01 doesn’t understand that most Tech grads leave the state for high-paying jobs in other states & abroad whereas he saves his money from his job at Burger King all year to drive his pick-up to Athens, leave tons of trash after his tail-gate, hurl obscene epithets at visiting fans, get drunk, & bark with his other red-necks who never went to college during the game. Tech always has plenty of fans at away games no matter how far away they are.

Ok d-bags..
7 out of the past 8 does not make me feel bad, assram. I am not bringing up the past only dealing with the present. FACT is your fan base sucks, your team sucks, your fans do not show up for a season defining game, period. You have to bribe people to go to games with hot dogs and cokes…like i said earlier, PATHETIC. Your stadium should have been sold out, but it was not. DO NOT tell me how great your team is, how great your school is until you can sell out a 55k stadium for every home game. Sanford is sold out for all home games. Enjoy your one win….and to Peach Fuzz…I will be back after we BEAT ASU. You girls are very entertaining.

bigdawg01 …. GA sells out their stadium every game, they have a waiting list (I think) for season tix; Sanford holds somewhere around 90,000 people – almost twice as many as Grant Field. Now, how many wins & NCs has that resulted in for the dogs again? I’m missing your point on GT seldom selling out their standium.
I even saw plenty of people leaving at HALFTIME today with the score 10-0! Yeah, it doesn’t make me happy as a die-hard GT fan, but in the end the scoreboard read GT 24 UNC 7. Do you think Blair would’ve made the 37yd & 27yd field goals had the stadium been sold old??
The games are played on the field, not in the stands.

This was a real CPJ football. Dominant in every facet. Yeah we muffed a few on special teams and the REFS were absolutely horrible. Five major blown calls – even after the replays.Everyone knows that the clock stops when the guy goes out of bounds. Towards the end of the game they even forgot how to rule on the play. Simply awful. Watching CPJ “giving them the bidness” was priceless!
Nesbitt is one of the toughest running backs at quarterback in NCAA football. We still need the deep threat and I hope Jaybo Shaw gets in soon so we can do that. Besides another spectacular effort by Dwyer the rest of the running backs are starting to step up their game.
The Defense finally arrived on Saturday. Miami was either an aberration or the Jackets were asleep. Not anymore. Mississippi State will find out next week the Jackets are for real !

The difference this week to last was simple. The players came in fired up with energy and the coaches did a better job preparing the team. This offense has to have everybody executing their assignments and making blocks on their man. It was noticeably better this week than last.
The defense is coaching problems, not lining up in the right place, guarding the wrong man. etc. Again much better this week.
Nest week will be another good test to see which team decides to show up. Time to take down SEC school for fun.
Sorry Dogs

Somewhere on the GT campus there has got to be a kid that can kick better than Blair. Two missed field goals and two kick offs out of bounds. That’s not gonna get it done.
I hate the UOG team but damn that AJ Green kid is a stud. His uniform is ugly as hell but he’s the real deal. Fat Matt should have given him a couple million of that guaranteed $$$ because he sure wouldn’t have gotten it without him. He’d look good in a Falcon’s uniform. Hopefully this is his last year at the farm school.
Looks like changing the defense was a good decision. Nice win. Good to see Dwyer back in form.

Nesbitt probably earned a lot of respect from his teammates. That was a gutty performance.
I have been complaining about the lack of blocking from all positions all fall. There was improvement. There is a long way to go. The tackling looked good. Offhand I do not remember any missed tackles.
But wait till I review the tape.
I was really glad to see Hill get in on the receiving end.

Yeah the refs were a disgrace. There is absolutely no excuse for not stopping the clock on the first down. Johnson’s comments to TV are probably going to draw a fine from the ACC office. The Tech officials should absolutely refuse to pay the fine. Sometimes in life one must stand up for what is right. This is one such time. Tech must tell the ACC to take their membership & stick it.

We played a good game,BUT WE still do not have the KILLER instinct. We could have put Carolina to sleep before half time and we didn’t.I agree with mike branca–let’s get a kicker that has his mind on the game.I’m all for getting smart people at Tech but give me a break. We can’t hit a 27 yarder?I watched the Miss State/LSU game and I’ll tell you –this is not the Sylvester Croome bulldogs we saw last year.I hope our guys don’t take them to lightly—this is a very goog football team we are playing next week—- they are capable of beating anyone.

ACC is a very strange conference this year. One week a team looks good the next, it looks bad.
I believe we’ll know more about GT in the next few weeks when the have to go on the road to Miss. State and FSU.

Great game, except that we stalled too often on offense. It should have been 21-0 instead of 10-0 at the half! I see 2 reasons: (1) play calling is too often repetitive – why don’t we use the options we have at our disposal? When we do, we usually move the chains. Nesbitt keeping the ball himself 40% of the plays doesn’t cut it. (2) Nesbitt’s decision making ability is suspect (again). Was he trying to pad his numbers? Several times it looked to me as if the pitch would have been the better choice. Often it appears that he is only focused on the one receiver he has in mind when he hikes the ball, no matter what the defense is showing. We need a QB that can adjust to what the defense is showing and make quick decisions effectively.
Other than that, great game. Great win! Go Jackets!
