THe obvious has been finally revealed to those who wear Black & Gold and kept their heads buried in the sand…Your Defensive Backfield SUXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!! Dawgs, LSU, CLemson & now The U have repeatdly exposed this but two 3 point W’s had you believing your Jackets were the greatest thing since sliced bread!!! Even the immaculant CPJ can’t cover up this Porous Defense when his O is stymied. Triple Option??? How bout NO OPTION???

Enter your comments here Tech is reading too many headlines that they are good. Tonight they showed this to be wrong. They looked horrendous. No pass defense, No run defense and no offense. A pathethic display and on national TV.
PJ has to read the riot act to not only to his team, but also the coaches and also to himself. They need a chunk of confidence, Right now they look like a sandlot team.

Quaildog….. It’s white and gold… not black and gold, and nothing’s been exposed except our poor secondary and a TERRIBLE O line. The option can put up points on everyone if executed properly just like UGA’s pro offense.. but if it’s not executed, then it won’t work. Do you know anything about football, or do you just get all your tips from your sister/wife?

Where was our offensive line tonight? They got blown off the ball on every play. I thought in their second year in this offense that the O-line would be one of the strong suits for this team. So far, they’ve been an embarrassment.
And who the hell is drawing up the schemes for our secondary?

Love Georgia – LSU didn’t exactly destroy our offense. They only outgained us by 10 ten yards. We gave them that game with poor special teams play.
As for the world catching up to our offense – no offense works well when it’s not executed properly. I would have thought you learned that in the Okla State game.

Real Old Gold, Excuse me WHite & Gold. Yes I know something about football…more than I can say about the majority of those of spoke of earlier who would not acknowledge the obvious. AS I have stated repeatedly, but GT fans did not want to admit, save for shoddy tackling by UGA the press would have ripped Tech a new one about the 400+ passing yards and 6 TD’s Stafford threw for.

The problem with that offense is, IF you shut it down, you win. There is no plan B or C. It’s just not diversified enough to keep defenses guessing beyond its own trick block schemes. When it works, it looks awesome (last Miami game) and when you shut it down, it looks awful (this Miami game). Go Canes! What a difference not having Nix can make! They are young too, so, get used to it.

Offense: I don’t care what kind of offense you are running, if you don’t block anyone you’re toast. Our O-Line missed blocks or flat got beaten all night. The success of this kind of Option Offense makes the assumptions that down-field blocks will be made (by backs and receivers) and we missed those all night. The one decent down-field block we made was the block in the back that brought the first touchdown back.
Special Teams: Much better on returns. O. Smith did a pretty good job tonight–especially considering the performance of the return teams the past few years.
Defense: I know we are soft in the secondary, but everyone just looked whipped out there. …and depth is a key issue to begin with. Three games in twelve games is insane and I think that it showed most on defense. Loosing a DE will be costly down the road.
Between the ears: Not only were we physically fatigued, but it showed mentally as well. Careless penalties. Back-to-back false starts. A tackle giving a false start on a short-yardage quarterback draw. The botched long snap. The list unfortunately just goes on and on.
Let’s not get melodramatic here. The team was worn out and laid an egg. They get a long week to rest up for the next game. We could see one or two more of these since we don’t have another long week/bye until the week before UGA.

Evidently Miami’s defense had no problem following the ball when Tech had it. Tech’s defense looked like the freshman dummies against Miami which had to expel little effort against their 1-AA like opponents. Tech needs more opponents like Jacksonville State….

Tech fans, Before the game started, I was planning to come to this site (after the game) to send some zingers to the Tech fans who would go to so.fl. newspaper sites and talk smack about how Tech was going to run for 400-500 yds, and how they were going to run up the score on Miami (couple even mentioned 200+ points to eclipse your historic mark). Realized it would be pointless because #1- Miami is the gold standard in college football and while they have been down for 3 years, I had no doubt they would play as well as they did, and, #2- I just can’t find myself able to stir up any sort of hate for your program. You’re not a giant rival like FSU or VT, two teams we have been playing for a long time, and you are not a team we hate, like the gators. Your team is highly respected by intelligent Cane fans. The sleeping giant in Coral Gables is waking up. Whether they awake fully this year, we will see. But when they are back on top (and it clearly won’t be long), we still won’t hate you the way we do the gators. It will just be college football the way it is supposed to be. Tough game (paybacks really are a bitch), but we true canes fans wish you luck the rest of the season. Hope you spank VT when you play them. I hope the canes do too, actually. If the canes play the way they did on Thrs., Canes should run the table. Jacory for the Heisman!

Not very surprising how all the doggie fans show their lack of class. Tech was bad, no doubt about it. They proved a very old football fact. The game is won or lost at the line of scrimmage. Miami’s line both defensively and offensively dominated. Tech had no pass rush and Miami was getting 5 yards every running play. However, I would rather be a Jacket then a dog!! I have a riddle for all you doggie fans. What do Tech and Georgia fans have in common? Neither went to Georgia!!

My Oh my….we were totally blown away. I know the jackets were tired from the first drive on. Should have been closer if we didn’t make several bone head score killing penalties. Nesbitt still cannot throw the ball because he always crouches too low. Time to try a faster QB and move Nesbitt to an A or B. I am just surprised there were no 5 yard over the middle passes to keep Miami honest. And why did the helmets keep poping off? Weren’t those extra hands around the masks a few times?
We’ve got some work to do.

Rico…you need to take something to bring you down off your high man…a three point win over Georgia last year was an aberition….Georgia gave you the ball twice inside your own twenty yard line…a junior high team could have scored if they were spotted that advantage…Tech is not that good….get over it. You won’t win this year…..your gimmic offense has been exposed…everybody can’t wait to play Tech…your defense plays like school girls. Its going to be a long year on the flats!

Tech looked like the offense we ran when I was playing at New Hampshire (wink, wink). How pathetic was that. I didn’t think that everybody would figure out their gimmick little offense this quick but I guess that Paul Johnson had a good run. 9-3 isn’t bad even though they play in the ACC. I hope that Josh Nesbitt learns to read before the end of the year because that really would boost his confidence. I hope North Carolina takes it easy on Tech because attendance would get below 30,000 again. Well got to fill out some resumes.

I know there are a lot of Nesbit fans, but last night started to remind me of Reggie Ball… That is one scary thought. The QB has to complete a pass periodically to keep the defense honest. If Nesbit continues to miss these open WR’s, it could get interesting when Jaybo returns. And trust me, I am hoping Nesbit turns it around. It HAS to change though, or it could make for a very long season.
Also, Harris is a good QB, but our defensive line helped make him appear great. When a QB can feel that comfortable in the pocket, the secondary has NO chance.
Let’s hope the coaching staff rips them a new one and moves on. LizDawg, “Are you stupid?” hardly qualifies as a “bashing”, as you call it. Trust me, Mark Richt has likely said mush worse to his players. That is by no means a rip on him. You should be more concerned if a player makes an idiotic mistake, and the coach rubs him on the back while saying “that’s okay buddy, you gave it your best shot”.

How can a team be so out of shape! I have never seen players gassed so early in a game before. Sucking bad air in the first quarter. What’s up? We were beaten in every phase!!! I am starting to wonder if Dwyer is this years Michael Johnson. Been reading all the predictions about being a first round draft pick next year so he’s to not take any chances,or push very hard to impress since he already has, and jeopardize his draft status. Guess what, that approach cost Johnson millions last year and it might do the same for Dwyer next year! It’s time for him to man-up for the school that has made it possible for him to make millions! He owes us that much!

I’m a huge Tech fan and season ticket holder. That said, all of the worries I had at the start of the season were verified Thurs. Defensive line play is poor except for Morgan – no pass rush at all so the secondary play cannot be critized too much yet. Offensive line is suspect. Other coaches will be watching this game to see how and stop the option. Something is missing; actually Navy looked better in the Ohio State game than we have looked this year, and we have not played a great game since the UGA game last year. The defense was bad in that one with a more talented interior line. This game looked like four star recruits playing two star ones – did you notice Miami’s speed?
We do have one of the best college coaches in the land so I hope he can get some of the problems corrected by next week or we could be in for a tough time. As for all the UGA fans rejoicing, we will be ready for you in Nov.

Our line play on both sides was awful. Our downfield blocking was awful. Our tackling was awful. Our decision making was awful.I think our guys have paid to much attention to their press clippings.I actually thought this would happen. They were terrible against Clemson last week and very lucky to win that game.Historically,we have never handled high rankings well.I always cringe when we get ranked because I know we are about to lose a game. I hope CPJ can right the ship or we are going follow a great season with an awful season. If we don’t develope a halfway decent passing game,we are never going to win consistently and I hate to say it but Josh is a terrible passer–terrible.Look at last night- mostly HOPE AND A PRAYER passing–pitiful.

Tech did suck it up last night. However, I do find it funny that everyone says the offense is figured out. I would say any offense is “figure out” if as soon as you snap the ball the offensive linemen are throwing look out blocks…
I also find it amuzing that Tech got beat by a better team and all the puppy fans come out and run their ignorant inbread redneck idiotic mouths. Just wait and see what Florida does to y’all. Then will your defense be exposed? will your offense have been figured out? Go screw yourselves puppy fans… you got lucky to beat usceast and got beat by a team that lost to houston hahahaha

Reaaaalllly…. you should check OUR blogs and see what all your idiot fans (all 10 of you) post day in and day out, then tell us to stay off your NERD blog! Practice what you preach, dork! You’re just mad because your average team got the hell beat out of them last night.

“Just wait and see what Florida does to you”.. Really? Is that all you’ve got?? They’ll probably crush us like they do every other team they play, but that is a risk you take when you have to actually play decent teams ALL SEASON LONG, unlike Tech’s pathetic schedule.

Can’t wait to come to Atlanta, with our young team…we will only get better……you are just lucky Shannon does not believe in running up the score. If Harris kept on throwing it would have been much worse. We have been down but not out, look out because we will only get better. See you in Atlanta….we can’t wait!!!!!!!!!

It’s time to man up and place blame where blame needs to be placed, Tech’s defensive scheme as of late has been AWFUL!! the same players from last season okay you lost a few from the defensive-line but there is still talent there and not just D Morgan solid linebackers group secondary that should be ranked in the nation but for some reason there is a lot of confused kids on this defense some say its an attitude problem I agree but I also know for a fact attitude is a direct result of leadership Defensive coordinator start leading or get the f–k off the field as for the offense a couple of yards and a cloud of smoke then we break one we are always one block away from a touch down please start back making the block and start back playing as one unit, individual and selfish efforts will get your ass handed to you again there is far to much talent on this team for you guys to look like garbage on national television . CPJ you are a good coach but please pay as much attention to your coaching staff as you do your players. best wishes-NOW LETS BEAT UNC
