83-23 and you people bitch and moan. How about we put cameras at your work place and let the nation decide if you are performing well enough.

The defensive backfield couldn’t cover my grandma…when we play the Gators we are going to be embarrassed. Willie and the bend but don’t break mind set is a prescription for disaster!

Ditto with Chazzo’s post and others that saw that the D did pretty good considering. What I did see was not just the DE’s not applying pressure, but a 4 man rush most of the night…few stunts and few blitzes from the secondary. So, the front 4 did pretty good since the pass rush was mostly up to them all night; and they were on the field so long.

You can’t run the ball every play. The opposing D will just stack the line. The final stats show a fairly balanced attack…and 41 points. You can’t throw to AJ more if he aint open. Like CMR said, the red-zone D was pretty dang good.

Fire Michael Adams and the Water Girl.

Jborodawg you are right. The 4 man rush did what it was designed to do. It closed the middle and forced the QB out but with no outside help he was able to roll out and hit the middle and flat, or run for 7 to 8.

I agree with savtl. Martinez did absolutely nothing to adjust our defense. It’s sickening when sucky SC can continue to get 10-12 yards on EVERY throw.

Agree with Larry 100%.
People keep saying that we’re never happy with anything. Well, guess what? If crappy SC can put up that many points on us, can you imagine what Florida is going to do to us?? This is just like last year. The offense has to score every time they get the ball just to keep up with the defense’s crappy play. I don’t blame the players, I blame the coaches–Martinez for not ever making necessary adjustments, and Richt for possibly being too loyal to him to do what needs to be done.

We’re a Horribly Coached team. CMR may be a good recruiter and a good Christian man. But that is it. Learn from God Mark and make changes!!! Humbleness through Humiliation is not worth it. Get BOBO and Willie a job at Prince Ave. Academy and get us some coaches who are mean as hell and want to win some football games and kick a little a– along the way.

I am so grateful to be able to come on this forum and learn from some of the greatest sports minds to never be utilized in history. So what you’re saying is we could give up less than 100 yards every game if we just make adjustments? Wow! You are so right! Me and all of the other proffesional coaches in the program never thought of that. It seems so simple and rec. league logic-ish and yet utterly brilliant. So just to be clear… If they are throwing underneath then we put some guys there? If they pass it we try to intercept it? If they are running it then we have to try to line up our defense to stop that? I think I get it but just in case I’m going to keep checking in and try to glean as much free wisdom I can. I’m also going to let the other coaches know what a hotbed of football genius lies just a few short clicks away. Good luck winning that rec-league champioship this year, and with your fantasy football too. Thanks again and keep the brilliance comingEnter your comments here

Defense is still killing us! Why would you play zone with the D Backs 10 yards away from the receiver when it is 3rd and 4 or 5 to go? Why didn’t we jam the receivers at the line of scrimmage? We kept GIVING them easy yardage all night long. We were LUCKY to get away with a win. Martinez has no clue about defense. Why not at least give the man to man coverage a shot? It isn’t like the zone was working and that we would be taking a huge chance! Who was assigned the backs coming out of the backfield on the pass in the flats? NOBODY! Willie is the killer of our team!

One more thing. How many times will our D backs allow the reciver to get behind them? It happened in last weeks game against Ok State and again this week against SC. This is something you teach 10 year olds. Do not let the receiver get behind you!

3 and out = plenty of rest for the Defense. Quit letting the other team drive the ball and you can get back to the sideline for your rest.

DB’s need eyes installed in the back of their helmets. We will be seeing alot of flags if they keep face guarding and remain clueless of where the ball is at.

Shouldn’t coaches improve just as we expect a freshman to improve as he progresses to a senior?
That’s not happening with the D coaching here at UGA.

Instead of “bend don’t break” lets have “break break break”.

Our defense wasn’t as bad as it seemed it was our turnovers that set our defense in bad situations. But you got to be impressed with our redzone defense holding south carolina to 3 points mostly every time they got in the redzone!!!!!!!!!!!!GO DAWGS

We won the game, but I think we got problems ahead. Our coaching staff said they would play the best players. I am not convinced that JC is the best QB, I think that LC is the better QB right now. JC cannot get out of way of his own shadow. JC is being rewarded for being there for 4yrs, LG can lead this team as well as JC along with all the other +’s tht he just natually has over. JC nice guy love him but he is not the best that we can do at that position.

Defensively; I am looking at the same thing that bugged us last season, I am now convinced that it is a coaching problem. We have what I think is very good player our player is as good as Al and Fl, but they are not being put in situations to utilize there talents, year before last year after we had that bad loss to Tenn and barely got by Vandy CMR took the reins off those kid and responsed, everyone just had fun, even CMR changed he got involved he was very engaging on the sideline doing the game, that what brought on celebration at the Fl-Ga game. Now I am seeing the CMR that’s show no excitment and no fire non-engaging. I just think it makes the players uptight because I think they are this from their HC. Miss tackles out of position on a lot of plays, I see no stunts on the los, watching the GT-CLEM game I saw very good DL play on both teams, now I know our players is just as good as theirs. I drank the cool-aid about what I was hearing about the secondary so why was SC recievers able to get open so easy and we had no one within 5-10yds of them, that to me is typical of CWM zone defense I thought our corners was very good cover guys, they are being put into CWM system of thinking as oppose to reacting and using you athletic how soon have we forgot about 2007 I am seeing our low parts of the 2007 season I wish we would get back to what we were doing whe we went on that run (good run) in 2007 and oh where were ou TE’s where were our FR recievers where were our FB’s remember 2007 we used all of our weapons. We got a coaching problem at UGA and some one is too loyal and too stuborn to do anything about it.

That change of pace QB change late in the game needs to be explained ! That was the worst call by BOBO I’ve just about ever seen! That single call allowed us to give up series allowed SC to gain momentum come down and score some points get totally back into the game for what??? Explain it! it was a momentum killer! It was like “let’s put Gray in just to shut all the complainers up” Again your up by more than two scores run the ball run some clock! The “D’ coaching still sucks we had the same problem last year and it continues as far as Bobo the same stupid play calling this year as last year (even with 1st round draft choices). Very disappointed with the play calling. Glad for the “W” but…it’s going to be along season.

Jacketsfan…you’re so ignorant… did you watch the clemson v. north avenue game? Your defense folded in the second half like we did against you guys last year. Speaking of luck; how about that phantom holding call against Clemson when they were about to score once again to put the game away. Checking AJC once a week when your World of Warcraft session is up does not make you a legitimate football fan.

Greg, I see where you’re coming from. But Gray was put in the game to keep the ball on the zone read and it was wide open but he unfortunately decided to hand the ball off. I’m sure he is aware of that mistake.

I’m a huge TECH fan and it’s hard for me to pull for UGA in anything. But, I’m glad the DAWGS won so it will cool some of the heat on Richt and Cox. Richt is a quality, class guy trying to do a near impossible job, and all the fans want perfection.Cox seems like a good SA that has paid his dues in the system and deserves a chance to show what he can do – when he is not sick.
Another conclusion after watching both Tech and UGA, neither team seems like they are any threat to make it to the BCS at this point in the season. Inconsistent offense by Tech and same ol’ defense ( penalties, lapses , schemes) by UGA. Well, there are lot’s more games left.

No Defense

September 13th, 2009

You cannot run a cover 2 zone defense against anything other than the spread, and even then you will need great Defensive Ends, which we don’t have or have not been proven. That zone obviously does not work well against a pro style or I formation. Willie played Nickel almost the entire game, put a third linebacker in there. And how about play some man once and while?!!! Bottom line: is it talent on the D side or the coaching, maybe both but I think it always ultimately falls on the coach, sorry Willie, you got change or go…..

Gimmick offensive plays and poor officiating help you to defeat a very bad team in South Carolina. They could only score 7 pts. on NC State, the 2nd worse team in the ACC and they ran all over your defense. Your defense made Garcia look like Joe Montana. Oklahoma State proved that they didn’t belong in the top 20 and South Carolina has no chance. You still haven’t beaten anyone. Jacksonville State proved that they are a quality team against Florida State so now you see just how good we really are. Jackets will win the ACC and play in a BCS game.

62 points in two games … giving up 31 points per game. We can’t
win with his D. Get him outta here. Come on CMR … do it for the
team. Face the facts … we’re terrible. SC scores only 7 points
against a terrible NCS and scores 38 against Georgia. What’s it going

It’s terrible when you lose more on penalities than your running backs gain in an entire game. I thought we had worked on penalities. Willie
Martinez can’t adjust and can’t make on the move changes. We’re getting outcoached every game. This is going to cost us four games this year. FIRE WILLIE NOW!!!!

victory number 60 in the series. Don’t go away mad, just go away.

I am a big fan of the Dawgs. This year Dawgs are not impressive at all. They are making a lot of stupid mistakes. Darn, Players can’t hold on to the ball, excessive defensive penalties, false starts, offensive holding, and etc. The defensive backs gave South Carolina wide recievers, a lot of cushion where Garcia was able to complete passes for big plays. In the 2nd half, South Carolina, came out there, and out played the Dawgs. (honestly speaking) All I can say is that they are lucky to get this win yesterday. But if the offense don’t start igniting, the Offensive Line don’t do a better job to protect Joe Cox and the defense continue to rack up penalties, you can kiss the remainder of their season good bye.

At least the defense gave up 5 fgs instead of 7 tds. If any one of those posesessions end up a td, Dawgs lose. Personally, I relished the last 22 seconds when Stevie Boy thought he had the game won. Dangle the win in front of him, and then snatch it from his frowning gator jaws. Priceless!!!

It’s about time for Damon Evans to start considering making a coaching change. It’s very obvious that Mark Richt doesn’t have the ability to coach highly recruited athletes. He has been winning on pure talent alone since Brain Vangorder left the program. Don’t think for 1 minute that we won the SEC in 05 because of good coaching. We won because of DJ Shockley and with Brian Vangorder remaining class. It’s a good thing that we won it that yr because Willie Martinez lackluster coaching was beginning to take root on our talentive athletes.

We need a hc who’s not afraid to demand excellency from his entire coaching staff and his players. A coach who will teach our young men sound fundamental football. One who will call the right plays during games….keep the ball on the ground when it’s working and pass when we need to.

List of coaches we should consider hiring below:

1)Bronco Mendenhall-43 yrs old, went underfeated in the Mountain West Conference twice and won 2 bowls with a 38-13 record at BYU

2)Kyle Whittingham-49 yrs old with a 39-14 record at Utah

3)Jon Gruden-46 yrs old with a 95-81 NFL record and 1 SB victory.
