Tennessee coaches continue to struggle to keep their shirts on.
Men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl is the latest culprit.
Wearing an orange-and-white checkered sport coat, orange tie and no shirt, Pearl performed a rap song with three Volunteer athletes Monday night at the “Volscars,” Tennessee’s athletic awards ceremony. See the video.
Pearl also appeared publicly without his shirt at a 2007 women’s basketball game against Duke. But he’s not the only Volunteer coach to shed his shirt.
In early March, several Volunteer football coaches made an unforgettable impression on recruits by ripping off their shirts “Superman style.”
Will head football coach Lane Kiffin be next?
“I don’t think so,” Kiffin told the Knoxville News.
Kiffin did, however, participate in a skit with his father and defensive coordinator Monty Kiffin.
Creekside high school product Eric Berry was named the men’s best male athlete of the year at the ceremony at the Knoxville Convention Center.
We wondered what other coaches are considering going topless here.
