Michael Vick’s release from prison approved
Imprisoned Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick has been approved for release to home confinement and could be released to his Virginia home as early as May 21.
Now the questions regarding his football career come into play? Will NFL commissioner Roger Goddell reinstate him to the league? If he’s reinstated, will he play in 2009? And will the Falcons, who have said they are interested in trading his rights, get fair compensation for the former No. 1 overall pick?

I never stopped believing in Michael, I know once released he’ll return to the NFL and will be better than ever, I just pray people would leave him alone and allow him to rebuild his reputation. Michael Vick you can come live with me while on home confinement.

I hate to say it because I think he is amazing, however, stick a fork in him – he’s done. There may be one or two teams willing to give him a chance at playing and it won’t be at quarterback. That would be the Dallas or Oakland Thugs. I would hope Vick to be humble enough to take whatever opportunity is presented in hopes of gaining the trust of the football community. I fear his ego won’t let him. If he has truly changed, he has a slight chance at doing something. Otherwise my money will be on another prison sentence in his future. I am hurt by his past actions. I truly loved this guy and as I defended him year after year as a player. His personal life blew up in all of our faces.

what do you mean “you people”?? we have not messed up anything. white people do just as much as black people the only sad thing is that its not always breaking news on t.v. they things that you all do is kept quiet. trust me i know. i went to a prodominately white school for a year just to see what it would be like. and there was just as much drugs and alcohol and partying by minors as in any other county if not more. and the sad thing i saw very often was that some of the parents would actually throw the party and buy the liquor!!! oh and the kids didn’t have to buy the drugs off the street because they could get it from home. out of their own srewed up parents medicine cabinet!! but that is supposed to make you all better than us though huh because we lived in different zip codes?? get a life and quite leaving racist ignorant comments on here. Why would the Falcons still be held to the terms of the old agreement? It seems that MV would have been in default and the contract be void. The Falcons will get nothing in return for him. No one will take his contract, the Falcons will release him, and then teams will negotiate a new deal, leaving us with another sour taste. Does it ever end?

As a quarterback, I was not a big fan. I know that it makes me sound ancient but I just think that drop back passers are more likely to get their team to and win a Super Bowl than quarterbacks who try to throw on the run. In most cases, the passing accuracy just “…hasn’t been there.” That being said, I think that there is a lot to be said for the concept of forgiveness. Seems like most of the people who have posted so far have been in favor of showing some forgiveness. Me too. While I am not a fan of his quarterbacking style, I will be rooting for him to make it back as a quarterback with some NFL team, praying for him to be successful, praying for him to stay out of trouble and maybe prove me wrong about mobile quarterbacks.

Why are the ones commenting on Vick so angrily not angry when people kill their children or families. Something is wrong when people care more for animals than they do for humans. you should be worried about murderers, molesters, predators instead of someone killing vicious dogs, he should not have killed them in this manner he should have called animal control or SPCA and gotten rid of them if he didn’t want them, seems to me he may have had a mental problem, even when people kill their own children they get mental evaulation but you all feel he doesn’t deserve that he deserve prison time this was so wrong because the same God you call yourself serving is Vick’s God also. Animals do not have souls to go to Heaven, Humans do. It is okay to love animals but you should love humans first and more.

I will NEVER root for Vick again. He would still be torturing dogs if he wouldn’t have been CAUGHT. It takes a sick person to do what he did in the first place, going to prison doesn’t solve that or take back the suffering he brought into the world.

Sometimes if you are raised a certain way, you just think things are normal (dog fighting). I think you can see the error of your ways. Certainly he would not think of doing this again. Isnt that what we call rehabilitation. You serve your time and then you attempt to put your life back together. I say line him up as a wide receiver on the Falcons and make him wear a fur on team trips just to piss off PETA!

Nobody is going to give Vick anything. People are suddenly watching each other like the Gestapo, especially the white guys. Some rich woman over in Buckhead turned Author Blank in for breaking water restrictions, watering his yard. The only way she knew it was by trespassing on his lawn and her feet squeaking with the water she was stepping on, but she was incensed enough to make that call. If Vick plays football it will be because he is the best football player for the job, not because of anything else, but that will be enough. This is not like a lot of beauty contest in America, like Ivy League and private schools where who your daddy was gets you in and getting in gets you a job because you are part of the club. Then you rip off America with your toxic mortgages that make you rich and destroys the economy, not unlike the Enron thing where an executive used accounting tricks to make up for lack of business skill and got what equals a life sentence. Only in this case no money was return, nobody went to jail; no they were rewarded by a bailout and took 18 billion in bonuses after the fact. A lot of us would rather complain about a black man who brought himself up from nothing offered a skill worth the money he was paid for. Seems to me we have lost our minds, and the fundamentals of this nation that made it great, when we reward a class of crooks that had no skill level with billions, but condemn a man who has the skill that was witness by millions.

Only to those of you who love your dog more than your neighbor. People eat dog and fight them in many countries, they would be confused a man went to prison over it… PETA is terrible only out to profit from Vicks name… They are a disgrace and kill thousands of dogs every year but say hunting animals for food is wrong… Hilarious!!! Let the person who can truthfully state that they have never in their lifetime done something wrong, and throw the first stone at Mike Vick. We all have done bad things, wrong is wrong no matter what it is. Michael has served his sentence, he has been punished, he has earned his second chance and his past should remain in the past. PETA should move on to someone who is actually hurting animals now in the present. This is old news, let the man start a new life. GO MICHAEL VICK!!! You still have fans who will always love you because you brought new life to football. There are people who love you for who you are, and forgive mistakes you may have made.

PETA only survives because of the press. It is a non story of a bunch of “get a life” people that feed the news on a slow day and took a life of its on. We suddenly have thousands of news outlets and nothing to fill them with. Dogs are equated to humans to make it sound more dramatic. I ate a steak last night, killed a cow, everything was cool until someone named the damn cow, now I am going to jail.
