Time to Get it Done!!!!! (AJC)
New thread up to talk Falcons vs. Seahawks in one of the biggest games in franchise history. The matchups have been analyzed to pieces and the storylines have been beaten to a pulp. It all comes down to who wants it more. The Falcons must win this game for so many reasons, the least of which is to move on in the playoffs. Will be back with more analysis and breakdown very soon, but this one has taken its toll on the Atlanta Falcon Faithful. NO MORE EXCUSES, IT’S TIME TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP!!!!!!…………

BR 6:11, they had to double team Matthews, the octopus. He can step in anytime. Mass may be even better! No worries.

DHunt, no prob buddy, just a little worked up, lol. NO WAY this game should have gotten that close. But we all suspected that it would didnt we?
Blaming th headcoach may be unfair BUT it has happened repeatedly over the yrs regardless who the coordinators were.
Ill drop it until were out of the dance but theres a constant, reoccuring theme with smitty and winningest falcons coach is theme 1 no dought. But I have lost faith in his ability to succeed in the playoffs…we luked out today and many, many times over the laST 4 YRS. Some say that means its not luck, I disagree. Over half our wins this yr, last yr and the yr before were wins inspite of coaching. Yes MM n BVG were the main culprit but MS hired them and hanged on to them for way too long. In the real life (away from smitty) BOTH failed and got fired…explain that my cage brothers who coddle smitty balls..lol…luv vodka!!!!

BR I think I was choked up, picked up the CSE staff member… For a minute I was 8 again… It was so much like the 81 playoff game vs Cowboys… But this time we had an answer. Now time to finish.

I’m thinking/hoping this win gave the Falcons the idea that they may be as good as they actually are. The SF game will be a challenge but I’m thinking we can go all the way if we learn from today’s victory. “Damn the torpedoes!”

Woot! Glad you can celebrate already, the stink of Smitty stupidity is gonna take a keg of Irish whiskey for me to forget it seems. I’m not too worried about the FortyWhiners bathhouse scrubbers, the Pats are looking like who we will have hard times with. If Nolan gets smart and lets the Whiner’s score enough to stay close and keep Smitty’s loserball off the table we will be fine. The Pats can match our offense tho and their defense is much better than given credit for.

SP, compare the playcalling of the “kings/NE” vs us hillbillies. Its top of the line nfl vs jv ga state (my alma matre, go concrete campus). Cooter needs to watch some tv tonight instead of gloating in his lucky stars!!!!

Ain’t on Smitty or Turner at all, it was a FAILURE of Nolan, and Ryan that allowed the game to be that close. But regardless, those who felt they cannot win due to Smitty or Turner just don’t know football. No, they are the rocks.

Our O line played great, our Defense collapsed, face it, you guys are wrong, have been all year. I was correct, playoffs is just another football game. Now we get to play another.

How do they get every one so damn open and every one of our passes are contested and have to be picture perfect throws by Ryan? I hate watching them bastids.
Lol at the failed trolling. I’ll play some,
Fire Smitty now please! Turner can stay another game or two.

All the “weaknesses” you guys pointed out again and again were addressed. Turner being over the hill, our O line being bad, etc, was just plain WRONG. Ryan played a dicey game, threw a critical pick, but in the end he was Matty Ice…..The only thing that did not show up was Nolan’s pass D.

I was not a guy who said we WOULD win in the playoffs, I just said we CAN win, that all the other crap, past experiences, what play we called in week 6, mean nothing in regards to our chances. But the fact that Turner showed up and outplayed the “beast” is not lost upon me.
And for Ryan, well, it was the best of times, and the worst of times……He thew a bad pick, but he redeemed himself…..Overall, hard fought W…..And as I said all year, a W is a W.

Too close for comfort, good win though. Definately needed, for the frachise and the city. Also a decent taste of what the 49ers will be like. Handle business, no more trick screens or end arounds. These are desiplined teams in the playoffs and won’t usually fall for such. And for God’s sake it the runs working don’t get away from it. The RB’s looked good today so why start off each series passing on first and running on second as if our lives depended on that play selection. Got to be smarter Cooter, and Nolan, we’ve got to have more confusion for the rookie QB’s. You did it to manning you can do it to these guys.

I will say this, winning a playoff game was not the goal, it just shuts up the “we have not won a playoff” clowns who do not understand competition. I am not naming names, but you know who you are.
But, our screens did have something to be desired, out little play to Snelling was quite innovative to me……Saying that Smitty is not able to allow Koetter to try new things is not true…..As for our D, we focused on stopping ML, and we did, but he had a cost.
Bottom line, we removed an emotional block off our mind, but it is not the goal, not at all…..

Atlanta jumps out to big lead vs Seahawks, Hawks come storming back. Atlanta manages to pull it out= avoiding embarrassment.

Glad we won. Smitty should be let go at end of season. He is this team’s Achilles heel. They win in spite of him.

Cage Family,
Atlanta played a gutsy game until the finish. Much respect to the Seahawks for a very good game. I am glad and grateful for the win!! Looking ahead, I know that the 49ers will be a huge challenge next Sunday, but I feel that the Falcons will win that game. Each year under MR2, in our 1st game we have lost to the NFC Champion. This year the tide has changed, this year the Falcons will RISE UP!! Oh and to all of the media elite that have hated on the Falcons this entire season; How about you all go find a hard and rough rock to crawl yourselves back up under! That is all!

I am glad we won or d3 would have chucked a rock thru his TV ! HAHAHAHA
The dome was ROCKING to say the least. My ears are still ringing and my throat is still soar from screaming.
I will say, we did everything we could to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
Heard on the radio on the way home that in the huddle with 35 seconds left. That Ryan goes into the huddle, states “we’ve been here before, we can do it again” Clabo asks, how much do we need.. answer 30 yds… Ok then, lets go”
What an emotional roller coaster…. in fact I am still stunned about all that happened.
Cant wait for next Sunday. .. glad I have to go out of town for a few days…as I think I would lose my mind listening to all the stuff this week

Let me be clear, back about 6-8 weeks ago, after our 1st loss, people were projecting that we might lose out the season. It pissed me off, and I said that type of talk is just pessimism, that the type of “analysis” was just emotional crap, but not analysis at all. I also said I would stand tall if we went one and done. So here I am….MT33 played great, Nolans D, not so much….Sorry to disagree with you, but Smitty rocks….Right?

LRD, you left before the fat lady sang??? Shame on you! I had friends (?) over saying “Game over” half way through the fourth quarter. I told them that, with the Falcons, the game is not over until there is zero time on the clock. MR and Co are winning MF’s, the situation doen’t matter.

Look, I’m very very glad we won, and I want Dimitroff, Smith, and Ryan back, but dang, you can’t do what they did today to their fans. The breadth of emotions I endured during the game was not good for my health. If they had lost, losing the way they could have today would have put me over the top.
I’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss anyday, but this wasn’t an ugly win. It was something else, and I can’t find the correct words to describe it.

LOL, agreed, huge monkey off our back, I could see the tension on Ice’s face, now it is all gravy, we just have to play loose and be ourselves. The MT33 fresh legs concept was not popular around here, but he looked like a new RB today. Our D made it close, but Russell Wilson is a hard guy to play against…the guy is amazing.
