Happy Times in the ATL (Gregory Bull)

The Atlanta Falcons are 3-0 and it feels so good as fans to see our team playing so darn well. Some in the media and others around the league tried to downplay the significance of the Falcons good start by saying the Chiefs win was way overrated after their week 2 performance and that the Birds big Monday Night win was more of a product of Peyton Manning’s errors than the Falcons fine play. Well, it’s hard to keep that line going when they are only one of 3 remaning teams that are unbeaten and they traveled out to the west coast and utterly dominated another of the only remaining undefeated teams. Yes, it’s early, but the Falcons are looking as good as they ever have and must be considered one of the best teams, at least for now. A look at the big road win……….

Thomas DeCoud is a Beast

Last week it was William Moore’s turn for a huge night and this week it was Thomas DeCoud’s turn. Some fans wondered if …

The Atlanta Falcons finally won on the biggest of stages after falling flat the last few times, and every time in the Mike Smith Era. The Birds welcomed one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time full of hype after beating the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers. It was an entertaining and very long game that was filled with plenty of turnovers (for the Broncos) and a bunch of stoppage times from the replacement refs. We can talk all day long about how the Falcons almost let a big slip away, but the fact remains that they didn’t. In fact, this was a big win for no other reason than help the Falcons themselves, the organization, and their fans psyche in believing they can win the big ones. A look at the huge win……….

The Atlanta Falcons started the 2012 NFL season in excellent fashion as they rolled over and through the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, only a last second, meaningless touchdown by the Chiefs made it seem much closer than it actually was. It was a struggle in the first half, but the Falcons took advantage of some of the turnovers to pull away in the second half. In particular, the offense looked superb as they racked up 40 points in the first three quarters and not even having to punt until late in the game. The defense looked pretty bad in the first half, especially on those dreaded 3rd and longs. To their credit, though, they tightened up in the second half, created 3 turnovers, and shut them out in the second half, excluding the gimme TD with only seconds remaining. Overall, a fantastic start to the season. Not perfect, but a superb start to the season. A look at the big win…………

Atlanta Falcons – The Great Bird Cage Season Prediction Competition

Time for Your Annual Predictions

Julio's Time to Shine (AJC)

There’s a crisp in the air (well, not really here in Georgia), college football’s already started, tailgates are getting planned, and the new Atlanta Falcons season is right around the corner. So of course that means its time to put your prediction hats on and guess the Falcons wins and losses for the year. Let’s get to it….

1) Falcons @ Chiefs – Win

It’s going to be an emotional game for Tony Gonzalez and his return home to Kansas City, where he spent — years. It’s also one of the more intriguing matchups on opening weekend. GM Thomas Dimitroff is also fielding his Falcons against his mentor in New England in GM Scott Pioli. The Chiefs are on the way up, but the Falcons got to get this one and start the year off right, unlike the last two years suffering opening day losses to the Steelers and Bears. Its close , but the Birds get by and get the W.

2) Falcons vs. Broncos – Win
